Chapter 112: Scene CXII

It was natural for both already. How each would welcome a kiss from the other ready to let their lips unlock to tangle differently.

Ewelina’s heat was compassed with the beat of her heart that lovingly relished in the sweetness her feelings enhanced. Yet as the one with more self-control unlike the man of wild origins, it would be her who would draw away from his caresses, as his hands commenced to demonstrate the symptoms of a fever he would probably not relinquish if more time was granted to their touch.

"haa huff... the moment... fuhh... it is over, husband..." — With difficulty, her back bent away from his lips that followed the wife’s motion. Having to place her fingers on his thirsty edges to halt their search for more of her caresses.

Nonetheless.

"Grrmm... why."

The uncanny man moved so her fingers could be lightly bitten, as his tongue licked the fingertip to passionately gaze into Ewelina’s hues as he stood from the edge of the desk to help the pressure obtain his wants.

"Can’t we kiss a little more?"

"... No."

"... Woman..."

"No, husband. I have come to know enough of you... that I know the end will not be a kiss." — Lowering her gaze as it was a hazard for her heart that also desired him, the youthful Ewelina said out of breath. Softly, as her blush continued to conquer her cheeks and ears... That even when his tone was severe, his nose came forward to muzzle her defined curls. — "Please... do not persist..."

"Sigh... Then don’t leave yet." — Separating to glance at her umber shades, Aslak’s hand took one of hers to take Ewelina with him. Back to the seat at his desk. — "Come here. I’ll show you the route we’ll take to Ramideos. You said you haven’t been there."

"Ah... yes. Has the route been decided?" — Watching how he swiped away many parchments on his desk, Ewelina stood slightly confused at the quick acceptance of her petition, while the man took care of extending over its vast surface a wide parchment with an intricate map drawn on it’s aged material.

"Yeah... Learning how the situation was of the fiefs we could cross took longer than I thought. But the route should be like this." — Coming back to stand behind her, Aslak started to explain to the woman. — "The maps only have until the Hœttr Hills drawn of our territory, and then it’s the rest of the continent. But wife already crossed the hills and knows the way til our home."

"Yes... We need to cross the Hœttr Hills if we want to get to the side drawn."

"So, from here we will follow the same route until the nameless village where we retrieved you."

"Oh... I see..."

Noticing her interest, a spontaneous decision to show the places she already knew was born. And the man leaned, pointing the places she had stood at before arriving at his territory.

"... Here’s where the nameless village is... That’s Arbeumore... and here’s your old household, Orteu’s Barony... We won’t go through there, though."

"... That is alright." — Stroking with longing fingers the place where her old surname was written, Ewelina softly smiled thinking of the mother in this life that would always stay there along with her father. — "If it is not in the path we need to take to Ramideos... we ought to take the proper path."

"... Do you want to go there?"

"... More than go there... I wish I could see my mother."

"You don’t have a mother to see." — Sceptic to her meanings, Aslak said inconsiderately of his wife.

"... Husband. I do have a mother. Even though she is dead... Mother is there."

"... Why do you want to see her?" — Still confused by her meanings, the barbaric man inquired curious, as he had not felt the same towards his parents. — "Where even is she? Dead people are supposed to go back to the earth’s roots. Earth is everywhere."

"Ah... Well, in my family, there is a burial place for those of my blood... it is the mourning woods. My Mother rests there along with my Father... I want to see them as I could not say goodbye... as there are many things I wish to tell them about my present."

"Mourning woods...? It must be a deadly place if they don’t go back to earth."

"Haha... they do go back to earth, husband. It is only a place we can go back to visit those that went back to its roots." — Ewelina gently explained. In a manner her spouse would comprehend. — "It is a beautiful place... If... if an opportunity comes... Husband?"

"Hm?"

"Umh... if an opportunity comes and we can go there... w-would you come along to meet my mother?"

"At the mourning woods? Why?"

"Y-yes... I... E-even if they cannot see us... umh... I..." — ’Gosh... why do I... words will not come out...’

"If I can go, I will join you."

"... T-truly?"

"You said you want me to go."

"Yes! I–... Umh... I want you to go with me..."

"Alright." — Grooming the woman that had turned to talk to him, Aslak granted, ignorant of her deep intentions with the invitation. Only aware that shyness was making her speech more difficult to understand and that his acceptance would please the sweet woman. — "I’ll go with you, Fatædi. In some other travel."

"... Blessed thee Earth..."

"Earth is us to become... Right. Dead men go back to the earth. See."

"Haha... yes... Er... Husband before we resume the route’s matters... Umh... Your parents–"

"They are dead too."

"... Where are they resting?"

"... Don’t know. It doesn’t matter... Let’s continue with the route, wife."

Her eyes stared at his indifference with awe, baffled at his words showing no interest in the death of his parents or where their remains rested. However, Ewelina could not get herself to ask further, as the spouse leaned forward immediately turning her around so she could pay attention to the map he would trace with his finger.

"At the nameless village, we will go the other way you came from when leaving Orteu’s."

"Yes..." — She managed to answer while her mind went into ponder and concern. For from her wisdom, Ewelina could tell that even a savage would care for such matters... and if they did not... — ’Were they not good to him?... Perhaps he never met them as I did with Father...’

"There are some stops the damn king wants us to do but we won’t do all of those, he has his own people for that."

"... alright." — ’Hopefully... one day he will tell me more about him... I wish to learn so many things... more so as I feel more strongly for you, spouse...’

Peeking to his profile she hoped for learnings love requested to fill.
