Angle's Arrogance? My Pact with the Succubus Queen!-Chapter 273: The First 36-Star!
The meeting lasted about three hours.
By the time it ended, the sun was setting in the west.
Logan stepped out of the underground fortress and climbed up to the wall of Saint Heart City.
Natalia, Sophia, and Lucia followed behind him. All of them had just finished their own department meetings. They looked tired, but their eyes were bright.
"Did you say I was adopted by the headmaster?" Logan looked into the distance. "I really want to visit my hometown one day."
"Logan, we need to be clear." Natalia said. "Pinocchini, we’re going with you."
"Relax," Logan said. "I’ll take all of you with me. We still have a few months. We can study the Yepera bones and the Black Dragon bones together. I found out that studying both seems to be a third path to unlock more star marks. It’s completely different from the systems of the Human Federation and Pinocchini."
Natalia nodded. "Don’t worry, we won’t let you get too far ahead. But you, are you willing to give up your current position and power?"
Logan smiled at that. "After the war, there’s a lot of rebuilding to do. The Federation has a lot of power gaps. It’s impossible to say no one will try to take control. But I trust the old ones who made it through. They’ll handle it."
He looked toward the sky. "Their political skills are stronger than we think. And this war proved it. Their power and influence are at their highest right now. No one will challenge them for a while."
At that moment, footsteps came from the stairs.
Arthur, Old Corleone, General Darwin, and Solon walked up the wall.
Each of them carried a bottle of alcohol and a few cups.
The high priest and Lord Garen followed with two small tables.
"The meeting is over. It’s time to relax," Old Corleone said with a smile. "It’s a Federation tradition. After a big victory, the leaders gather on the city wall. We raise a glass to the fallen, the survivors, and the future."
He handed out the cups and poured the drinks.
The wine was strong and had a sharp smell.
"First cup." Old Corleone raised his glass. "To the fallen soldiers. To the victory they earned with their lives."
Everyone drank, raising their cups and finishing them without a single complaint.
The strong alcohol burned their throats, but no one flinched.
"Second cup." Arthur said, filling the glasses again. "To the survivors. To us, for still standing here and protecting the Federation."
They drank again, and redness spread across their faces.
"Third cup." Logan said, his voice clear in the wind. "To the future. No matter what dangers lie ahead, the Federation will move forward."
They drank the third cup.
Below the wall, workers were still hard at work, their faces full of hope for rebuilding their homes.
...
Seven days later.
The cleanup of Shadow Veins across the Federation was in its final stages.
In the secret underground chamber of Star Lake Base, Logan sat cross-legged in the center of the room.
Two items floated in front of him.
One was the Yepera bones, covered in glowing golden runes.
The other was the Black Dragon bones — completely black, radiating a dark, destructive power.
The two bones floated in midair, their runes faintly glowing and humming softly.
Logan’s chest was wrapped in bandages. These were the wounds he had received during the final battle in Saint Heart City — wounds from the Shadow projection. Black smoke still escaped from them, and they had not fully healed.
But he seemed to feel no pain. His entire focus was deep in his Soul Sea.
At that moment, inside Logan’s Soul Sea, 35 star marks formed a perfect ring, slowly spinning.
Each star mark represented one step of the Legend stage.
In the history of the Federation, people usually tried to break into the Saint stage after lighting up 28-star marks.
But Logan felt his power was far from reaching its limit.
He whispered to himself: "Three-Headed Hell Wolf Battle Style! One Mind, Three Uses! Divine Perception! Spirit Light Mark! Hell Eye! Full Analysis!"
His eyes glowed golden. His vision pierced through the surface of the Yepera bones and went deep into their inner structure.
The bones were covered with thousands of ancient runes.
These runes were not carved by hand. They were formed naturally over time by the laws of the Demigod-level Titan Python.
Logan had been sitting here for three days and three nights.
His Mental Power worked like the most precise scanner, copying rune after rune.
3,896 runes in total.
That was the full number of runes on the Yepera bones.
When the last rune was successfully copied into his Soul Sea, Logan suddenly opened his eyes.
He growled: "Now!"
His Life Crystal started to spin wildly.
A huge energy wave hit the node of the 36-star mark.
Boom!
The Soul Sea shook violently.
The 36-star mark, under extreme compression and expansion, finally burst with bright light.
The 36-star marks formed a perfect ring, slowly spinning above the Soul Sea.
Logan’s power skyrocketed. The 35-star limit was broken in an instant.
But he didn’t feel the change that came with the Saint stage.
