Chapter 60: The fiancees

Standing there were his three fiancées, yes, the three people that basically hated his guts because they are engaged to him. Liana, Mia, and Sofia, the three daughters of three dukes.

Liana stood there surrounded by a lot of people trying to speak to her and get acquainted with her, after all, nobles learnt the importance of connection from childhood.

She had a beautiful silver armor on her, it reflected the rays of the sun that seeped through the leaves of the forest.

Her hair color really stood out in the crowd, and her doll-like beauty was one to truly behold.

Riven didn’t pay much attention to her, he walked past quietly, but she caught him at the corner of her eyes, her lips curled down into a frown when she saw him, her entire mood shifted.

She stopped paying attention to those people standing around her, her entire focus shifted to Riven, she was genuinely pissed at the fact that he was here, he that was trash, why would he have the guts to come.

When they had spoken to each other that day, she felt like he was simply trying to keep appearances, but he actually came.

What pissed her off more was the fact that he behaved like he had not seen her as he passed, yet she knew that he saw her, she could tell.

And that simply meant he was ignoring her on purpose, her blood boiled the most she thought about this, she gripped the handle of her sword and got up to her feet immediately.

"Excuse me." She said to the nobles around her, they were shocked by her sudden change in demeanor, but they couldn’t say anything to the daughter of the duke.

She walked out of there, trying to calm herself down.

Riven, not knowing the turmoil that he has caused, kept walking, looking for a place that he would sit down, he spotted Noel in the distance and decided to go sit next to him.

He spotted the second fiancée Sofia, a fine beauty with pearl white hair, her skin was so smooth and fine, he could tell from the little that showed from under the magical robes that she wore.

She was standing alone with her staff in hand, a blank expression plastered on her face. Anyone who approached her was immediately met with no response, they tried to talk to her for an awkward moment before leaving her alone.

Riven knew what type of person that she was, it’s not that she didn’t want to talk to them, it’s simply because she didn’t like talking, and she knew that the moment she engaged the person, it would lead to an entire string of conversations that she didn’t want to be a part of.

So her solution was simple, keep quiet and ignore them, and after years of doing that, it became a part of her.

As he walked past, she suddenly turned, her eyes met with his, locking gazes for a few seconds. He didn’t know why, but her face slowly shifted into a frown and a slight look of disgust.

’Shit, does she know me? There’s no way she knows me, right? Did they show her my picture, this is bad for a first impression.’ Riven thought, he decided to not allow it get to him, he looked away and kept walking.

But it seemed she wasn’t done with him, she started heading in his direction slowly. Riven finally made his way to his brother who was sitting on a rock and he sat beside him.

"I saw your three fiancées, won’t you talk to them?" Noel teased.

"Screw you, bro." Riven responded, he looked at the last of the three, Mia. She wasn’t someone Riven even wanted to deal with.

He saw her standing there, her purple long hair flowed beautifully, her eyes carried the look of one that was above it all, and everything was beneath her.

She had on a black fitting armor, her sword hanging by her side as well. She was immensely beautiful, but she had a cold expression, her gaze seemed detached and there was a cold aura around her.

Riven found himself staring for a bit too long, and she suddenly turned to his direction, the same cold look still in her eyes, she sized him up from a distance, and then began walking in his direction.

"Oh shit."

"Oh shit," Riven and Noel said when they saw her headed their way, Noel immediately got up.

"I’m sorry, bro, I’ll be there for you another time, but right now, this is your own battle." Noel said and left as if fleeing for his life.

"Traitor," Riven said, he turned to face Mia and hear what she wanted to say, but as he turned, he saw the three of them standing in front of him.

Their shadows covered him like a canopy, Riven looked up slowly, he swallowed hard, and then took a deep breath to calm down.

"Is he the one? He matches what you described." Mia asked as she looked down at Riven.

"Yes, he is, the trash that we were engaged to." Liana said.

"No wonder he looked at the three of us, I’m sure he was having some disgusting thoughts inside his mind, repulsive." Sofia said, a look of disgust on her face.

"Yo, yo, yo, calm down, what the hell are you three talking about? And why are you three ganging up on me, I’m just here for the exams," Riven said.

"Who do you think you are talking to? You filthy low noble." Mia shot at him.

Riven heard that, and was pissed, he got up and looked her right in the eye, "I was alone here and you came to me, and now all of you are insulting me like I did something to you? Cut me some slack, okay? I don’t want to be part of whatever it is that you want to do right now." Riven said, making sure that they heard him.
