Chapter 60: Chaoter 60: Back to the Cave

"They are not far from here." Ma Yongcheng furrowed his brows. He took a deep breath and nodded, confirming it. The result was still the same; his earlier words unchanged.

It seemed that Leng Chuan’s siblings were quite far from the cave when Qi Mian told them about this place. By a coincidence, they even joined the village head’s group.

Leng Chuan was quite relieved about this point. If they had a lot of people with them, his siblings’ chance at survival was greater.

However, when he thought that they were currently separated from Ma Yongcheng’s village head’s group, he couldn’t help but feel anxious about them again.

"Different directions? Three directions?" Leng Chuan repeated, wanting to make sure they were all nearby.

"No, there’s only two." Ma Yongcheng shook his head, making Leng Chuan’s head sink. Leng Chuan didn’t even know why his siblings were separated from each other in this perilous forest.

"Follow the strongest scent." Xie Ziyuan suddenly spoke.

Ma Yongcheng even considered splitting the team into two. Now that he thought about it again, Xie Ziyuan’s idea sounded the safest one. If they were separated, they might encounter a danger they couldn’t handle.

With more people, their power naturally would be stronger.

"The strongest scent is that way," As soon as they were outside of the cave, Ma Yongcheng pointed to their right. "One sibling should be nearby."

Leng Chuan nodded solemnly, not refuting Xie Ziyuan’s decision. The group of four set off with Ma Yongcheng leading them based on his sense of smell.

Although Lin Yu’an was the quietest one among them, he also learned along the way, analyzing and thinking. When the group was resting or had nothing to do, Ma Yongcheng, the seasoned hunter, would teach him how to use a crossbow.

Yesterday, as they waited for the meeting time with Qi Tao’s mysterious identity, their group went hunting for the village in order to refrain them from dealing with Elder Peng and the wolf beastman.

Lin Yu’an learned how to fire more accurately. The youth’s attitude toward learning was very serious, which made Ma Yongcheng delighted to teach him.

Deep in his heart, Lin Yu’an also felt proud he didn’t disappoint Xie Ziyuan and others during their trip. He wasn’t as troubled as he initially thought without his sister’s presence.

At this moment, he realized that Xie Ziyuan was trying to tamper his will. He clutched his crossbow tightly.

"There is someone," he mumbled, staring at the dot in his vision which was gradually getting bigger.

A beastman was running toward them.

Leng Chuan snapped his head toward the direction Lin Yu’an was looking at. His shoulders subconsciously tensed.

Unfortunately, as the beastman drew closer, it wasn’t any of his siblings. But the beastman recognized Ma Yongcheng. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"Yongcheng!" The beastman shrieked. "Help! Help me!"

Behind the beastman was a huge tiger chasing after him. There was a torn cloth in its mouth, most likely from the beastman’s clothes.

He appeared so disheveled. Leaves and small branches sticking to his hair. Dirt smeared all over his skin with bruises everywhere. This beastman was, fortunately, very quick. It was also the reason why he had survived until now.

Ma Yongcheng and Leng Chuan immediately acted, helping the beastman to fight the tiger while Lin Yu’an used this opportunity to practice his shooting.

Lin Yu’an’s arrow didn’t always hit the target and sometimes it did no damage besides making the tiger distracted. Suddenly, an arrow hit its hind leg, and the fierce beast let out an earth-shattering roar.

It abandoned the fight with Leng Chuan and Ma Yongcheng, heading to Lin Yu’an. Unfortunately for the tiger. Xie Ziyuan was standing beside the little black cat. As such, before it could even get close, it was already kicked away.

The tiger was just a second-order rank fierce beast, and with Xie Ziyuan’s power, it was easily subdued. It twitched and lay weakly on the ground.

Some of its bones were already shattered.

"Woah!" The beastman exclaimed in shock, staring at Xie Ziyuan with wide eyes. He soon adjusted his emotions and didn’t forget to thank him for saving him.

Before he could approach Xie Ziyuan with his beggar-like appearance, Ma Yongcheng already pulled him away. "How come you are here?"

The beastman nodded. "We are looking for some people. But... but... I got separated from the group too in the process." The man sighed. "They have one more person they need to find now."

Ma Yongcheng’s mouth twitched. How unreliable!

"Are you looking for Leng Jun and his younger siblings?" Leng Chuan came over and asked.

The beastman looked at him in surprise. "How do you know without me telling you? Are you a worm in my stomach?"

They were convinced this guy was a little crazy now. However, Leng Chuan didn’t get angry. He answered honestly. "I am their older brother."

"Huh?" The beastman tilted his head. "You are the brother they are looking for? Let me tell you, the village head already told them not to come here but the three of them secretly ran away."

Leng Chuan pursed his lips and didn’t answer. It indeed sounded like something his troublemaker younger siblings would do.

"It’s also that female beastman’s fault." He snorted. "She actually incited your younger siblings to run away. I happened to overhear her telling them you might be gone if they didn’t hurry."

Ma Yongcheng sneered. Sure enough, that green tea bish had lied.

"Then, let’s hurry." Leng Chuan decided.

The beastmen was a little confused but he still went along with them. Seeing Ma Yongcheng and Leng Chuan so focused with a serious face, he went to find someone else to talk to.

Xie Ziyuan was just like the two, but in a more scary way, so he shifted his target to the quiet Lin Yu’an. "Little brother, what is your name? Where did you all come from? Are you also looking for Leng Jun and others?"

The way he shot so many questions at once made Lin Yu’an dizzy. He really couldn’t handle this frighteningly chatty beastman. He was like a destructive husky...

Fortunately, their brief conversation was interrupted.

They finally spotted one of Leng Chuan’s younger siblings.
