"That was too close," Elder Hue sighed in relief, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead.

Dong Tian Di had asked him a single, piercing question: whether he had aided Liang in his escape.

"It’s good that I genuinely have no idea how Liang managed to escape," Elder Hue muttered to himself. The mere thought of Dong Tian Di probing further into his involvement made his heart race, knowing full well that the consequences could be fatal.

The immense pride he had felt after ascending to the divine expert level crumbled in the presence of Dong Tian Di. Despite both of them being at the divine level, the disparity between their powers was astronomical.

Elder Hue had barely formed one divine spark, while Dong Tian Di had already formed six.

"Liang escaped from the Dong Clan?" Yue Xin’s eyes widened in astonishment.

Chess Paragon nodded, a wry smile playing on his lips. "He even left the solar system," he said, chuckling as if recalling a fond memory. "That rascal even asked this old man for help entering the Dong Clan’s secret realm."

"Primordial Rune Secret Realm," Yue Xin murmured thoughtfully. She knew of the secret realm, but entering it seemed an insurmountable challenge for her current self.

"Hmph, don’t concern yourself with such matters. I can help you break through to the Divine Level easily," Chess Paragon scoffed. "But remember, cultivation realms aren’t everything."

Yue Xin frowned slightly, curiosity piqued. "Then what is everything?"

Chess Paragon stroked his beard, his expression turning solemn. "There’s no such thing as everything. But one thing stands above all else: Longevity. As long as you live and have time, what’s so difficult?"

His words struck Yue Xin deeply. "Outlive them?" she repeated, feeling a mix of awe and confusion. Inwardly, she wondered if he was suggesting she hide and wait for her enemies to die out. She struggled to reconcile this advice with the powerful figure she remembered from her past life.

Shaking off her distracting thoughts, she asked, "Master, since Liang asked for your help, why did he run? Wasn’t he about to become their son-in-law?"

Chess Paragon chuckled, stroking his beard. "He probably didn’t want to marry into the Dong Clan. They’re quite overbearing about lineage; his children would have to take the Dong surname."

He sighed, reminiscing. "Years ago, I loved a girl from the Dong Clan, but that old fart Dong Jue insisted that any children we had must bear the Dong name. Naturally, I rejected his proposal and went off to cultivate on my own."

Yue Xin’s eyes sparkled with surprise; it was the first time she had heard this story. She now understood some of the motives driving Chess Paragon in her past life.

After the emergence of the Heavenly Will Palace, the domain had turned upside down. Internal strife erupted everywhere, and wars raged for a thousand years. Many top factions and powers were obliterated. Even two of the five most powerful factions ceased to exist. Those were dark times, with countless planets and civilizations annihilated. Mortals suffered the most, and it was estimated that half of the living beings in the domain perished.

Evil spirits, Yin demons, and corpse cultivators dominated, spreading terror and despair.

Recalling those dark times, Yue Xin felt grateful for her second chance.

"Oh, right. Get yourself ready; it’s time we left for the Heaven Fortune Domain," Chess Paragon said quietly before leaving.

"Heaven Fortune Domain, the grand auction," Yue Xin murmured. If someone were to ask when it all started, the auction would be the answer. Excitement flickered in her eyes. In the final round of the auction, countless unbelievable treasures would emerge one after another, presented by the All Things Pavilion.

Heaven and earth wonders heralded the age of chaos.

Though it was a dark time for most, for truly powerful experts, it was an era of opportunity. Countless geniuses thrived, and the battle for supremacy spread everywhere. Everyone had one purpose: to become the Domain Lord.

Looking at the planet before him, Liang couldn’t help but feel a surge of surprise. What had happened here?

Spiritdrift World. In a mortal city, Liang suddenly emerged from the void.

Scanning the area with his Ethereal Will, his face darkened. He couldn’t detect a single strand of spiritual qi in the air.

He vanished and reappeared in various locations, but it was the same everywhere—no spiritual qi.

