Apocalyptic Beastworld: A Farming Space Dimension to Another World-Chapter 25: Scoundrel Fiance
When lunch break came, unexpectedly, Han Zhicong came again to her. Her face was full of scowl. She hadn’t even got the chance to check on her Yuanyuan again before this scoundrel came looking for another trouble.
Su Yining was absolutely furious.
"Yining, wait, wait! Don’t get angry. Listen to me first." Han Zhicong’s heart almost leaped out of his chest when he saw the murderous look on her face.
"What?" She retorted begrudgingly.
He scratched the back of his head. "I need your help..."
During the lunch break, the two were engaged in a surprisingly peaceful discussion. Su Yining’s eyes were full of contemplation while Han Zhicong waited for her with a hopeful look on his face.
This time, he learned to be patient and kept his mouth shut no matter how impatient he felt.
"I will think about it," she told him before she packed her lunch box. The lunch break was over and they needed to go back to work.
Han Zhicong followed her, standing up. "When can you give me the definite time?"
Su Yining rolled her eyes at him, a little suspicious. "Impatient, are we?"
He had been so anxious since this morning. It was certain this man was under some sort of pressure. Han Zhicong pursed his lips. "After work?"
"I’ll contact you later." She waved her hand and walked away.
Initially, she was surprised by the method that Han Zhicong proposed. However, for now, it indeed sounded like the best solution for her current problem.
As long as she could live peacefully anymore.
When she left the work, she was a few minutes early, so she didn’t find Chen Kaixuan’s figure anywhere. Much to her relief. Or perhaps Han Zhicong had any hand in this.
She returned home quickly, afraid she would meet him somewhere. That man was like a leech sucking a human’s blood, hard to pull and get rid of once he saw her.
Upon arriving home, she locked her door. The sound of clicking from the lock made her a little relieved. She subconsciously let out a sigh and collapsed to the floor, leaning against the door.
She stayed like that for a few minutes before she heard someone knocking on her door. Her face darkened.
"Su Yining, open the door!" Chen Kaixuan’s voice rang from outside. "I know you are inside."
She covered her mouth. Unfortunately, she was still leaning against the door. Slowly, she dragged her body away, not willing to let out the slightest sound which could let him know she was inside.
The shadow from the window flashed by. She sat rooted to her spot, no longer daring to drag herself away for fear he might see her shadow.
She sat not far from the door.
When he finally got impatient and left, she heaved a sigh of relief and rubbed her chest. The last remaining strength from working today had left her body.
She still forced herself to get up and took a shower. After making something simple in the kitchen for dinner, she fell asleep.
Xie Ziyuan watched as the clock struck twelve again. Another day had just begun. That woman hadn’t come again.
His condition had improved considerably.
"Master Xie?" Lin Yuyao had a surprised look on her face. It was just this morning when he had told them he was going to enter seclusion. Yet, he had come out so soon.
Xie Ziyuan kept his face impassive. He was a little embarrassed but he wouldn’t show it. His senses covered the area around them, even the little black cat Lin Yu’an who was sitting not far from them.
So far, there was no other existence. He scanned a few times before he made sure that the ghostly woman hadn’t come to the two siblings.
Originally, he wanted to ask them about her, but he couldn’t find suitable words. What should he call her? Ghostly woman? He realized he didn’t even know her name.
Or her species...
They might regard him as crazy. Hence, he refrained himself for now.
A flash of awkwardness crossed his face. In a split second, his face became a little more stern. "Did you settle the new residents?"
Lin Yuyao nodded, making some reports about them. She didn’t forget to mention the keys for their room. She thought she would need to wait for a few days until Xie Ziyuan came out of seclusion.
Luckily, he went out again to find them. He must have been worried about the new residents.
"The keys?" Xie Ziyuan revealed a thoughtful look. The keys should be in the control room in the underground base. "I’ll get it tomorrow."
Lin Yuyao smiled and nodded. The castle was completely dark now because it was night time, so it was hard to search for things. Resources were scarce. Even the communal rooms were only allocated a few sticks of candles each.
There were many items in the warehouse she and Lin Yu’an just opened this morning, but they also wouldn’t squander them. They always kept the keys on their bodies even when they slept.
Although they already knew the entrance to the underground base, they didn’t wander in too deeply without Xie Ziyuan’s permission.
Lin Yu’an somehow already approached the two. He looked up to Xie Ziyuan a little timidly. He had heard about his sister’s discussion with Xie Ziyuan.
His sister must have forgotten about it, so he had to remind her. "Master Xie, do you want to eat something for dinner?"
A realization dawned on Lin Yuyao’s face. She widened her eyes and turned to Xie Ziyuan. She hadn’t asked him about this!
Xie Ziyuan stared at the ashes below the roasting rack. It must have been the utensils the siblings had gotten out from the warehouse. The fire had cooled down. It would take another effort for both of them to cook again.
He shook his head. "I already have dinner. There is a kitchen in the watchtower."
The siblings didn’t ask anything further and he dismissed the two of them.
There were still a total of 66 portions fo white rice left even when he took three portions each meal. He was a high-level beastman, so it was natural that his appetite was big.
Xie Ziyuan went back to the watchtower and entered his inner space. He decided to write to that woman first.
Or so he thought...
But now, once he faced the mailbox post himself, he didn’t know what to write. He stared at the white paper in contemplation. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
Finally he let out a sigh and asked, "Did I make you angry?"
