Earlier...

Ethan and Trevor turned around in shock and slight anger when they heard what the group of guys were talking about and for some reason, they knew who the culprit was, Leon.

"Wait here!" Ethan suddenly said to them. They were now by the vehicle. They all turned to look at Ethan in confusion. Only Trevor knew what was up.

"I got a clue. I will be right back." Ethan said as he started to disappear right in front of them or so they thought.

"He... disappeared?" Emily muttered in shock and disbelief.

"He’s still here." Trevor replied casually.

"Huh?"

"He just erased his aura. It’s one of his "special" abilities. He can change his aura to resemble anything once he figures out the unique aura of that thing. It’s that simple." Trevor explained coolly.

"The fucking hell! Doesn’t that make him invisible? He could complete scout missions in less than 24 hours with that." This was the second time that the group knew Lamair had shown a behavior and expression that was so, unLamair-like.

"Yeah yeah."

As this banter was going on, Ethan had casually walked towards the group. He was now invincible to them. He walked up to one of the guys, a scrawny guy with a bald fade and tanned skin. He seemed to be the leader of this group.

This was the first time Ethan was using the Telepathy part of his Psychic to do something as complex as reading someone’s mind. He already had a fair knowledge of it, but its application was very complicated and difficult, talk about painful.

As his eyes transformed, the subtle shift in color seemed almost imperceptible at first but soon deepened into an unmistakable shade of cobalt blue. The once-vibrant whites of his eyes faded to a translucent hue, like moonlit ice, allowing the radiant blue to dominate. His pupils and irises dissolved, surrendering to an ethereal swirl of light blue that churned with an otherworldly energy.

The swirling pattern resembled a miniature whirlpool, its gentle currents drawing inward as if pulling thoughts and secrets from the depths of the mind he sought to read. Tendrils of luminescent blue danced across his irises, weaving an intricate network that pulsed with a soft, electric glow.

As his telepathic connection strengthened, the blue glow intensified, casting an eerie, mesmerizing light on the surrounding environment. The air around him seemed to vibrate with psychic energy, as if the very fabric of reality was being subtly manipulated.

His eyelids, now translucent and veined with fine, glowing filaments, appeared to fade into the background, leaving only the hypnotic blue swirls to hold attention. The gentle hum of his telepathic probe resonated through the air, a silent invitation for the target’s thoughts to flow into his mind.

With each passing moment, the blue deepened, becoming almost velvety in its richness, as if the very essence of the night sky had been distilled within his eyes. His gaze, now an unblinking, piercing beam, locked onto the target, drawing their thoughts, fears, and secrets into the vortex of his mind.

The telepathic link solidified, granting him access to the hidden recesses of the target’s consciousness. Thoughts, memories, and emotions began to trickle into his awareness, unfolding like a mental tapestry woven from the threads of the target’s innermost self.

...

As his gaze locked onto the target, the swirling blue vortex within his eyes pulled the target’s thoughts into its depths. The telepathic link solidified, granting access to the hidden recesses of their mind.

Ethan found himself standing at the threshold of the target’s consciousness, surrounded by a hazy, shimmering veil that represented their conscious thoughts. Fleeting notions and surface-level worries drifted like wisps of cloud, revealing the target’s current anxieties.

As he ventured deeper, the veil parted, revealing a turbulent sea of emotions. Dark, churning waters of fear and self-doubt crashed against radiant, sunlit waves of joy and hope. The colors swirled, a kaleidoscope of feelings that threatened to overwhelm.

Navigating the choppy waters, he discovered a twisted iron fortress, its walls adorned with jagged barbs and warning signs. This was the target’s self-protection mechanism, guarding their deepest vulnerabilities.

Beyond the fortress lay a hidden garden, its beauty and tranquility a stark contrast to the turmoil outside. Here, the target’s vulnerable hopes and dreams bloomed, nurtured by the gentle rainfall of their subconscious.

