Apocalypse Circular-Chapter 462 Facing Destruction
To be honest, Noah didn’t want to go any further. He felt that going there with his Eighth Order strength was akin to walking to his death. This might sound absurd, but if what Yang said was true, this conclusion was pretty much a certainty. He was strong—that was true in the outside world—but here, he was weak!
"Noah, do we still want to go?" Yang sensed Noah’s hesitation and asked.
Noah indeed began to hesitate. Perhaps he really shouldn’t continue moving inward. He had just started to experience this sort of wonderful life. Now that Yang had gained the ability to speak, what if he left this place?
"We continue; we can’t back down at this time."
"Why? Going further in will be very dangerous. If you’re not confident..."
"Not everything has to be certain before you do it. Humans are different from machines, Yang, do you understand?"
Yang shook her head, not quite understanding what Noah meant by that. And Noah didn’t continue to explain.
"If we back down from everything, humans would never have evolved from those weak creatures to the dominant species of the world as they are now. They like to gamble, and strangely enough, they always seem to win. After becoming human, I also realized that sometimes you really need to take a risk. Without struggle, there’s no chance at all. But if you fight for it, maybe..."
As Noah said this, his voice was very low, as if he was talking to himself or perhaps it was a form of self-suggestion.
He was already a human, so that meant he should possess some traits that humans should have. Like gambling? Or, in other words, fighting for a future. Fighting for a chance for him and Yang to leave together.

Lu Luo slowly made his way to the center of the Doomsday Disc, the black sun hanging above his head. The surrounding light sources were continuously absorbed by the black sun, plunging Lu Luo’s vicinity into darkness. Beneath his feet were the ring-shaped Sequence Glyphs. Although the black fog had completely covered the ground of the Doomsday Disc, Lu Luo could still feel the presence of these glyphs through physical contact.
These black fogs... could they all be Sequences?
Lu Luo sensed something abnormal about the dense blackness; it wasn’t simply being absorbed but seemed to be decomposing into some kind of particulate state.
These black fogs... they’re aggregates of Sequence particles.
They were quite unique, yet their existence had a certain logic to it.
[Observer: You’ve reached the middle now. What do you want to do next?]
"I don’t know." Lu Luo shook his head. His approach had been very smooth; even upon reaching the very center of the Doomsday Disc, he had not encountered any severe obstructions. The Destroyer that had briefly revealed itself earlier now seemed to have gone silent, showing no intention of emerging. However, Lu Luo currently couldn’t determine whether the black sun in the sky was the Destroyer itself or something else.
"First, I need to confirm the purpose of my coming here," Lu Luo said, his expression slightly strange as he listed the tasks ahead. "Figure out the state of the Doomsday Disc, then cleanse the environment here. Deal with the Destroyer and regain control of the Doomsday Disc!"
He didn’t even realize that as he spoke, the whites of his eyes had gradually turned black. Combined with Lu Luo’s naturally dark pupils, his eyes resembled the night itself.
This change wasn’t only happening to him; even the Observer seemed unaware. What was happening to Lu Luo was obviously abnormal. The Observer’s capabilities inherently included comprehensive self-checks and environmental scans. But now, Lu Luo himself seemed slow-witted and dull, and the Observer exhibited the same condition. And they were both completely oblivious to their own states.
"So, next, I should fly up and make contact with that black sphere. No matter what it really is, when it comes to solving the problem, only direct contact will reveal a solution."
[Observer: Yes.]
Lu Luo repeated the plan in a dazed manner, and the Observer affirmed it. The entire plan was crude and flimsy, lacking any probing actions—a stark contrast to Lu Luo’s usual approach. If it had been the normal Lu Luo, he would have used various methods to test the black sphere at this time. But now, he didn’t.
His body was already floating slowly towards the sky. The black sun was very high; Lu Luo had been flying for a long time but still maintained some distance from the black sphere. However, at this rate, it was only a matter of time before he made contact with it.
