Chapter 385: Chapter 42: Blatant Aggression_3

Stephen laughed and cursed, then curiously said to Tommy, "Can’t you be a little more civilized? You always manage to talk about things like golf clubs with such boldness? Also, back in the room, you were bragging straight up to Sandra about messing around with other women. Even though Ottelia and Diane were chatting, I’m pretty sure she could hear you. Do you get what I mean? Ottelia may not have any tattoos, but she’s still an important member of CS."

"Don’t worry, she knows I was just bluffing and talking nonsense. I even bragged to her last time that I had a fling with Sophia, and she didn’t believe it at all." Tommy patted Stephen on the shoulder. "But thanks for the thoughtful reminder."

"But in this room, other than her and Zoey, everyone knows you’re not bluffing, man. If... if that chick you hurt tells Ottelia you’ve really been fooling around, how are you going to explain it to her?" Stephen looked at Tommy’s unconcerned expression and asked doubtfully.

Tommy indeed had a habit of speaking without a filter and bragging in front of all women, but in reality, each boast he made would slowly become true. If one day Ottelia genuinely learned that Tommy’s words weren’t just random boasts but the truth...

"She won’t believe it. My dear father-in-law told her that he arranged a bunch of private detectives to keep an eye on me for her. If I ever betray our love, they would immediately let his precious daughter leave me. Even if Ottelia doesn’t believe me, she’ll believe her father," Tommy hesitated for a while before looking at Stephen and giving his answer.

"But in reality, my father-in-law and I have made a vow to never hurt each other and always come forward to clear each other’s names and prove our innocence in times of crisis. I’ve helped him out more than once."

"..." Stephen looked at Tommy, speechless.

He considered himself to have countless friends, but when it came to shamelessness, no one could rival Tommy. Before now, he’d never heard of anyone managing to form a mutual defense alliance with a future father-in-law over infidelity, swearing to help each other prove their innocence.

"By the way, you were trying to date that chick named Sandra, right?" Tommy seemed to remember something and asked Stephen, "I can help you with that."

Stephen sighed, "You’ve already ’thoughtfully’ helped me, Tommy. You successfully made a very deep impression on that woman’s father. To avoid having him break my third leg, I’ve already voluntarily extinguished any feelings for her in my heart."

"You’re welcome." Tommy looked at Stephen, "I can continue to help you."

After the phone call, the two returned to the studio. Ottelia was still exchanging thoughts with Diane Lynn about a Broadway musical they were both interested in, while Matt Dillon had already said his goodbyes and left. He wasn’t under any psychological pressure because he didn’t need Tommy’s approval; he had already obtained Stephen’s promise.

Sandra Block, because of Tommy’s earlier remarks, had lost interest in the movie. She came over to politely say goodbye to everyone, and just as she began to speak, she saw that detestable scoundrel smiling at her:

"Miss Block, I think you don’t need to hurry away. You might as well wait for your father to arrive tomorrow, go through Zoey’s interview, and then leave with him."

"Do you always set up interviews so hastily? I haven’t even had time to prepare the questions," Zoey said, stunned by Tommy’s words. Although she hadn’t officially resigned to start working for Tommy and didn’t need to question his work arrangement yet, it seemed obvious that Tommy’s decision was a bit rash.

"It doesn’t matter what questions you ask him; what’s important are the questions he asks me," Tommy glanced at Zoey, "Besides, it’s just to fill airtime during the broadcast."

Sandra initially thought Tommy was joking, but when she called her father, his assistant told her that they were indeed preparing to return to the States, and not to Washington, but to Los Angeles. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

It couldn’t possibly be that her father was concerned about her status. Ever since she insisted on learning the performing arts, just like her mother, her father had completely ignored her and turned his attention to her sister, who was willing to follow his advice to go to law school.

The only possibility was that this Tommy Hawk had something that intrigued her father.

This made Sandra feel that Tommy’s previous nonsense wasn’t just for fun, he wasn’t interested in her, nor did he need her to connect with her father.

Wilson Block’s meeting with Tommy took place the following afternoon; he didn’t even want to delay further to have dinner with Tommy in the evening because he had already received confirmation that Joseph Smith was indeed planning to start a freight company, and all of the other partners in his company were in the dark just like himself.

Their connections at the Pentagon couldn’t compare to those of a young Stanford University graduate? Even fantasy tales couldn’t conjure up such a scenario.

As for Zoey’s interview and the camera recording, it took place during dinner, with Wilson smiling and answering Zoey’s hastily prepared questions while they ate.

After the interview was concluded, without even needing Tommy to speak up, Wilson volunteered to help Zoey by introducing some comrades from Germany so that she would have the chance to interview them up close after her arrival in Germany.