He muttered, his eyes showing understanding: "It’s true... the old ones in the Federation only needed 28-star to break through because their talent was limited. But I came from another world, and I’m a Hybrid between humans and the New Human. My talent is far beyond normal. 36-star is still not my limit!"
He clenched his fist, feeling the vast power inside him.
If the quantity wasn’t enough, then he would create a new way to make the change.
Logan took out the improved Black Church ritual scroll.
This was a technique he learned from Vincent, and he had refined it with the help of 108 spiritual bodies.
He announced: "Belief power... condense."
With the Black Dragon bones as his brush and the Yepera bones as his ink, he drew a huge magic circle on the floor of the chamber.
The lines of the circle were complex. Every stroke held the laws of space and life.
When the last stroke was finished, the whole chamber glowed red.
The second golden crystal on Logan’s forehead shone brightly.
It was the core of belief he had formed after eating the stupid god’s faith.
He clenched his hands and pulled half of his belief power out of his body. "Come together!"
Countless prayers of believers echoed in the room.
Belief power flowed like real water, gathering in the center of the magic circle.
Compress!
Compress again!
A bright red gem slowly formed in the center of the circle.
It was only the size of a thumb, but inside it, a whole galaxy seemed to exist.
At the moment the gem formed, Logan felt his Soul Sea expand again.
The 36-star marks, which had once been perfect and stable, now started to move slightly.
He touched the edge of the 37-star mark.
He gripped the gem and said excitedly: "It worked! This method can help people light up star marks, replacing the Sacred Fire and Supernova rituals. From now on, the Saint stage of the Human Federation can be made in mass!"
As he said that, Logan suddenly remembered the recent research from his 108 spiritual bodies.
According to their findings, the girls around him still had room to improve in their abilities.
If they followed the same method, maybe they could unlock new fighting powers using belief crystals.
Thinking this, Logan put the belief crystal into his space ring, stood up, and quickly fixed his clothes.
After leaving the chamber, he sent a mental message to his girls: "Natalia, Sophia, Lucia, Jessica, Evelynna, Fischl, Yelena, Sawako... meet me at the underground base of Star Lake. I have something important to say."
After sending the message, Logan stood by the window, looking at the water of Star Lake.
He began planning special training for each girl.
Natalia needed one-on-one guidance. Her Hellweaver still had a lot of potential.
Lucia and Sophia had complementary personalities — they could train together in Demon-Magic Hybrid techniques.
Fischl and Evelynna had been rivals in the past — Fischl as Imperial Princess of The Black Church, and Evelynna as the Holy Girl of the Temple. Their ideas didn’t match, so they needed to be paired up separately to clear up their differences.
Yelena and Sawako had opposite personalities — one calm, one active — and that made them perfect for team training.
As for Jessica...
Logan raised an eyebrow.
He used his space power to sense and found out that Jessica was already in Saint Heart City.
When she got the message, she actually came with Gwen and Tracy.
Logan shook his head, but didn’t stop her. "That girl, I wonder what she’s up to this time."
But since Tracy and Gwen had arrived, he decided to include them too.
He had a good impression of the two.
Half an hour later.
Logan felt Natalia’s presence arriving at the base.
Natalia pushed open the main door and saw Logan standing by the window. She asked: "Why did you call us in such a hurry? What’s going on?"
Suddenly, her sharp eyes caught a change in Logan’s energy. She asked again: "You actually broke through to 36-star?"
"Not just that." Logan turned around and pulled out the blood-red gem. It floated in his palm, giving off a powerful and scary energy wave.
Natalia’s eyes narrowed. She felt the huge belief power inside the gem. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
It was energy strong enough to push a Legend stage warrior straight into Saint stage.
Her voice was a little dry. "This... is Saint-stage energy?"
"You could say that," Logan nodded and smiled. "This is a belief crystal I made. It’s a gift for you — but you have to go on a date with me first."
Natalia was surprised for a moment, then her lips curled into a dangerous smile. "A date? Right now? Logan, are you sure?"
Logan took a step forward and placed the crystal in Natalia’s hand. "I’m sure. If you want this crystal, come with me."
Natalia gripped the gem, feeling its warm energy. She looked deep into Logan’s eyes. "Okay. I hope you don’t let me down."
Logan didn’t answer directly.
He turned and walked toward the base door. "Come with me."
Natalia raised an eyebrow, put the crystal into her space ring, and followed.
The two left the Star Lake base and flew southwest in a flying familiar.
Half an hour later, the airship landed in the center of Twilight City.