As time ticked by, not only his eyes but also his face and most of his body had turned black. The distance between him and the black sphere was now less than a hundred meters.
Just as the two were about to merge, Noah’s voice suddenly sounded in Lu Luo’s ear.
"Lu Luo, you don’t look so good. Do you still have the strength to fight me now?" Noah’s tone was full of mockery and provocation.
Lu Luo, in his blackened state, seemed to show a slight reaction to Noah’s provocative words; his eyes twitched. However, this reaction wasn’t very strong; the white in Lu Luo’s eyes flashed only for a moment before they returned to their pitch-black state.
Noah, watching from below, frowned slightly. Lu Luo’s condition was obviously abnormal, and Noah had figured it out.
As an enemy, he had no need to remind Lu Luo right now. Lu Luo’s death would benefit him. But the question was, would this place return to normal if Lu Luo died? If Lu Luo died, it seemed the only living people left here would be him and Yang. Could he really resolve the matter of the black sun in the sky alone? And that thing Yang mentioned, even more terrifying than the black sun, still hadn’t appeared. So, should he save Lu Luo?
"Noah, what do we do now? That guy seems to have a problem; his body is so dark!" Yang’s anxious voice further muddled Noah’s thoughts, but he quickly cleared his head and made a decision.
"We have to save that guy. No matter what, we are all human."
This reasoning sounded somewhat absurd. Although they were enemies, in this environment, they were both human. As an Eighth Order Exotic Species Monarch, he had also received an invitation from Meiqi. It was just that Meiqi’s invitation to him wasn’t as grand as the one extended to Lu Luo. But Noah had declined. He had declined because he had finally become human, a decision made after much consideration. Having become human, he would not revert to being an Exotic Species—not even a high-level one like an Angel Envoy!
"Lu Luo, you idiot, can’t you hear me? Last time you got away, but this time I won’t let you off so easily. Speak up, you idiot! Why aren’t you talking? Are you scared?"
Noah began to try to enrage Lu Luo with his words. If anything could snap a person out of their current state quickly, anger was definitely the best choice. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Indeed, under Noah’s continuous provocation, Lu Luo began to struggle in the sky. His eyeballs were the first to turn black, and as he gradually regained his senses, they were also the first to turn white again. But his eyeballs turning white alone wasn’t enough to make a decisive difference. At this moment, Lu Luo was completely shrouded in black, as if he had been soaked in ink.
With his eyes cleared of the blackness, he seemed much more lucid. He wanted to glance at Noah on the ground and curse at him a few times as a strange form of thanks. Yet he couldn’t even manage such a simple action. The black energy had completely engulfed his body, merging with it, and was now undergoing some sort of transformation. His body, undergoing this energy transformation, was already slipping from his control.
This situation is really terrible. I was completely caught off guard. That guy, Noah... he must be trying to warn me, right?
Lu Luo was in a foul mood. Normally, the Observer would give a prompt at the first sign of danger. But not this time. Although he was instinctively alert, he had ultimately relied on the Observer too much. However, he didn’t blame the Observer now; it would be pointless. It seems this is inevitable!
Lu Luo felt his stiff body and tried to muster his strength. The Unbeliever could only offer him some protection at this moment, weakening the power of the black sun, but it couldn’t grant him the ability to fight back.
If he wanted to resist, he’d have to rely on himself!
"Devourer!"
BOOM! A massive tentacle burst from the ground, splitting in two. One part shot towards Noah, while the other stabbed at Lu Luo himself. This was undoubtedly Lu Luo’s final act of self-rescue.
DING! The tentacle, already on the verge of being corrupted by the blackness, touched Lu Luo’s body. Lu Luo’s body was undeniably much blacker than anything else, having absorbed an immense amount of the black mist. So much so that the tentacle turned pitch-black the moment it made contact with him.
But this was already enough.
On the Doomsday Disc, the Devourer’s power was limitless. Although the Destroyer might have a similar effect in the Disc World, this was Lu Luo’s last chance. He had no choice.
World-Devouring Core!
