Chapter 423: Chapter 60: Jason’s Healing Girlfriend_2

Susan changed her tone and said, "Rayming? That’s not a very common name."

"That’s my alias on the internet." Susy didn’t deny it but nodded and said.

"Wait, wait, are you saying that your alias on the California Telephone BBS is Rayming?" Susan suddenly realized and then looked at the blonde sweetie in front of her with surprise. "You’re joking with me, right?"

Susy, seeing the astonished expression on Susan’s face, didn’t understand why she had such a strong reaction. "You sound very excited. Are you also a member of the Telephone BBS?"

"Of course I’m excited. My company received a huge amount of long-distance phone charges. Upon investigation, the telephone company called and explained that someone had stolen the line to my company’s phone and posted how to make free calls on the Telephone BBS message board. That’s why the charges skyrocketed. And the person who disclosed how to hack my company’s phone was named Rayming. The people at the telephone company told me that he’s a hacker who often does this kind of thing," Susan revealed why the name sounded familiar to her.

"I should’ve said I was busy with work today and canceled the meeting," Susy realized Susan wasn’t joking. Her beautiful eyes shifted sneakily, and she quickly put down her beer and called out towards Jason, "Honey, it’s time for our favorite part again. I’m in trouble, and you pay the bill."

Then she immediately apologized to Susan, "I’m very sorry, but no matter how much was lost, I can reimburse it. Just keep it a secret and don’t file a lawsuit. Just name your price. My boyfriend is very wealthy; he can pay your phone bill for a whole year."

"It’s okay, I know Jason is very wealthy. I will send him the phone bill. We’re all so familiar with each other; it doesn’t matter if he pays me later," Susan gestured for Susy to sit back down and continue the conversation:

"So, Rayming is a woman? When I was at Stanford University, I saw several so-called hackers inside Stanford. They were all chubby boys with thick bottle-bottom glasses. You... you don’t look like you belong to the nerdy crowd. If you went to Stanford, you would definitely be a member of the BDP Blonde Society. All the girls there are beautiful blondes. You look just like them, you know what I mean, the kind of beautiful woman who’s never short of quality boyfriends, can get married right after graduation, whose husband owns a lot of companies, who doesn’t need to take care of her children after giving birth and sends them straight to the nanny, and flies on private jets to Paris for shopping,"

"I’ve never been to college. In fact, I dropped out of school when I was fourteen; of course, I’m not a nerd. But as for being pretty, I’ve known that since I was a child," Susy said with a smile as she looked at Susan:

"Tommy told me you’ve been under a lot of work pressure lately and asked me to talk to you as a woman who sympathizes with your situation, to see if there’s any way to ease your stress. That bastard, making someone else reveal their scars to comfort his woman, he does it without any guilt. No wonder Jason always calls him a douchebag,"

Susan looked at the distant cityscape and took a sip of beer, "Tommy is not a fool. He obviously knows what’s been stressing me out, but instead of bringing it up himself, sending you over basically gave me the answer."

"How old were you the first time a man molested you? My first time happened when I was nine, while my mother was at the supermarket. Her boyfriend, my future stepfather, dragged me into the bathroom," Susy didn’t continue with what Susan had said but instead asked her a surprising question. However, without waiting for Susan’s reply, she started to talk about her own experience: "So, being too pretty as a girl in a single-parent family isn’t necessarily a good thing."

Susan turned her head and looked at Susy in shock.

Susy calmly met Susan’s gaze and continued, "He was an active-duty Navy officer, and my mother was a conservative, old-fashioned housewife and a devout Protestant. She raised her three children to be as prudish as herself, believing that uttering those words would somehow send you to hell. The result was that I couldn’t clearly communicate to her what had happened. I could only repeat, over and over, that the man had done filthy things to me, over and over, and my mother had no reaction at all. She even doubted if what I called filthy was just me not closing the bathroom door properly while a man happened to pass by."

"Looking back, enduring such a thing wasn’t entirely without benefit. If it hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t have become a hacker. After all, a nine-year-old girl couldn’t talk to anyone about it, but I wanted that man to receive the punishment he deserved. So, I started to make calls from home, first to the police station, but when the police showed up, my father got rid of them with the excuse of a child’s prank. He was an officer, and the police believed him. Later, I began to dial random numbers and tell the strangers at the other end that a Navy officer named Andrew had ** a nine-year-old girl. Most of the people took my calls as pranks, but there were always one or two who listened seriously and said they would help report it to the police. But I never saw the police show up, and as the rising phone bills came to my mother’s attention, she realized I was making random calls and put a lock on the rotary dial of our phone—a very delicate one. Once locked, you couldn’t dial a single number, and only she and that man had the keys."
