Chapter 32: Scene XXXII

It was seductive.

The rough approach of the man. So primitive in manners yet natural to his essence was unexpectedly charming to her proper mindset.

Hearing the raspy voice along his words, Ewelina had no option but to avoid the steady approach of his countenance. Flustered to think the man lulling her into lust was the one she had to teach what kissing entailed in a couple’s life.

’... Tonight... We are to share sheets once more...’

Ewelina bit the inside of her lower lip in anticipated desire at the thought. Realising that the fidgety sensation in her lower half continued as vivid as that morning after he left their marital chambers.

"..."

The light blush that only he could see made Aslak grin. Deciding to turn away and serve himself the big amount of food his huge physic needed. Feigning ignorance of her nice shade.

His hand had departed her flesh. Causing Ewelina to peek slightly disappointed at the limb that lost his firm touch. Coming to find comfort in the tasteful wine he had served..... As well as the courage to retort the enticement he did not finalise by also turning away in sarcastic repetition of what he had told her previously.

"... Alright...I will eat since Husband asked... " — Making sure he noticed her voice enough to give her a glance, Ewelina elegantly said. Placing a bite inside her mouth once she finished. Lifting her brow, adopting the arrogant attitude he appreciated.

"... Hah." — Leaning back on his seat he sneered. Placing his hand again on the back of her seat as he drank more of the juice he had served, gladly entertained.

’This darn woman...’ — Gripping her seat, he thought. Releasing a deep sigh, catching glimpse of the skin under her ornaments. And taking advantage of the wine’s flavour to lick the thirsty lips that wanted to touch under her dress. — ’... Bloody hell. I want to fuck her already.’

Knowing the pleasure she could gift when in private, Aslak’s excited mood enhanced. Almost pushing another growl of celebration out of his mouth from the anticipation, that was only suppressed by the leather jack in his hand. And had downright forfeited that sour sensation lurking in his spirit throughout the day.

Recalling the moment of silence when announcing his departure that morning had maintained the man in conflict until this time.

Her words...

— Go ahead, Husband... I wish you a good day... —

Words of send-off, similar to those she had told the first time she kissed his cheek... Yet no similar gesture was received along them.

Pondering about informing tonight’s feast and its meaning to Ewelina was something he had decided to hide at the time... For the desire to receive a kiss in farewell had not been granted by the woman. And so, his pride had kept the dejection hidden in disgrunt.

Eventually pushing him to walk away, without more exchange nor touch with his wife.

The craving for the affectionate gesture kept unfulfilled. Discreetly wandering in his head until Aslak called harshly for the woman’s attention once she entered the Main Dining Hall. Displaying displeasure at the favour shown between the men to his wife who was delaying the greeting she had to give to her impatient Spouse.

That peck and appeasing greetings she placed on his cheek had finally filled his craving. And the according pride from it had been accomplished in front of those who serve him. Causing awe in the men’s eyes as well as envy their great Lord was deserving of.

Aslak flaunted the woman as if she was his possession to the men... Proud for she was a unique female whose delicate demeanour was of the liking to many... yet only for him to have.

’... I want to hunt...’ — The satisfied man thought at the feat. Yearning for the nature outside the walls of his roof.

"Your Graces, I have come to congratulate you."

"Good Sire Kir. We meet again." — Greeting him pleased, Ewelina joyfully spoke to the proper Kir.

"... Kir." — Aslak responded instead. Waking from his daydream, harshly, unlike his wife. Leaning on the table to extend his jack and receive a new fill of it as congratulation.

"Let me fill it to the edge, Master."

"... Woman. You too, offer your cup to be filled."

Aslak pressed in a brief glare.

"..."

Ewelina was doubtful, for she did not want to lose consciousness at alcohol’s fault. Nonetheless, she did not retort with her apprehensions.

The woman observed how the luxurious liquid was poured into both of their cups being drowned in its fragrance. Following her Spouse, she drank as he did and came back to lean on her seat to listen as the knighted Kir recited.

"Deny a beast’s menace with amber sight."

"... Butcher the hunt."

"...?"

Bowing in an engaged mood, Kir went off to rob a man of their jack and drank its booze in primitive celebration while the confused Ewelina could not understand the amused smirk the two men had shared once Aslak replied. Only daring to ask once she saw the knight mix with the others attendants.

"Husband?... What were those words you exchanged?"

"... What?" — The question of the woman made him scowl further. — "You don’t know?"

Lowering her eyes, Ewelina became frightened thinking she had committed a mistake because of her thoughtlessness. As her husband appeared displeased with threatening articulation.

However, the man excused on his own her ignorant inquiry.

"..... Ah... I forget that you aren’t from this place."

Gulping down his drink he forfeited the menacing glare from the woman. Leisurely snatching a piece of meat with his bare hand to chew as he continued to explain.

"That... It’s a pledge. A greeting men have given the Myrkzver’s from who knows how long."

"... A pledge..."

"You are officially my Wife in their eyes with this feast. So I’m guessing that’s why they haven’t said it to you until now."

"..."

"Congratulations." — He indifferently told her. — "You’ve been recognized by these brutes."

Lowering her gaze to continue enjoying her meal, Ewelina did not speak further. Regardless, the joyous sight in front of them was carefully strolled by her shy eyes.

More men and women came to offer congratulations to the couple and, pleasant at the continuous repetition of such pledge, the young woman portrayed a gentle expression as she considered the words of her Spouse.

’... Unexpectedly... I could not feel more honoured by this.’

"Deny a beast’s menace with amber sight."

"Butcher the hunt." — "Butcher the hunt."

Joining her Husband, Ewelina also started to receive their pledges. Elegantly in comparison to the rough man to her side. Yet as prominent in her own essence.

"... We should end this feast soon..."

Watching the men leave to enjoy more of the feast, Aslak muttered impatient, for the woman continued to entice him with unintended surprises.