A vast amount of black mist was absorbed by the Devourer’s tentacle, rapidly converging from Lu Luo’s body into it. This absorption was extremely fast, yet it did little to change Lu Luo’s current situation. There was just too much black mist on Lu Luo. Even though the Devourer’s tentacle absorbed a substantial amount of black mist in a short time, it couldn’t free Lu Luo from its restraint.
This restraint wasn’t exactly overt control, but rather a suppression exerted by the Sequence particles on Lu Luo himself. There was an overwhelming amount of Sequence energy and particles, so much that their natural collision with Lu Luo’s body rendered him immobile.
However, after the Devourer diligently absorbed for a period, Lu Luo’s head had mostly returned to its original color. This, at least, allowed his mind to clear. Only with a clear mind could he do more and make the most accurate judgments.
Ten meters... five meters... four... three... two... one...
The tip of Lu Luo’s nose and his hair were the first to touch the black sun. The sensation wasn’t scorching or intense, more like touching a film of water, as the black sun gradually swallowed him.
With Lu Luo’s body finally entering the black sun, the confrontation between them was declared over.
Standing on the ground, Noah wore a solemn expression. He didn’t know if Lu Luo was dead, but the Devourer’s tentacle before him seemed somewhat abnormal. Initially, when Noah saw the Devourer’s tentacle, he thought it was Lu Luo’s final retaliatory strike before death. He had even thought Lu Luo was rather spineless, but now it seemed Lu Luo had clearly guessed his intentions and responded. The Devourer’s tentacle before him was likely one of Lu Luo’s responses.
"What are you trying to tell me?"
The Devourer’s tentacle twisted into a fleshy lump, its sharp mouthparts gradually opening before spewing out a dark reddish-black substance towards Noah.
Is this thing... Lu Luo’s weapon? When Noah saw the dark reddish-black substance, he realized it was a weapon left by Lu Luo. What was the meaning of Lu Luo using the Devourer to give me this weapon now? And he remembered this thing was supposed to be a greatsword; why had it turned into a lump of molten iron? What is that guy trying to do?
"Noah..." Yang, who had been silent all this time, suddenly spoke.
Noah looked at her and saw she was staring at the black sun in the sky. He also looked up, his pupils constricting similarly.
The black sphere was emitting light and vibrations. Countless particles began to distort around it, and numerous tentacles stretched out from within, making it resemble an indescribable monster. The stars that had filled the sky now transformed into black eyes. These were undoubtedly Lu Luo’s two major Sequence abilities: the World-Devouring Core and the Thousand Eyes Demonic Form.
Was Lu Luo... devoured by this thing? This was Noah’s inner question, but at this point, it seemed waiting was his only option.
"No, there’s still this lump of molten iron. Lu Luo intends to fight back. A guy like him wouldn’t give in so easily."
「...」
In the center of the black sphere, Lu Luo finally met the architect of all this. Its form was not some terrifying monster, but simply a ball of light. A brilliant white light, as bright as the power of Li Ming.
"Are you the Destroyer?"
"Who else, young transmigrator?" The moment the Destroyer spoke, it teased Lu Luo about his identity as a transmigrator, apparently knowing this was something Lu Luo cared deeply about.
"Does peering into others’ thoughts and privacy give you a special sense of achievement? Or does it satisfy some perverse desire of yours? Fine, I’ll stop pretending. I admit it, I am a transmigrator. So what?"
The Destroyer had no face or form, so Lu Luo couldn’t determine its current state. The Observer was completely out of commission by now. He had to rely solely on himself for everything now.
"So what?" the Destroyer retorted. "Since you’ve come here, everything about you belongs to me, Lu Luo!"
The orb of light suddenly rushed toward Lu Luo. Lu Luo’s eyebrows furrowed; the shackles of the black fog made it impossible for him to move or resist.
Just as Lu Luo was about to be engulfed by the sphere of light, a torrent of lava tore through the surrounding darkness, introducing a different color between Lu Luo and the orb.
The color of the Ash Messenger!
