Tristan felt like he was being recognized everywhere he went.

But despite having hidden his character’s name and wearing the Flame Mask to cover his face, something was off. Why was it that people still seemed to notice him?

After a moment of contemplation, Tristan could only attribute it to his own excellence. Like a firefly in the dark, it was impossible not to be seen, no matter how hard he tried to remain unnoticed.

As he thought, NightStalker explained, "My skill allows me to see through disguises."

"I see," Tristan nodded, understanding now.

A thought crossed his mind as he recalled information about NightStalker from his previous life. Casually, he asked, "Are you doing a class advancement quest?"

NightStalker didn’t hide it and replied, "Yes, I’m a Hidden Class—Lightbringer Knight. I came here to take down the bear boss."

As expected, NightStalker was still a Lightbringer Knight, just like in Tristan’s previous life. Tristan was somewhat familiar with this class. It was well-rounded, capable of both defense and offense, with impressive crowd control abilities.

What intrigued Tristan the most, however, was that this class had a hidden ability that could be unlocked later—demonization. The Lightbringer Knight could transform from a defensive role into an ultimate killing machine.

But from NightStalker’s current state, it seemed that he hadn’t learned this ability yet.

In the later stages of ExoGenesis, when the game and reality merged, the classes would evolve based on the player’s state. If NightStalker wanted to unlock demonization, he would likely need to go through some major changes, much like in Tristan’s previous life.

Shaking his head, Tristan brought himself back to the present and said, "You want to add me as a friend, right? No problem. By the way, do you belong to any guild?"

After meeting GemmaS earlier, Tristan had gotten the idea of forming the strongest guild. And now, running into NightStalker with his hidden class, it was a perfect opportunity to bring it up.

NightStalker was delighted as his friend request was accepted, and his eyes narrowed into a happy squint, his face looking cute and innocent.

Hearing Tristan’s question, he quickly responded, "I don’t belong to any guild. If you’re planning to create one, please save a spot for me—I want to join!"

Tristan almost bit back his words. NightStalker had already said everything for him. There wasn’t much left to add, so he just muttered, "No problem. I’ll get in touch with you later."

NightStalker was clearly overjoyed. His every smile and expression was full of charm.

Tristan couldn’t help but think of a saying: "You’re doomed because of those cute boys."

To solidify his own resolve, Tristan quickly said, "I need to head back to town for a quest. I’ll reach out to you about the guild later."

NightStalker’s expression visibly dropped, almost making Tristan change his mind and say, "Actually, I’m free, I can stay for a bit."

But he held back.

NightStalker quickly composed himself and said, "Alright, I’ll wait for your message."

Tristan resolutely walked away.

Behind him, he heard a resigned voice: "Lightbringer Impact!"

Boom!

The bear boss let out a pitiful scream.

After walking for a while towards Davi City, Tristan saw the grand city walls. But he didn’t hurry into the city. Instead, he circled around to the southern part of the wall and continued along the trade route.

It was still too early to return to town—he needed to keep leveling up.

Plus, he was curious to see if Dark Horizon had any further plans. Since Bonecrusher was taken down, he wondered if new goblins would appear.

He arrived at the first goblin den he had discovered earlier.

But to his surprise, there were no goblins there. Instead, the den had been overtaken by a few wild beasts.

Tristan casually threw his Shadow Dagger, and with a few ricochets, he took them all out, neatly and efficiently.

"No goblins?" Tristan muttered to himself.

From his understanding of Dark Horizon and goblins, they wouldn’t just give up so easily. Goblins were known for their rapid reproduction. While Bonecrusher-level goblins were rare, ordinary ones were abundant—more than enough to fill the gap of over 3,000.

Tristan had a vague feeling that the goblins were preparing something big.

Additionally, Dark Horizon wouldn’t stop their plans just because Bonecrusher had been killed. They had declared their intention to destroy Davi City, and they would certainly continue trying. At the very least, they would need to cause a significant stir before abandoning their plot.

Right now, it seemed like the calm before the storm. Though, this calm had lasted a bit too long.

Tristan knew that the first major update for Dark Horizon’s large-scale rebellion was about ten days after the server opened. By then, a lot of players would have advanced in levels and left the starter villages. Major cities would also begin expanding, and that was when Dark Horizon would make their move, triggering a large-scale quest.

"Only seven or eight days left," Tristan thought to himself.

With that much time, he would at least reach level 30 or 40, and by then, taking on Dark Horizon would be like playing with children.

With that thought, Tristan felt much better about the lack of movement from Dark Horizon. It was a good thing.

As he pondered, more wild monsters started popping up from the corners.

Tristan immediately became more focused, alternating between his Shadow Dagger and Rain of Corruption to easily rack up large amounts of experience.

Though the leveling process wasn’t as exhilarating as the goblin valley, Tristan’s high damage output meant that every strike was a kill, and with the Toxic Blood Plague spreading, his efficiency was through the roof.

After only an hour, he had enough experience.

"You have reached level 17!"

"You have earned 5 free attribute points!"

"The power of shadows gathers within you; you have gained an additional 5 free attribute points!"

"Beast Blessing activated; you have gained an additional 5 free attribute points!"

After a busy hour, Tristan stopped what he was doing, wiped the nonexistent sweat from his forehead, and sighed, "Leveling is really exhausting."

If other players heard him, they’d probably slap him with a shoe.

"Is that even a complaint?" they’d say. "Leveling up in just over an hour and you’re not happy?"

Tristan opened the level leaderboard again. He was still three levels ahead of Ivan, but the gap wasn’t big enough for him to relax. He didn’t feel like he had enough of an advantage yet.

"When will I find another goblin valley?" he thought, a bit eager.

In less than half an hour, he had gained three levels, and he truly wanted to experience it again.

Just as Tristan was preparing to push forward and reach level 20, he received a message from Drake: "Shadow Legion is gathering in Sonar City. Looks like something big is happening."

Sonar City was one of the twelve main cities, located by the sea. The fact that Shadow Legion was assembling there was a sign that something important was going down.

Soon after, Drake sent another message: "Apparently, someone in Sonar City has spotted a Dark Gold Grade BOSS!"

A Dark Gold Grade BOSS—now that was certainly something worth making a big deal about.

Tristan thought for a moment and replied, "Got it. I’ll check it out."

Now that he knew a Dark Gold Grade BOSS was involved, Tristan wouldn’t sit idly by.

Plus, this was a BOSS that DarkSaber had been trying to hunt—he definitely couldn’t miss out.

On the other side, upon seeing Tristan’s reply, Drake immediately messaged the team: "Stop leveling for now. Let’s head to Sonar City for some action."

Assassin asked, "Is Blackshade going to Sonar City?"

Cleric Sophie analyzed, "Blackshade has plenty of reasons to go. It’s a Dark Gold Grade BOSS, and even if he has already killed one before, he’ll never turn down more Dark Gold Grade gear. He’ll definitely want to get in on this."

"Also, remember when DarkSaber had a run-in with Blackshade back in the starter village? Now DarkSaber wants to hunt a BOSS. Blackshade definitely won’t let him have it easy."

"This time, it looks like we’ll have a front-row seat to some real drama."
