Beast Evolution System: Devourer of Heaven-Chapter 287: Daily lives of Royalty.
Ved and Naledi opened their eyes, " Was it necessary for you to say his life is worthless?"
Ved clicked his tongue. " He pissed me off." Naledi shook her head and left. He followed behind her.
Avery appeared from the shadows. " My lord, my lady." She greeted them with a bow. Naledi smiled.
" Good morning Avery, did you have a nice sleep?" Naledi asked. Avery looked at Ved with confusion then turned back to Naledi.
" No my lady, I had a terrible nightmare, you were there." Ved laughed.
" Yeah she’s very literal."
Naledi giggled, the two of them left with her on their hills. Ved took human form and they went for a bath.
This was their daily routine, taking a bath together and on some occasions the bath becomes a bit spicy.
Naledi was in a terrible mood today even though she tried to hide it so Ved didn’t try to initiate and just held her close.
After that they went to change, well he created his own clothes using his web and wax.
Shoes made with web but had hard wax soles. Their inner lining were very soft and comfortable.
He wore a suit that fitted him perfectly bringing out his toned muscles. Since it was made with his web and wax the suit was pure white without a spot of another colour.
Naledi came out wearing a long blue dress that glistened like ice under the sun, it had a slit on one thigh.
The dress was decorated with light blue crystals around the neck. It fits her tightly bringing out her curves.
It made her deep blue eyes shine even brighter, her crystal hills clicked on the tiles with each step she took.
" You look gorgeous." He complimented her honestly. She smiled softly but he could see the happiness in her eyes.
" And you look as handsome as the Gods my dear love, perhaps even more." He pushed her lustrous blue hair behind her ear and drew his face closer to hers.
" Be careful with your words my angel, lest the gods curse me." She giggled.
" Let them try and see what I do to them."
He smiled. " I don’t doubt that one bit." She touched his long black and white hair.
" I still find it hard to get used to your hair colour, are you sure you didn’t choose this?"
He laughed, " Of course not, I can’t even change it." He pulled strings of his hair, some pure white while others were pitch black.
" You should cut it, make it shorter, I can’t have my man have more beautiful hair than mine, Catheliya would mock me."
He laughed, " What’s the point, it’s not like I use this form often now do I?"
" Still, it makes me jealous, your hair is prettier than mine."
He kissed her, " Nonsense, everything about you is divine. We should go, lest Avery and Adeline get mad at us for being late for breakfast, you know how fussy they can be."
She laughed, " It’s not those two that terrify me, it’s your mother, she would kill me if she found out her son missed breakfast because of me."
Ved laughed, he knew better than anybody how doting Nimue can be. They found breakfast was already prepared for them in a massive dining room. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
The room had a long table made of Alder wood born from the legendary tree of light that grows at the centre of a dying star.
Red carpet lined the floor while a beautiful chandelier made of an ancient crystal hung above their heads providing light to the entire room.
The rest of the room was decorated with statues of dragons. However Ved as vain as he was added statues and paintings of both he and his queen.
The two sat opposite of each other as royalty. Maids came in and removed the lids from their breakfast.
Most maids were from the rabbit clan but there were also humans assigned here to serve Naledi.
Infact the head maid amongst them was a projection realm expert whose vessel was of space and light attributes.
A rare vessel with double attributes. Her name was Adeline Monroe. " Adeline." Ved called out.
" Yes my lord." Adeline bowed in his direction. " I will give you a list of names, I need you and Avery to find these people, please."
He transferred the names directly to their minds using will transmission which was faster.
There were 72 425 names on the list. " May I ask who these people are my lord?" Adeline asked.
" Those we failed." Naledi replied with a soft voice. She tried to sound casual but he could hear he pain beneath the facade.
" Those who fell in the dreaming." He corrected her. Avery and Adeline nodded and left to fulfil the task he had given them.
He stood up and walked to Naledi then crouched next to her chair and held her hand.
" My sweet sweet angel, I admire how much you care for others. It’s a trait I’ve long lost in your absence.
However you can’t keep blaming yourself. I know your desires but only a God could achieve such.
One day I’m sure you will, because you my sweet angel will stand above the gods themselves and tell them how stupid they look.
But until then, don’t beat yourself up, you did more for those people than anybody would ever be willing to do.
You sacrificed fragments of your own soul to try and save them."
She smiled at him and placed her other hand on top of his.
" Not anybody, you were willing to sacrifice as well." She said with a soft smile. His mouth twitched.
" Yeah yeah willing to, definitely willing to, from the bottom of my heart I was willing to I swear upon the bald head of Rah."
She laughed, " Thank you." She said softly. " What for?"
" Everything, I know you lowered the prices of crops and meat even though it’s scarce so thank you."
" Just trying to do my best like everybody else." He said and took a bite off the peace of meat on his plate.
She shook her head, " You have no reason to go to such lengths to help the humans yet you did so thank you."
He placed his fork and knife down and his face turned serious which caught her off guard.
" That’s where you’re wrong, I did have to. I don’t think I’ve told you this but I’ve seen a dream projection of the Nameless of Nightmares.
That alone almost killed me Naledi, almost destroyed my soul just by looking at a projection.
When we’re going to face beings like that in the future I can assure you, I want to have as many allies as possible."
She nodded. " You’ll always have me." He smiled and continued eating.
