Chapter 745: 256, Heir

Helen is pregnant?

Honestly, Donnie was truly shocked by the news.

It wasn’t because old Carl just talked to him about successors, but because although Donnie had crossed over to this world and his current business was huge.

In fact, Donnie didn’t feel a strong sense of belonging to this world; he always felt somewhat out of place here!

Now, Helen had told him she was pregnant!

So, he actually has descendants in this world, a blood connection, something that can’t be ignored just because he was reborn an American!

...

“What’s wrong? Aren’t you happy?”

The usually calm and wise Helen, seeing Donnie standing there without saying anything, asked somewhat frantically.

Before this, they had never discussed these things!

“No!” Donnie grinned happily, “I just didn’t expect the news to come so suddenly!”

“What’s so sudden about it? Given how often you two go out, it’d be weird if she wasn’t pregnant!” Alice’s voice came from the sofa, dripping with sarcasm.

Donnie didn’t mind Alice’s sarcasm and helped Helen to her feet, laughing, “I’m very happy. How long has it been?”

Helen, seeing Donnie’s happy expression, finally let out a sigh of relief and then said with a smile, “I went to the hospital today for a check-up. It should be over a month now!”

Donnie nodded, and after helping Helen sit down, he immediately called the housemaids over and personally instructed them to be more careful from now on when doing things, to avoid any accidents that could affect Helen.

He also told one of the maids to take over caring for Helen from today onward!

In the end, Donnie made a call to Walker and specified that he wanted Walker’s wife to answer the phone.

“Dear Donnie, why have you been asking my wife to answer every call recently? You’re going to give me a headache!”

Walker joked with Donnie.

“Cut the crap, Helen is pregnant, did you hear me, Helen is pregnant!” Donnie said excitedly, “Have Maholi tell me some of the details that need to be paid attention to. Oh yeah, I’ll make you a list later. There are some things Atlantic City doesn’t have; bring them from New York for me tomorrow!”

Donnie’s excitement was increasingly obvious at that time.

Seeing Donnie like this, Helen, touching her belly, also showed a blissful smile on her face. As for Alice, she couldn’t stand it anymore; she snorted coldly and then stood up and left the living room.

After Maholi picked up the phone on the other end, she first told Donnie some things that he needed to be mindful of before passing the phone to Helen, and the two of them started whispering to each other.

Then Donnie used another phone in the living room to call John’s house and told Carl and Jennifer the news. Both of them, upon hearing the news, also immediately said they would come over!

That night, Donnie looked at Helen, who was already asleep, gently kissed her on the cheek, then got out of bed, left the room, and pushed open Alice’s door.

“Want to go out for a stroll?”

Donnie had actually noticed Alice’s emotional change a while back. Currently, neither of them was married to Donnie, and before Donnie fulfilled his own dream of buying an island and becoming a king, he hadn’t planned on marrying either of them—a fact both Helen and Alice were well aware of.

What was once a good balance among the three was now disrupted due to Helen’s pregnancy.

Donnie was worried that Alice might overthink, so that was why he came over at this time.

“At this hour, you want me to go out for a stroll with you?”

Alice pounced like a hungry tiger, clinging onto Donnie, “Don’t you think we should be striving to drive at this time?”

Well, I thought too much!

Donnie realized that tonight was destined to be a fierce battle; no one was going to have it easy!

The next day…

Donnie got up unusually late; when he opened his eyes, it was already past nine in the morning. He turned his head to see Alice still deep in sleep.

After washing up and dressing, Donnie struggled out of the room. As he closed the door behind him, he straightened up, trying to appear completely normal.

Downstairs, he saw Jennifer, chatting with Helen and Evelyn Melo, while old Carl and John were at the other side of the living room, near the bar, drinking!

When they saw Donnie coming downstairs, John happily walked over and hugged him tightly, “Congratulations, my brother!”

Donnie asked with a smile, “When did you come over?”

John replied with a smile, “I came over this morning. I just didn’t expect you would only come down now!”

Donnie glanced at Evelyn Melo sitting on the couch and said meaningfully, “You’ll understand when your house gets another lady of the house!”

John nodded as if he got the hint.

“Didn’t expect you to be smart at this time!” Donnie said, puzzled.

John was taken aback and then started to tussle with Donnie.

In the end, it was Jennifer who called them to stop their scuffling.

These people had already had breakfast, so Donnie naturally had to eat by himself. Feeling great, Donnie decided to treat himself and eat out!

Sure, the outside restaurant couldn’t match his chefs’ skills, but at this moment, Donnie suddenly missed the flavors of the past.
