"What are you guys doing? Go check them thoroughly. We can’t allow strangers to enter our sacred place unchecked. The females are no exception!"

Ximen Lin Bo had briefed the guards. That was why they were in a position to make a move. Hearing the order, the guards almost immediately tried to approach Tang Shaoyang’s group. They only took one step before stopping again.

"STOP!"

Old Zhou shouted immediately, stopping the guards from approaching Tang Shaoyang’s group. He didn’t know why, but he became nervous and felt a bad premonition from this interaction. His instinct told him that he could not allow this to happen.

He realized what scared him, Tang Shaoyang. This man had been provoking the Alliance Leader to fight, but the Alliance Leader didn’t fall to the provocation. But now the ignorant Ximen Lin Bo was throwing himself at Tang Shaoyang, giving Tang Shaoyang what he wanted.

"If you insist on acting arbitrarily in the Murim Alliance, this will not end here, Ximen Lin Bo!" As he said that, the Warden appeared on the roof.

At the sight of the Warden, the guards quickly stepped back. The major factions might know little about the Warden, but the Murim Alliance’s guards knew them very well. The Warden was the same as the Alliance Leader’s order.

"The Alliance Leader has tolerated you all this time, but you will pay the price if you play your stupid game in this situation!"

Ximen Lin Bo snickered at Old Zhou’s threat. That threat was weak; he dared to act like this because of the current situation. The Murim Alliance needed them to fight off the Heaven Founder, so the Alliance Leader would not take a risk that might antagonize the Ximen Family. "Don’t be stupid just for a suspicious person like him, Old Zhou. With the current situation, the Alliance Leader needs us the most right now. Are you really going to cause an internal conflict for him, Old Zhou?"

The current situation was indeed a double-edged sword for them. Ximen Lin Bo was right that the Murim Alliance needed the major factions.

"This is the Alliance Leader’s order! Are you going to go against the Alliance Leader’s order?"

Ximen Lin Bo grew even more arrogant the moment he spotted Old Zhou’s weakness, "Alliance Leader Zhong is not the only one inside. The Ximen Family’s head is also inside. We must make sure they are safe before we allow them to enter the hall."

"Then tell your family head to leave! I am here not to meet your family’s head anyway!"

Ximen Lin Bo snapped toward the voice, meeting with Tang Shaoyang’s gaze.

"Do you just try to chase away the Ximen Family’s head from the Murim Alliance?"

Tang Shaoyang shrugged, "I am here to meet with the Alliance Leader. It has nothing to do with any family or sect. If the Ximen Family is worried about their family head, then you should bring him back to your home. I am here under the Alliance Leader’s invitation, and in fact, I am doing this as a favor for the Alliance Leader because he wants to meet with my disciple."

"If anyone has to leave, it’s you!" Ximen Lin Bo raised his voice and pointed his finger at Tang Shaoyang, "You are not part of the Murim Alliance. You don’t deserve to be here!"

Tang Shaoyang chuckled, "Then I will leave. As I said, I am doing a favor for the Alliance Leader, not like I need anything from him or the Murim Alliance."

He turned around, but then Ximen Lin Bo’s voice rang once more, "Who told you you can leave? Do you think this is your brothel that anyone can enter and leave as they like!? This is the Murim Alliance!"

He then signaled to the guards, "Stop them!"

The guards didn’t hesitate this time, putting their bodies to block the way back. It meant Tang Shaoyang must pass them through if he wanted to leave.

Tang Shaoyang turned toward Ximen Lin Bo, ignoring the guards who had their swords out of their sheaths.

"Of course, I can come and leave as I wish. I can even flatten this Murim Alliance if I desire to," He shook his head, "AS for you, do you think a small fry like you can stop me?"

"You’d better give up if you think of resisting. We will not show mercy once you fall into our hands!" Ximen Lin Bo grinned ear to ear.

This was what he expected from provoking Tang Shaoyang. A fight, a reason to capture Tang Shaoyang, and it boosted their pride. Alliance Leader cowered in front of the brothel’s owner, but the Ximen Family could do what the Alliance Leader could not.

This might not be enough to put the Ximen Family ahead of the other families in the race for the next Alliance Leader, but this would boost their clan’s prestige if it were known.

Tang Shaoyang looked at the door-like gate into the reception hall. Those people inside should be aware of what happened outside. Since they didn’t interfere, it meant they wanted to use the Ximen Family as bait to test him out. That included the Alliance Leader.

"A small fry like you is not enough to stop me. You need your Family Head... Ah, I forgot that your family head is so weak that he needs someone like you to protect him. I guess the Ximen Family is just a bunch of small fries."

"TAKE THOSE WORDS BACK!" Ximen Lin Bo bellowed as he took out his blade.

When he received no response from Tang Shaoyang in three seconds, he signaled the guards to capture Tang Shaoyang’s group, "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR? KILL THESE IGNORANT FOOLS!"

The guards were waiting for the order. They also wanted to fight this group for what happened yesterday. They didn’t hesitate to attack. The same with the other Elders from the Ximen Family. They tried to surround Tang Shaoyang’s group with numbers.

Ximen Lin Bo acted as the spearhead, making the first move. His eyes locked on Tang Shaoyang, but then Tang Shaoyang’s figure disappeared from his sight. That caught him off guard because he could not sense or detect the movement.

He was about to look around until a massive force hit his back, pinning him to the ground. That was when he realized that he was caught, without being able to do anything.
