Chapter 478: Chapter 88: Election Strategy_3

Martin, hearing about the investigative company, suddenly nodded in realization, "I get it, it’s like the investigative company calls to ask who you support, right? Then they deliberately only mention the names of two candidates, one being well-known in the district and the other being some obscure unknown, thereby making it seem like the famous one has more support. Every time election season comes around, countless bullshit public opinion polling companies call under the guise of phone voting surveys to push the candidates they’re backing."

"That’s just the kind of idiotic question a city councilor would come up with. The questions your polling company will be asking are designed to bring down that Democratic Party favorite, the Cuban woman named Rosario Kennedy. The survey question you’ll design for the public is whether they support the controversial criminal furlough program previously proposed and heavily pushed by Rosario Kennedy." Tommy flipped open the notebook beside him, tore out a page, and handed it to Martin.

As Martin took the page, he asked, "What’s this question? What furlough program?"

"The public on the other end of the phone will ask the same question as you just did," Tommy replied. "The answer is written there."

Martin looked down at the paper Tommy had torn off, which clearly stated that Florida previously banned furloughs for first-degree murderers, but this Cuban woman named Rosario Kennedy, during her time as Miami City Commissioner, tried to pass a so-called criminal furlough program at the state level. It was designed to allow first-degree murderers—should they demonstrate good behavior after a period of incarceration—the same privileges as lesser offenders, to enjoy the benefits of taking leave for family visits."

"Florida has such a law? I had no idea. I guess a lot of n*ggers would back this bitch since they’d be thrilled with the Cuban chick, seeing that every black family has at least one relative rotting in jail," Martin mumbled after reading the details of the law.

However, he quickly shut his mouth and stopped his banter when he read the consequences of the short-lived trial stage of this law. A criminal who had committed first-degree murder during a home invasion, killing a seven-year-old black boy and subsequently receiving a life sentence, was granted furlough during the trial period. This guy ended up kidnapping a young couple, repeatedly raping the wife in front of her husband, then brutally killed them both.

Following this atrocity, the push for the law was halted.

"F*ck! That criminal single-handedly crushed the furlough dreams of countless blacks; he’d better be white," Martin cursed after reading it.

Turning to Martin, Tommy said, "The criminal is black, but he’s one-eighth Cuban white. Get it? Splash that Cuban black murderer all over the campaign against that candidate woman like crazy, downplay the criminal’s black identity, emphasize his Cuban blood, tell everyone that unless the people of this district want her to let out countless Cuban criminals to kill their children, rape their wives, they should absolutely not support her."

"Make all the whites and blacks in this district believe that this woman is a communist spy sent by Cuba. She’s already corrupted the Kennedy Family, and now she’s just waiting to release a horde of incarcerated Cuban felons upon us, letting them legally kill Americans. You’re going to hire lawyers and investigators to unearth the photos of the murdered child’s corpse, the photos of that young couple, to find relatives of the deceased. Have them hold the pictures in front of her offices, her residences, at rallies, and if possible, I even want them appearing where Rosario and her ex-husband Kennedy are in bed. I want to see that woman break down under the pressure, to be questioned and accused without the power to defend herself, to expose those photos to her children. In short, I want everyone to know one thing."

"Her only purpose in running for office is for the Cubans, as she’s part of the slaughter of innocent Americans." 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Tommy’s voice was very calm and the car wasn’t cold, but Martin shivered involuntarily, "That woman is also a Democrat, same party as Jeff."

Without blinking, Tommy said, "Her base is the Cuban immigrants. Even if Jeff is willing to go behind his wife’s back to lick her Cuban p*ssy, he can’t win over her Cuban electorate behind her. Since she’s of no use, there’s no need to hesitate in bringing her down."

Martin swallowed hard. A woman who may have never even met his boss, who didn’t know each other’s names until now, just because... she was competing with Jeff for a seat in the House of Representatives, Tommy could cold-bloodedly devise such a cruel plan to completely ruin her.

To intimidate her children, display the deceased’s corpse photos everywhere, not letting the dead rest, framing her as a Cuban spy...

Martin dared not continue the thought. He shook his head and then deliberately changed the subject, "Boss, you just said... while I’m fundraising for Jeff, you’ll also be fundraising? You won’t be with us going forward?"

"Seventeen veterans from the homes, and we’ve managed to raise less than twenty thousand dollars. So they aren’t big donors; they’re just Jeff’s core voter base. Assuming Jeff can secure the support of three thousand veterans and if, in the end, his approval rating falls short and he needs to drop out of the race, he could still sell those veterans’ contacts for a hundred thousand or so. But whether it’s twenty thousand or a hundred thousand, it’s not enough. We need the kind of donors who can write large checks," Tommy said as he tossed his cigarette butt out of the car window:

"The kind that can transform his image, rent large venues, buy advertising spaces, dominate TV commercials, and newspaper headlines."

"Didn’t you say before that all those wealthy companies and organizations in this area... already made their choice?"

"That’s why I’m going to split off and work separately. I’ll set up another charity. Charities have the perk of not having to disclose donor information, which can attract those... campaign dirty money."

"How can there be people who don’t like to show off their donations?"

"Of course, like some church organizations that deviate slightly from mainstream religious scriptures. I’ve done some digging, and there are many such organizations in Florida, and they’re all quite wealthy."

"Wait, you’re talking about those cults that wave the flag of God while practicing bizarre rituals?"

"Mind your language, Martin, that’s called religious freedom, and it’s a right granted to the people of the United States by the First Amendment to the constitution! People have the right to choose what shape their God takes, or whatever else they believe in." Tommy corrected Martin forcefully:

"They all believe in God but are smeared as cults by the mainstream denominations simply because they interpret the same Bible differently—that is a blatant slander."

Page pulled the car up outside Zack’s house: "Boss, we’re here."

Tommy pulled the car door open, getting ready to exit, while Martin couldn’t help but ask:

"What could Jeff offer these cults?"

Tommy thought for a moment: "I don’t know. Maybe after being elected, Jeff will seek to join the United States House of Representatives Religious Safeguards Committee? He will call on Congress to grant all faiths the right to operate independent TV stations across the United States under the guise of religious freedom? I’ll say whatever’s needed depending on what they want."

"What do you mean?"

"It means nothing. It’s just an excuse to get money out of the cults since we’re only going to cheat them once. We’re not expecting Jeff to pass down the position through hereditary means to his descendants." Tommy got out of the car and walked towards Zack’s house.

Martin followed Tommy: "So the large donations, the ’dirty money’ as you call them, are firmly in the hands of the charity you’ve established. How much to spend for Jeff is entirely up to you. The money I have is nothing compared to the loose change in your hands?"

Tommy said with a beaming smile: "A twenty-eight split is quite fair. The money earned in Jeff’s name—twenty percent in your hands, eighty percent in mine."

"If he proves to be worth the investment, we’ll reward him like a good, obedient dog with a bit extra. If not, we take the money and look for the next willing, obedient dog."

"Doesn’t that make the politics of America sound a little more understandable now?"