What does this mean? Liang frowned, perplexed.

Spiritual qi levels had been dropping, but not to the point of extinction.

Someone must have done this. A thought struck him, the Thousand Derivations Rune emerged in the air, forming countless threads that dug into the void.

After a considerable time, the threads vanished.

Liang narrowed his eyes.

Someone had placed a sealing formation on all the earth veins around the planet. His mouth nearly dropped at the realization.

Who could be so free and bored to do such a thing? Did they want to cut off the cultivation path from this world, and if so, why?

Although the matter was strange, it was not of immediate concern to him. He quickly retrieved the Earth Spirit Compass from his space ring and channeled his power into it. Instantly, the compass began to shine brightly, and a yellow ray of light emerged diving into the earth. Several dots appeared one after another on the compass.

Liang frowned slightly. All these were just peripheral earth veins; they weren’t what he was looking for. He traveled to different locations, repeating the process, but the results were the same.

"Strange," he muttered to himself. "I can sense the location of every vein exactly, but when I get closer to the Heavenly Earth Vein, the compass just shows it as an empty spot."

Even though the results were disappointing, he wasn’t disheartened. If finding the vein were so easy, it wouldn’t be so valuable. Only things that are difficult to find are worth the effort.

He arrived at another location—Paradise City, or what remained of it.

Taking out the compass again, he activated it. As before, a yellow ray of light emerged and dug deep into the ground. Moments later, a strange expression appeared on Liang’s face. This time, the results were different. Instead of several dots, only one dot appeared on the compass.

But strangely, this dot was moving. Indeed, it was moving non-stop from place to place. Liang couldn’t help but be amused.

Could this be the vein heart? But why was it moving? No, the right question should be how was it moving?

A thought suddenly struck him, and the Voidforge Rune appeared before him. The rune began to multiply, forming thousands of runes. The miniature void runes connected, forming a large net. The net disappeared and reappeared in the void above the planet, expanding to an unimaginable size, covering the entire planet. Spiritdrift World was a small planet, sealing it wasn’t hard for Liang.

Now that the world was sealed, a smile appeared on Liang’s face. He waved his hand, and instantly, the Chaos Rune appeared in the air. The rune began to vibrate, sending a chaotic wave through the earth. On the compass, the moving dot suddenly stopped.

Liang’s eyes flickered with excitement. Waving his hand, the Chaos Rune began to change, finally turning into a small serpent.

The serpent swiftly dug into the ground.

On the compass, the dot that had stopped suddenly began to move quickly. Another dot appeared behind it on the compass, moving fast and trying to catch the first dot.

From place to place, the two dots moved in a very fast and strange way.

"It seems that the heart of the vein is the anomaly," Liang mused, his eyes flickering with realization. "That would only mean one thing."

"This should be the consciousness of the Primordial Beginning Vein fragment."

Even if it wasn’t, he was sure this thing would be invaluable. It had its own consciousness and could move around the earth vein.

Even if there was no Primordial Beginning fragment, this creation of heaven and earth was worth all the effort.

Back at the Dong Clan, Elder Hue couldn’t shake off the unease that gripped his heart. The encounter with Dong Tian Di had left him rattled. Despite his divine status, the chasm between them was insurmountable.

He glanced around nervously, ensuring no one was watching. He knew he had to be careful. One wrong move, one suspicious action, and his life could be forfeit. The Dong Clan was not known for its leniency.

Meanwhile, in a hidden chamber far from prying eyes, Dong Tian Di sat in deep meditation. His mind, however, was not at peace. The escape of Liang was a thorn in his side. How had he slipped through their fingers? And who had helped him?

As he meditated, a faint presence made itself known. Dong Tian Di’s eyes snapped open, his aura flaring with power. "Who dares?"

A shadowy figure emerged from the darkness, bowing deeply. "My lord, news from the outer realms. Liang has been spotted on a world called Spiritdrift World."

Dong Tian Di’s eyes narrowed. "Spiritdrift World, you say?"
