Beast World: A Fragile Beauty Blessed with Many Children-Chapter 292 - 291: So That’s How It Is
The Beast God thought for a moment. ’That could work. But what’s the difference between granting this superpower and not? Wouldn’t she just report back to me anyway?’
As long as he was guiding her, the Little Saint Female wouldn’t dare act recklessly. "Fine," he said. "I grant it. Little female, you must always remember what you’ve said. If I discover that you’re just fooling me to satisfy your own selfish desires, then all the privileges you now enjoy will be revoked."
Si Shuo raised an eyebrow. ’Is the Beast God warning me now?’ "Lord Beast God, you can rest assured. My mission is aligned with yours; we both want what’s best for the Beast World Continent.
I won’t get hung up on the other Female Saints. There are plenty of people in this world who are more perfect and outstanding than I am.
But that’s them, and it has nothing to do with me. I just want to live a good life with my Beast Husbands and cubs, and I only ask that no one comes looking for trouble with me!"
The Beast God thought about it and had to agree. This little female had resolved several major crises: the Beast Tide in Puchang City, the Winged Dragon Clan’s insults toward the females at Dongye Middle Square, the Winged Dragon Clan and Golden Python Clan’s machinations during the Female Saint Conference, and more. Now, her family had opened a school and a writing supplies shop, was leading the Iron-eating Beast Clan members in raising poultry, and was even set to lead the beastmen in adopting new farming techniques next year, promising a great harvest.
The little female was now suffused with golden Blessings. How could a person so emotionally stable, kind-hearted, and full of life possibly harbor any ill intentions?
Otherwise, with her current abilities, couldn’t she have sought much more for herself? 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"Very well, very well. Little female, if you ever..." The Beast God had intended to offer his standard parting words, the same pleasantry he gave every female. He would tell her to pray to him if she encountered any difficulties, and as long as her requests weren’t too excessive, he might even grant one or two.
But then he remembered this little female. She was clever as a monkey and knew how to take a mile if you gave her an inch. He didn’t need to remind her. If she ran into trouble, she would find a way to summon him anyway.
"If it’s nothing important, do not summon me casually. I am the Beast God. I cannot appear too frequently, and I must avoid getting entangled in the affairs of you beastmen." The Beast God cleared his throat, putting on a dignified air.
Si Shuo nodded enthusiastically. "Of course! Lord Beast God, you can count on me. As your absolute favorite female, I will always be working to ease your burdens.
A better world makes for a more stable and harmonious home. I understand the principle: when the nest is overturned, no egg remains intact.
I’ve experienced death before. I cherish life more than you can imagine. I don’t ask for much—I just want the people I care about to be safe, happy, and healthy."
The Beast God grunted in acknowledgment. ’Her wish isn’t a grand one, but simple wishes are often the hardest to grant. I can’t be watching over all those people all the time, can I?’
After her communication with the Beast God ended, Si Shuo felt a sudden heat in the center of her forehead and became aware of her beastmen and cubs staring at her.
She chuckled and touched her forehead. "What is it? Don’t you recognize me? Is there something on my face? Why are you all staring at me like that?"
Ji Liang reached out and gently stroked the spot between her eyebrows. "Little Shushu, were you just communicating with the Beast God? This is the mark of a Beast God Servant, isn’t it?
Legend has it that at the dawn of beastman civilization, the Beast God specially selected a group of Servants to help establish a more stable and harmonious society. They were tasked with conveying his divine will and, in turn, telling him of the beastmen’s suffering.
Later, through the efforts of generations of beastmen, the living conditions on the Beast World Continent improved dramatically. The beastmen’s needs shifted from major crises to trivialities. The Beast God grew displeased with this, and so the Servants stopped appearing.
The descendants of those Servants, however, retained some small ability to perceive the Power of Heaven and Earth or to communicate with the Beast God. They are the ones who became the Priests and Witch Doctors of today’s clans and tribes..."
