Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy-Chapter 993: The Auction’s Main Item
Chapter 993: The Auction’s Main Item
Vale turned to the masked merchant, pointing briefly toward the nine preserved corpses displayed near the corner.
"What about those?" he asked.
The merchant’s masked face turned slightly, and he replied.
"They’re not for direct sale. Those are part of tonight’s auction—four hours from now. We’re simply displaying them for preview. Buyers like to study the goods before bidding."
Vale nodded slowly, understanding.
That makes sense. They want to build anticipation—and let buyers estimate value ahead of time.
"Anything else being auctioned?" he asked casually.
The merchant only chuckled. "More than you’d expect. Just wait and see."
With that in mind, Vale left the stall and resumed his browsing. He still had time, and he didn’t intend to waste it.
He moved stall to stall, carefully selecting only the items that he could possibly purchase in bulk later on and extract resources from.
As always, he kept a calm demeanor as he looked around, like all the other customers.
Soon, one of the items caught his attention.
According to the merchant, it was a Demonic Soul Pearl encased in a dark silver box. It is said to have belonged to a Demon General of the Demon Realm.
Just by looking at it, Vale knew that he’d be able to extract a lot of Demonic Essence or energy from it.
"42 Divine Crystals..." the vendor said, barely glancing up.
Vale wanted to hand over the payment without negotiation, but since he saw that everyone was trying to haggle, he decided to try...
"30..." Vale said.
"Tsk... 38 Divine Crystals. If you can’t, leave." The vendor said
"Alright... I’ll take it." Vale said as he held the pearl...

Later, Vale mused, storing the item into his ring.
Next, he found a Sealed Phoenix Talon, scorched black and wrapped in a magical bandage. It radiated a faint heat despite its bindings, and the vendor claimed it came from a Fallen Phoenix Lord—whatever that meant.
Vale didn’t need to know the full story. All that mattered was the response from his system.
"Price?" he asked.
"Fifty-five Divine Crystals. Nothing less." The man firmly said.
Seeing his attitude, Vale decided not to negotiate...
"Done."
[ Energy Source has been discovered. Would you like to start the extraction? ]
After confirming that he could indeed extract it, he moved on to another merchant selling vials and jars, and purchased a few of them that had a certain amount of energy... He knew that if he was able to extract good things from it, he would be able to save a lot...
Still, as he finished purchasing the vials, one caught his eye...
It was a jar containing three suspended Basilisk Tears. There seemed to be a Formation Array on the jar as it held the three tears in a vortex of wind.
"Eighty Divine Crystals..." the vendor said.
It was quite steep, but since this item couldn’t be sold in bulk due to its rarity, it was quite understandable. It was unlike those vials that were only sold for two or three Divine Crystals after all.
"Fifty..." Vale offered.
The vendor didn’t immediately speak as he closed his eyes.
"Not possible." The vendor replied after a few moments.
"Alright... I’ll pay sixty-five... That’s my last offer." Vale said. The reason he was willing to pay that much was because he felt a faint Shadow Divinity from the tears. If not, he wouldn’t even bother purchasing this.
The vendor sighed as he still didn’t like the price... However, it had been a couple of weeks since the three Basilisk Tears came into his hands. In just a couple more days, he had to redo the Formation Arts that were sealing or protecting it.
The tears were quite special after all.
If not with the Wind Formation Array, its value would drop tremendously.
"Alright... Sixty-five it is." The vendor said. He gave in to the offer to avoid further loses...
Vale then paid the price... He had a feeling that this one, too, would serve him well.
His final large purchase for the hour was a Fragmented Immortal Spine, labeled as once belonging to a Lower-Tier Earth Immortal.
A portion of it was cracked and missing, but it still pulsed with lingering power. The Earth Immortal doesn’t seem to be a human immortal, as the Spine was a bit too different from humans.
The vendor claimed it had been pulled from a battlefield in another realm controlled by the Shadow Sect.
In the end, Vale decided to just purchase it since it was cheap, 40 Divine Crystals. He couldn’t purchase it in bulk, but he had a feeling that he might get something from it because the spine didn’t come from a human immortal.
"Alright... Should I find a place to rest?" He muttered to himself after completing the purchase.
Just as he was about to check a place, a figure drifted past him and leaned close—a passing vendor with a sly smile...
"Ohh... Are you about to leave? You might want to stay a little longer," the vendor said quietly. "Auction starts in just a few hours... and there’s quite a lineup. I just noticed that you’ve purchased quite a lot from my friends."
Vale tilted his head slightly. "Right... I heard about it. It includes the nine corpses on display."
The vendor chuckled...
"Not just that... They’re selling a full corpse of a Twilight Walker—and word is, there’s even a relic from the Arcane Immortal Realm in the catalog this time."
Vale’s eyes narrowed.
Twilight Walker?
He wasn’t entirely familiar with the title, but the name alone conjured something mysterious.
He asked about it.
The vendor replied softly...
"The Twilight Walker is a High Immortal... You can say that they’re the natural enemies of Dimensional Creatures, as they also live in the void... Yes, they’re preying on Dimensional Creatures—or anything else that wanders the void. They’re almost never seen unless they’re hunting."
A predator of predators.
This was interesting information.
Vale then thanked the man as he decided to find a place to pass the time and perhaps start the extraction.
