An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 158: Splitting up
Chapter 158: Splitting up
Inside the forest, all the classes had split up in search of their cabin. Riven, along with his class, was also searching. They didn’t know how long it would take, but they kept moving.
Someone walked up to Riven while he wasn’t paying attention. He felt the presence of someone very close, so he turned to see, and to his surprise, it was Lily.
Ever since what happened with him and Leon, they had never really spoken.
He looked at her, his expression flat, waiting for her to speak. She looked at him, seeing the dead eyes that couldn’t be bothered with her presence, her heart became heavy.
She felt it was what she did in the past that was making him act like he had never seen her before. She swallowed hard and then spoke.
"Hey." One word managed to leave her mouth. Riven glanced at her hand and saw she was squeezing hard. He looked at her face and the nervousness was written all over.
’Why is she being tense? Did I do something?’ he wondered. Ever since the day she drove him away, he never really paid attention to her or cared about her or anything concerning her anymore.
"Hey," he replied.
"Uhmm," she clenched her fist harder, looking down as she walked, "I wanted to apologize," she said, her voice so low it was almost a whisper.
"Apologize?" Riven asked, a look of confusion on his face.
"Yes, back then, you didn’t do anything wrong. Leon acted impulsively, and what happened was the result of his action," she said. She took a deep breath, gathering herself to say the rest.
"Instead of being nice when you came to apologize, I drove you away, even though you did nothing. I’m sorry for that," she said.
Riven looked at her. He didn’t really feel anything about what she had just said. If she said sorry or not, it wouldn’t really change anything, because he knew that what she did was simply because of the situation she found herself in, and her emotions were all over.
"No need to apologize. You didn’t do anything wrong, and I don’t have any grudge," Riven said.
She was a bit shocked by how easily he had accepted it, and she didn’t know what else to say from here.
’She allowed it to eat her up for so long? Hmmm, I guess I should at least make it so she can have some peace of mind,’ Riven thought.
"I’m happy you said sorry, and I’m sorry as well, seeing how the whole issue escalated and turned out. You shouldn’t worry about something like that. I’m sure that you are already tired after the harsh conditions of the ship," Riven said.
Her eyes lit up when she heard his voice. There was actually emotion in what he said, and he seemed genuinely happy. She looked up, eager to continue the discussion, but as she did, she felt a cold stare at her back.
She slowly glanced behind her and saw Sofia standing there. She glared at Lily with cold, killer eyes. Lily was instantly frightened by her.
Riven turned to see what Lily was looking at, and he saw Sofia with a soft smile that could warm the heart.
Lily, on the other hand, was extremely scared at how easily Sofia had changed her expression when Riven turned.
Lily was smart. She took this as her cue to walk away. She looked at Riven and gave a nod to him before leaving and heading back to meet Leon.
Sofia walked up to Riven and started walking beside him. They didn’t say anything for a minute, and then she finally spoke.
"Why was she with you?" she asked.
Riven heard the question, and he didn’t think anything about it, so he responded. "She wanted to apologize for weeks back when she was rude to me because of what happened to her friend Leon," he said.
"She was rude to you?" Sofia asked, her gaze getting cold and sharp.
"Oh yeah, it’s something I forgot, and she couldn’t forget, so she came to apologize," Riven said. He wasn’t looking at Sofia, so he couldn’t see the facial expression that she had right now.
"She should kneel to apologize," Sofia said.
"Haha, that’s funny," Riven replied, but Sofia didn’t laugh with him. He looked at her, but she was smiling—her normal soft smile that was extremely hard to read.
He felt something was off, but he didn’t know what exactly, so he didn’t bother. fгeewebnovёl.com
She went quiet after that and simply walked with Riven. Mia and Liana watched from the group, their eyes lingered on Sofia all through. They had a bad feeling that she would be doing some extreme things this exam.
After a while of walking, they had gone deep into the forest, and it was now time to start looking for real.
Zara placed his palm on the ground. Using his plant-type magic, he was able to connect with the roots and scan the surroundings. He kept going until he spotted the cabin, but not only that.
"I’ve found a cabin, but two classes are already headed in that direction," he spoke up.
"Two classes? That’s not a good setup," Robert said.
"But we have to get a base early and get some rest. We are all exhausted from the ship," Lance spoke up.
"I say we attack, take down the two classes," Jack spoke up.
"That’s a dumb idea. Not only are there two classes, but the golem guarding the classes is also there," Mia said.
Everyone from the class started giving their input on the issue. Then, after a few seconds of arguing, they all turned to look at Riven for his input.
Riven felt all the eyes on him. He took a deep breath and spoke.
"We will be splitting up, twenty-five to each side. One will go and face one class, and the others will go and face one class. The odds are against us number-wise, but I believe that we can take it if we split properly," Riven said.
