Chapter 131: Scene CXXXI

The nose of the man cuddled to that of the woman’s, who gingerly lifted her chin wishing to graze an apologetic spouse.

Content, he felt the nice squeeze of his chest relieve the trouble at her state, solely to purr some words of thoughtful... yet also sly purpose.

"Should I carry you?" — Aslak said, gazing intensely into the woman’s umber hues. — "I can carry you, Fatædi."

Soft chuckle left Ewelina at the limitless man, ultimately cuddling to the side of his tough arm, ending his ideas with elegant essence.

"It would be inappropriate. With husband’s limb, it suffices."

Lightly, she pulled him to resume their walk down the stairs, unaware of the tingles her sweetness provoked within a wild man whose instincts worked to their strongest while beside her nature. And yet... he followed. Conflicted as a longer time of wait was to go by before a night like those two in this humble granite tower could arise again.

Her arm had tangled around his, ultimately intertwining her soft and bony fingers with the rough ones of Aslak, different to how it had been during other strolls as her other hand also held onto his limb. Daint and unknowingly warm, for the affectionate wife unconsciously stroked the skin over his shirt as if natural.

Pleasant by the closeness both arrived before the many eyes preparing to depart. And so, Ewelina’s spine straightened lightly to showcase the admiration an Archduke’s wife ought to portray while her hands remained fixed to his support, taking care that the man would notice it was not distance what she intended.

"Is everything ready?" — Coming to meet Sire Kir, Aslak became more severe in expression.

"Ai. Give the order, your grace, and gallop will immediately commence." — Admirable in attitude, Kir answered, giving a glance to the young wife of his lord, concealing the smirk he wanted to give as even if of wild roots, a knight’s manners were taught. — "Good day, her Illustrious Grace. I hope the rest has served your spirit to gain the energy needed for the path we are now to take." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"... Yes. Greetings, Sire Kir. As you said, I hope it lasts until the end of these hills we are to cross."

"Tell the men to mount their beasts, we’re going now that the sky’s clear."

"Ai. My lord. Ma’am." — Polite unlike his roots, Kir bowed, immediately enhancing his voice to invoke a departure.

In the meantime, Aslak and Ewelina paced calmly to the rebellious steed standing away from others. Finally standing before it to greet it as caring as Ewelina was to these beasts.

"Litilmenni... Good morning mischievous one~" — Stroking it with one hand Ewelina continued to walk along her spouse who quietly, freed his limb from her grasp so his hands could lift her up the steed... to which she yelped softly from surprise at the decisive motions, only to stop the spouse as he prepared to ride alongside his wife.

"! Wait, Husband." — Slightly alarmed and rushed Ewelina said, to attentively trace his frame provoking his impatience.

"What is it."

"... Are you not going to wear your armour?"

"No."

"W-why not?"

"I don’t need it."

"....."

A moment she took to take in his glare and response, becoming concerned. Threading the words that she wanted to say so her heart could feel relief.

"... Husband... please wear it..." — Weakly, she whispered. Afraid of her emotions causing her voice to quiver.

"I don’t need it. I won’t use armour."

"... Please wear it, Aslak..." — Deciding to persist, Ewelina’s worry traversed her chest and visage. Depriving her of air as she was to request this of a savage man.

"... You think I’m weak."

"! No... It is I who is weak... Hence, my request..." — With difficulty she responded to the menacing growl of a proud Archduke. — "You are certainly strong, my spouse... Strong enough to take the trouble to protect myself as I am weak to go against the threats of these grounds... Please... I beg of you, Aslak... wear the armour... for if I am to become a burden again, at least the armour will prevent injuries to be dealt to you because of me."

"... These weren’t your fault."

"....."

"... Fuuuuhh... Alright. I’ll fucking wear it." — Frustrated at the conflict in the wife’s expression, the weight of the man pushed an immovable horse to grant Ewelina’s request.

A glad smile slowly came to decorate her corners as she watched the man stomp his way to retrieve and use the armour he had only worn the day they left their castle.

Quiet she observed from her place on Litilmenni until his stomps made it back to her site, quickly jumping to sit behind her with a grumpy expression.

"Satisfied, woman?"

"... Yes... Thank you. Blessed thee Earth, husband." — Falling to lean on the tough male scowling at Ewelina’s pleasant smile. She stroked the man’s jaw, happy with his furrowed brows that failed to transmit true annoyance.

Nonetheless, rough was the earth he grew up in. And the woman fated to earn his everything was too sweet for a man like himself to resist the wildness within. Therefore, his teeth bit the female’s ear slightly stronger for it to hurt as a fuming whisper stroked it with warm breath.

"Thank me by obeying. This time, don’t slide away from my side. Listen to what I say in return to me using this hindering thing."

"... Yes..." — She answered, continuing to be as endearing while her fingers still caressed his cheek. — "I will. I promise."

"GrroOu.. Damn it! It’s already difficult, Fatædi..." — Enraged he mumbled into her neck, squeezing her soft torso against that of his that wouldn’t feel her heat.

"....."

Yet an answer from the woman did not come out from the lips she had to bite out of sharing his frustration.

’It is... enormously, my love, as I have these feelings growing selfishly and on their own for you...’ — She thought, lowering her head, cuddling to his cheek, so at least the scent of the man could relieve her soul’s trouble. — ’Lonesome, probably... However, a way I am to find.’

"Haaa... Let’s go."

"Mm." — To Aslak’s sudden rise from the comfortable nape of the woman, a youthful mumble conveyed agreement to his decision. Continuing her inward resolutions as the pace of the steed moved her to support herself more on the man, already missing the chest she had rested on the days before.

’A way I am to find to show my affection that turned to love... a way to make sure my love is not one-sided and root it as strongly into you... I will find a way... to get what my soul craves ever since my existence came to be, alongside you, my loved spouse.’