Si Shuo quickly pulled out a small mirror. Sure enough, a crimson, teardrop-shaped mole now adorned the space between her eyebrows. It made her skin seem as white as snow and her features even more delicate. Her sapphire-blue, cat-like eyes sparkled like a galaxy, her ethereal aura now tinged with a hint of allure.
’I look as pure as a white lotus! This must be what they mean by "dotting the eyes of the dragon"—the perfect finishing touch.’
Si Shuo immediately put down the mirror and said to Xu Chi,
"Xu Chi, quick, use your Invisibility and take me to find Mi Xing. I’d like to see for myself what kind of Female Saint she really is. Heh, I wonder if her Beast Husbands would still let her have them wrapped around her finger if they knew her secret."
"After we get back, we’ll give Father Wei Jin a warning. I hope we can stop this disaster before it starts."
Xu Chi nodded, walked over, and embraced her. They vanished on the spot. A pair of pure white wings unfurled, and he flew first to the shop to find Xiao Cheng, then brought them both to the outside of Mi Xing’s room.
Si Shuo peeked inside. Upon seeing Mi Xing, she silently recited an incantation in her mind and swiped a hand across her eyes. When she opened them again, her irises were veiled in a layer of pale gold.
To her surprise, she saw images of Mi Xing requesting her superpower, followed by scenes of her using it over the years, all flashing past like fleeting glimpses.
’So that’s how it works!’ The chances of conceiving a cub with a Beastman at or below Level 10 were very high. But for a Beastman above Level 10, even a Female Saint couldn’t expect to get pregnant in just a year or so.
This gave the male beastmen time to collect all sorts of Crystal Stones and supplies. Once preparations were nearly complete, a Female Saint gestating a particularly talented cub could exhaust a massive amount of resources in just two short months!
Mi Xing didn’t have that kind of patience, so she had requested a superpower unique to Female Saints. After getting pregnant, as long as she could obtain a strand of hair from a male, she could make the cub in her womb mimic his aura. It could even generate a false sense of a bloodline connection with the owner of that aura. In reality, however, the cub’s talent, aptitude, and Beast Form were all inherited from its biological Father.
This meant that in order to ensnare a High Level male, Mi Xing first had to take a beast husband of the same Beast Form. To conceal the peculiarity of her superpower over the long term, she publicly claimed that she liked to collect her beast husbands in pairs of different Beast Forms.
’No wonder Mi Xing was supposedly pregnant with Ni Chang’s child! So, the child was actually someone else’s, and she just pinned the fatherhood on Ni Chang! And now she’s trying to pull the same trick to drag Gong You into her web and destroy the happiness of our family.’
Male beastmen are particularly fixated on having cubs. It’s an obsession with procreation, etched into their very heritage.
And Mi Xing had never once failed to exploit this obsession.
Now that she knew about Mi Xing’s superpower, Si Shuo had Xu Chi take them to find the Vermilion Bird Beastman, Gui Hong.
Xiao Cheng concealed his aura, bit into a Dust Cleaning Talisman, and used his Transformation ability to take on the appearance of a White Crane Beastman. He then went to the market to pick up the scent of some other White Crane Beastmen before swaggering off to find Gui Hong, who was on his way out of the city.
Si Shuo knew how to create Basic Teleportation Talismans. Each use could cover a distance of up to ten kilometers, and each talisman could be used a hundred times, giving it a total range of one thousand kilometers.
They had a map of Guangshou City drawn on a wall in their pocket dimension. Using the talismans to represent ten-kilometer jumps, they laid out a teleportation network in a spiderweb pattern, with Yin Jiang and Xu Chi choosing the start and end points for each talisman.
Now, they selected a dozen or so Teleportation Talismans leading toward the East City Gate. Jumping from one point to the next, they quickly caught sight of Gui Hong.
"Young Master Gui Hong? Is that really you?" Xiao Cheng, in his White Crane disguise, called out happily.
"And you are?" Gui Hong tilted his head, his expression puzzled. He couldn’t recall knowing any beastman from the White Crane Clan.
