Ancestral Lineage-Chapter 114: Battle Royale.
A new day comes with its own share of problems and solutions and today was such day.
Why? How? We will find out soon...
The second-year classes buzzed with excitement as they waited for Ethan’s call to go watch the last test for the selected people. The said, selected people, the MVPs were all in a world of emotions and reactions to the kind of test Ethan was going to give them.
When they first heard about it, they couldn’t believe it. Not even his own "subordinates". This was too much for them, they all thought but Ethan was otherwise.
What was the test exactly?
...
Ethan quickly typed away on his phone as he stood in a wide-open field with no end in sight. It was a very large meadow with bushes and trees at the sides, giving it a serene atmosphere. Small blue glowing orbs hovered at vantage points about 18 meters from each other. The area they covered was huge, about 83 meters long and 48 meters wide, approximating to a colosseum.
If one looked closely, they would notice the shimmering translucent glow around this covered area.
’With this, I might kill two birds with one stone, hopefully.’ Ethan thought as he waited for his mates to arrive.
...
Very soon, about 30 minutes later, the field was filled with second year students, numbering about 1000+. Among them, twenty of them wore energy suits of different styles and held weapons of various types and sizes with determined expressions.
Murmurs and whispers rang out among the rest as they waited for the test to start.
"Finally, we will see how strong Ethan actually is!"
"He’s insane!"
"Maybe he would use his beast mode."
"He doesn’t look that worried though."
"Beats me."
"But still, they are going to go all out!"
"True. It isn’t everyday you witness battles of this magnitude."
"They are all Advanced level too!"
"Shh! It’s starting!"
Ethan hovered slightly above the ground, in front and in the middle of two orbs, Barrier Deployers. He was in his academy tracksuit and black sneakers with his hands in his pockets. He was without his glasses and his hair had also grown a bit longer.
"Good day everyone! The time we’ve all been waiting for is here. The test will begin now. As announced earlier, it will be a battle royale. I will partake as the black sheep in it but the main agenda is for the twenty fighters.
The last one standing will be declared winner and be my direct subordinate, meaning he or she will act in my stead when I’m not around. The others will be determined by how long you last in the battle. There’s a drone up there catching everything in 20K, to give us perfect results.
If the endurance objective doesn’t work, then it will be determined by the number of people you eliminate. Enjoy exclusive content from novelbuddy
The rules are this.
1. Fight fairly and no tricks.
2. Use everything at your disposal but do not kill anyone.
3. Spirit Beasts are permitted.
4. The use of weapons are also permitted, provided they are from the academy.
5. No use of boosters or supplements.
So, let the battle royale begin!"
Ethan said to a round of applause and cheers from the second years.
He touched his nape slightly.
A black, sleek material materialized swiftly and covered his body, starting from his neck. It formed a sleek, body fitting uniform with no openings apart from his head. Red designs also formed on his hands. From wrist to elbow, shoulders and chest. He flew upwards a bit, a blue glow surrounding him, giving way to the main fighters who were heading into the area covered by the Barrier Deployers.
Leading them was Trevor, his now long hair swaying in the breeze and reaching his waist. He wore a white energy suit with red designs with a black scythe slung behind him. A floating crystal skull with a smoke body floated beside him as he entered. He nodded slightly to Ethan and entered. As his first subordinate and brother, he naturally knew what Ethan was on about. Trevor was in base form Blood Primogenitor, but Ethan would go into full form without the tattoos.
He will also tweak his aura so that the others wouldn’t feel it with the exception of vampires. Thankfully, Trevor was around so what he would be doing wouldn’t affect Emily.
Behind Trevor was Clara, her silvery-blonde hair tied up in a French braid. She wore a blue energy suit with white glowing designs while holding a silver longsword with blue designs. A small and cute four tailed white fox trotted beside her. She blew Ethan a kiss and stepped in.
Rexford followed, his dual-colored eyes glowing like two lights. His wings were folded behind him as he walked in calmly. He wore a black energy suit with red gauntlets and an axe slung to his back. Two beasts followed him: a grey cat with black patches on its fur and a sting-like tail. It was as large as a horse. The second beast was a large crow as huge as a glider’s kite with a flaming mane and red eyes. Its tail was covered in dark red flames as it sat on the cat.
The rest followed in anticipation for the end results.
...
The atmosphere was tense as the fighters eyed each other.
Lisa wore a black energy suit with blue designs. She held a silver spear while beside her, a black leopard with two tails and blue lightning shaped spots stood. Everyone was using his or her spirit beast in this battle except Ethan. Her beast was about 6 feet tall in human height with sharp gold feline eyes.
On her left, Godfred stood in a dark brown energy suit with huge gauntlets on his fists. His spirit beast was a gorilla with golden brown fur, two bull horns and long barbed tail. It’s fists were dark brown with hard knuckles. An obvious brute just like its master. It was very huge, a giant of 7 feet.
Timothy wore a purple energy suit with red designs and held two daggers. On his shoulder stood a squirrel with dark brown fur and shimmering wave-like runes all over its body. Its eyes were covered with a black cloth. Its ears were glowing as waves could be seen around them.
Reginald Ignifax, Ethan’s diehard fan, wore a red energy suit and held two slick sabers. On his side stood a 6.7-feet-tall fox with red fur that moved slightly in the wind like fiery embers.
Ethan seeing this pressed on a button on his suit. A thrumming sound rang out as the Barrier Deployers expanded their range, becoming as wide as two colosseums put together.
Andriel stood alone, holding a scythe. It had a black handle and a silver energy blade. She was a pureblood elf, so she didn’t need a spirit beast.
Emily stood by Clara’s right with a huge green scaled drake, the size of an elephant and a black whip in her hands. She wore a black energy suit with green designs.
With a bang, the battle royale started.
Apole puffed out smoke as his form changed, becoming a being of pure white smoke with a crystalline head and red glowing eyes. Trevor raised his scythe, his eyes glowing a crimson red color as he vanished in a puff of smoke, enveloping half of the area in white, blinding smoke. Clara seeing this jumped into the air as her spirit beast transformed into a 7-feet-tall fox with four tails. She jumped onto its back as both their eyes turned a white. A strong telepathic wave blasted from her, pushing back the smoke around her. She ducked swiftly in time to dodge an array of smoke arrows.
"Sorry sister-in-law. I’ve got no choice. " Trevor said with a grin.
"No worries. Ethan will pay for this after all." Clara replied with a corresponding grin of her own. Silvery-white constructs materialized around her as attacked Trevor who was using Sync with his beast but on a lower level. Trevor turned into smoke and dodged the attacks, his laughter resounding around her like specter.
Ethan had told them not to use Sync fully. They could use at most 5% of it. With this, they would appear normal with only their eyes, transforming to resemble what their beasts looked like.

"Come on Ari." Clara said as she radiated a strong telepathic energy. Her eyes turned fox-like as a bit of fur appeared on her face around her eyes. Her spirit beast disappeared, leaving her alone. She gripped her longsword tightly as her aura exploded, completely destroying the world of smoke around her.
...
Reginald’s eyes were a foxlike red as he twirled his two sabers, flames erupting around him like a volcano. He was entangled in a three-man battle with Godfred and his gorilla beast. Fire against Earth.
Reginald turned sharply dodging a fierce, earth-infused punch from the gorilla.
The battle had finally started, and it was becoming fierce by the second.