He wandered through narrow, winding corridors, uncovering hidden chambers filled with repressed memories, latent talents, and primordial fears. Each step revealed more about the target’s inner world.

Finally, he reached the crystalline core of the target’s identity. The structure pulsed with an otherworldly light, illuminating the target’s values, beliefs, and sense of self. The spark of their creativity and passion glowed brightly, alongside their deepest, most cherished aspirations.

Within this sacred space, he discovered the target’s most guarded secrets:

- A childhood trauma, locked away like a dusty artifact

- A hidden talent for art, waiting to be unearthed

- A deep-seated fear of failure, lurking in darkness

As he explored the target’s mind, their thoughts and emotions began to intertwine with his own. Empathy and understanding blossomed, forging a silent bond between the telepathic explorer and his subject.

The blue glow within his eyes intensified, signifying the depth of their connection. The target’s mental landscape, once a mystery, now lay open before him.

But he wasn’t here to discover the guy’s secrets, he was here for something else. He used his willpower to the maximum, searching the vast space for anything related Leon, closing of the chaotic colors and sounds around him.

On the outside, his eyes were beginning to bleed. Even if he had almost unlimited willpower, this skill was beyond his current level.

Soon enough, he found the memories of Leon and they were just as he expected, acts of bullying and arrogance and even a few rape scandals, causing him to release his killing intent a little.

"Huh? Who’s there?!" the guy exclaimed; his back already drenched as he turned around, but no one was there. Ethan calmed himself down as he searched through the immense cluster of memories related to Leon and he found the ones related to the abduction pretty fast. It turned out one of the slutty girls started all this and she was one of the dogs of Leon. He found out that he was planning to defile, or you could say rape, the girl, who turned out to be Andriel, the transfer student and the one who mentally harassed the person who likely to have the highest willpower in the whole of Anbord, in the guys changing room, then his lackeys will also play with her all for the sake of getting back at him. All this for revenge. He had never thought so low of Leon until today.

Ethan cancelled the skill, blood flowing like tears from his eyes, but he ignored the pain. He had felt pain 5 times worse than this plus it would heal in a minute. He quickly made his way back to his group, appearing like a phantom and scaring the shit out of them, even Trevor but it changed to worry and concern when they saw his now bleeding eyes.

"Ethan what’s wrong? Why are your eyes bleeding?" Clara exclaimed, pure horror and concern on her face and in her voice.

"What happened bro! Did that fucker do this?!" Trevor was brimming with anger now, his eyes glowing a dangerous red, causing the air around them to crackle.

...

"Achoo! Who’s cursing me? Never mind. Time to taste an elf."

...

"Calm down guys! I just used a skill which above my current level." Ethan hurriedly quelled their concern.

"You will go this far for a stranger? Just because she’s your soulmate?" Clara said in anger and jealousy.

"I will do the same for all my soulmates and that includes you and Harley. Do you want me to die and leave you alone? If I don’t save her and she gets defiled, I will bear the consequences. I still do not understand this shit but if I don’t do it, it will be two options for me which is equivalent to one, death. Do you want that? We haven’t been together for long, just a week and some days. Do you want it all to end?" Ethan said while hugging Clara who was now sobbing in his arms.

"I’m sorry but this is too harsh. You are still too young to be experiencing this."

"I’ve experienced worse, to be honest." Ethan said as he remembered his time the beast plane.

"Promise you will come back alive and okay!"

"I will. I way more powerful than Leon. Don’t you believe in your boss?"

"Please boss, don’t start flirting with me. You have a timer on your head."

"I will get you back for that, it’s a promise."

"I will take you up on that."

"Didn’t you just say no flirting?" Emily suddenly cut in with a sarcastic tone.

"Cough! I will need your help though. I want you to incapacitate Leon’s lackey in the changing rooms while I go in to save the girl. I already dealt with the ones here. I will sneak us all in then you work on them while I confront Leon and don’t worry, they will never know who you guys are." Ethan said with a smirk.
