An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 274: A party
Hearing the voices headed his way, Riven quickly made a turn into a corner and watched from the darkness. He saw the group walk out; they were five people, a party made up of all men.
For them to be this deep into the dungeon, it meant that they were high-rankers for sure. Riven didn’t want to have anything to do with them for now, so he focused on waiting and then going past.
But that’s not how the world works, it chooses when to screw you over, and when it does, it’s a heavy screw. Suddenly, one of the men passing by stopped right before the corner where Riven was hiding and then turned his head. He looked into the darkness, his hand moving toward his sword.
Riven stopped breathing, doing everything to make sure he was quiet, yet even then, it didn’t work, the man kept looking. His party stopped when they realized that their member was standing still.
They returned to meet him; after all, he was their scout, and if he sensed something, they had to pay attention. The scout was of average height, short brown hair, and had two light blue eyes that stared into the darkness.
The leader of the five was a tall, handsome man, a fully ripped body that fought through his clothes and leather armor. His sword hung on his back, accompanied by his luscious blonde hair.
"What’s the issue, Ronald?" the leader asked, his voice calm and cool.
"Something is there," Ronald said with unfaltering confidence.
The leader took a step forward, his hand already moving for the sword. He took another step as he began to draw it.
"Come out now, whatever you are, and we won’t have any issues... maybe," he said.
Riven, seeing that the issue had escalated past the point where he could hide through it, decided to step out. He walked into the light and faced the five men.
They all stared at him in confusion, not expecting to see a child. Without uttering a word, Riven started walking away, but he already knew that wouldn’t work.
"Hey kid, stop right there!" the man bellowed, pulling his sword and pointing it at Riven. "Why were you watching us?" he asked.
"Don’t give yourself too much credit. I heard voices, and I didn’t want to engage until I was certain of who was coming. I have somewhere to be urgently, please forgive my rudeness," Riven said and kept walking.
But the leader wasn’t having any of that. "If you want to apologize, start by dropping everything you have. My party and I have been having issues finding at least some monsters to kill, and from the limp in your steps, I can say for sure that you’ve had a few monsters to yourself," the leader said.
Riven heard that but ignored it; he kept walking deeper into the dungeon. The leader frowned. "You should know, kid, if you die here, no one will know," the man said before suddenly dashing forward.
He was fast. He crossed the distance in a few seconds and thrust his sword, going for Riven’s back. Riven reacted fast, he spun around and blocked the attack in one move. Sparks flew, and their eyes met. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
But as the man looked into Riven’s eyes, he didn’t see a kid, it was a devil. His eyes shone with anger and rage.
Riven lunged forward first, pushing his foot against the ground and channeling his mana into it. He covered the distance in an instant and then sent a kick straight into the man’s gut.
The man’s body arched, his eyes widened; he didn’t think Riven would use his feet in a sword fight. He was pushed back, his guts aching.
His party members saw this and rushed to help, but he raised his hand, signaling them to stop. "I’ll take the kid alone, teach him some discipline," he said.
"This is stupid," Riven said. He looked at the man, then took out some cores, throwing them on the floor before him.
"I don’t need them. I have somewhere to be, and I have no interest in fighting you. You can have them and leave me alone," Riven said and walked away again.
He wasn’t in the mood for useless fights when his friends were somewhere suffering right now. He needed to save them, and fast.
But he had only taken a few steps when he sensed something. He leaped out of the way, and an Ice Arc flew by, slamming into the wall ahead and blasting a massive hole in it.
He turned around to look at the leader. The man stood there, rage written all over his face, his sword gripped tight in his hands. He looked at Riven as if he was going to rip the life out of him.
"You have a lot of guts, kid, disrespecting me like that, tossing cores to the ground for me to jump on. You’re pissing me off, kid. I’ll make sure I punish you," the leader said and charged ahead.
Riven looked at him and frowned. This dude was wasting his time. His face twisted into one of pure anger, he held his sword before him, he would end this as fast as possible.
When the leader was within range, he slashed. His sword exploded with flames that burned the air, sparks flying around it mid-slash.
The leader’s gaze landed on the sword, he knew he had to block it, so he did. Their swords collided, and for a moment, there was silence, followed by an ear-rending explosion, bright lights shaking the walls.
Riven was pushed a few steps back, but the leader was thrown back so hard he slammed into the ground, bouncing off the floor a few times before stopping, his body burnt and bruised.
Riven stood there, looking at the leader. He didn’t think his attack would pack that much of a punch. Was his emotions part of what made it like that?
