An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 273: Defeating the Undead
That attack was meant to be something that would actually do some damage, but with his Inferno Domain and Flame Blast, it barely did anything.
The only time he felt he was backed against such impossible odds was when he faced Beletrex, and that was a devil.
Even against the Demonized, he had never been that backed up.
"I’ll not allow you to block me. I’ll save Sofia even if it kills me," Riven said. He got on his feet, took a deep breath, and began channeling the flames.
They roared and twisted around him, rising up to the ceiling of the dungeon, blue flames, burning the air around him. He looked at the monster. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Then dashed forward, the flames compressed into the sword in his hands. He slashed, releasing a flame arc. The monster blocked like before, but Riven didn’t let up.
He went in, a barrage of attacks left and right. The flame arcs slammed against the thunder layer of flames that surrounded the monster.
The flames rippled but didn’t break. But Riven saw hope through that, if he focused his attacks at one point, he would be able to get through the flames.
The monster raised one hand into the air, and multiple balls of flame formed above. Riven looked at them; he couldn’t back down and use a flame wall. If he wanted to take down the monster, he needed to get through the attacks.
"Twilight, help me," Riven muttered before dashing. His body moved on its own. The fireballs came flying at him, but he moved nimbly, dodging left and right , each one a close shave.
His focus locked on the monster. His sword cut through the fireballs without him even looking, and in his mind was a single phrase playing over and over again:
"Go faster, go faster."
The same phrase that had shown up when he had fought against the Demonized and first reached Twilight.
And his body reacted to it, pushing past the limits that he had. He made it through the fireballs without a single burn and then continued right toward the monster.
He made an overhead slash, his sword drawing a perfect arc in the air as it slammed against the flame wall that surrounded the monster. Riven’s blue flames exploded out; he controlled it and pushed it all down against the monster.
It burned hot. The flame dome began ripping, he was getting through, as long as he focused more attacks there.
The monster, seeing that Riven was about to get through, began summoning another fireball, ready to attack.
But Riven reacted fast. He used blood manipulation, forcing his own blood out. It formed into several spikes and stabbed right into the place he was attacking.
The flame dome couldn’t take the attack and ripped, allowing Riven through. The moment he was through, the monster panicked. It tried retreating, but the blood wrapped around its hands and body, stopping the attack and preventing it from escaping.
Riven looked it right in its flame eyes. "You are terrifying when you have the distance to cast the spells. Let me see how you do when I close that distance." He thrust his sword, and while it traveled for the monster’s chest, he used Flame Blast, and with the aid of Inferno Domain, the output rose.
BOOOOM!
The monster took the blast point blank. It was thrown back, the orb in its hands tossed into the air. Riven stabbed up and through the orb, shattering it into bits.
"Let’s see what you do without the orb," Riven said as he shifted into a stance, his sword over his head, and his legs spread apart in a horse stance.
The monster looked at Riven, stunned and confused. In only a second, it had lost the orb and was knocked back by the human it had been toying with.
It might be an undead, but it had its own pride, and this trampled all over it. It wasn’t going to let that fly.
It readied both hands, and another fireball began forming, but it was far weaker than anything it had before. Riven wasn’t going to stand there and wait for this monster to make an attack; he was going to finish it.
He slashed twice in rapid succession and fired two flame arcs. They ripped through the air. The monster had to stop the attack and cast a small flame wall to block them.
It managed to block them, but as the flame wall came down, it saw Riven already in the air, thrusting his blade forward.
"Flame Blast!" The attack shot out and slammed into the chest of the monster, followed by a massive explosion that ripped its body apart into bits.
Riven locked eyes on the head of the monster, then lunged at it. He thrust his sword into the head and destroyed it, finally killing the monster.

Riven was shocked when he saw that he had leveled up, as he felt the monster wasn’t at the level that would have made him level up for killing it.
’Could it be because I fought it without using any of my special methods?’ Riven wondered. But now was not the time. He rushed to where Noel and Jack were meant to be, and they weren’t there.
He scanned the surroundings with his eyes, trying to figure out where they could have gone. The worry that they might have been taken as well hit him. He gritted his teeth and clenched his fist.
Without hesitation, he headed deeper into the floor. His body ached all around, and he wanted to stop and rest, even if it was for a moment, but that wasn’t possible. He couldn’t stop, knowing that his friends and brother were in danger.
He had gone a few meters inside the dungeon when he heard some voices.
"Hey, it was that way. I heard the sound, maybe there’s a stronger monster that way."
It was a deep and gruff voice.
