Alpha's replacement bride is destined mate-Chapter 67 Past Grudges
Emily lies topless on the spacious couch as Klaus’s fingers slowly trace over her sexy collarbone. Klaus had carried her straight to the couch after their earlier shower, and she hadn’t yet realized that the bathroom even had a door leading directly to the VIP lounge.
"I want to talk to you about something," Klaus said, supporting himself on the sofa with one hand. As he looked sideways at Emily, something seemed to be hidden in those green eyes.
"What is it?"
Klaus’s eyes lowered, and after two seconds, he said, "It’s about Maya."
Oh, Maya, the woman who had been caught between them. The last time she had quarreled with him, it was because of this very woman.
Maya was the mate he used to have, the one whose name he used to call out in the middle of the night, while Emily lay beside him.
Now, was he finally willing to talk to her about this woman?
Emily sighed softly, "Alright."
"Here, come to me." Klaus lifted Emily so that she rested against his firm chest, and then he laid his head lightly on her shoulder.
"Maya was my first mate and my wife," he said, his tone low, with a faint suggestion of sadness, like an old man recounting his past through the ages. "But she died."
Emily was shocked when Marx told her that Maya had left Klaus, but what she didn’t know was that by "left," Marx meant dead.
She had fought him over a dead woman, for heaven’s sake, and now she regretted it. She was sorry that she had so ruthlessly reopened his wounds in the first place, and she could imagine how much it must have hurt him at the time.
"Klaus, if you don’t want to talk about it, don’t. Ever." Emily turned to Klaus as she caressed his sad face. "It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have brought her up in front of you."
"No, Emily," Klaus held Emily’s hand, his tone bitter but firm. "I think it’s time to say goodbye to the past. Please let me finish my sentence."
Emily nodded, indicating that she would respect him and be a quiet listener if he insisted on talking about Maya.
"I met Maya when I was younger. We knew each other at a party, where she was an Omega maid. Once I discovered she was my mate, I married her." Klaus’s voice was low, and he paused for a few seconds before continuing. "Then the king sent me to attack the West, so I bid Maya farewell and headed to the battlefield. It was a protracted battle, and Alpha, who led the West, was a prince and the toughest opponent I had ever faced in my life. However, just at the crucial moment when I was dueling with him, Maya unexpectedly appeared on the battlefield."
As Emily heard this, she could imagine what was to follow, but she did not interrupt; she remained silent and continued to listen.
"She..." Klaus’s throat felt as if something was stuck in it, making it difficult for him to speak. After two deep breaths, he said with difficulty, "I saw her running towards me, and then an arrow hit her directly in the head from behind. I just watched as she collapsed in front of me. The moment she fell, it was as if my heart died."
"Klaus, stop it." Emily hugged Klaus, and she could feel his grief.
"Let me finish." Klaus buried his head in Emily’s hair, inhaling deeply the fragrance of her hair, and seemed to gain courage. He continued, "Maya’s appearance distracted me from the battle. Just then, a white light pierced my eye, and I fell to the ground injured. From then on, it was as if I had gone blind in one eye; I couldn’t see anything."
So that’s why he wears sunglasses all the time, to cover his injured eye. Emily gazed into Klaus’s dark green eye, like a deep pool, a stagnant puddle without any gloss.
"Can’t even the best doctor cure your eye?" Emily asked, distressed.
Klaus shook his head. "The doctor said that my eye was injured by magic, and that medical means can’t cure it at all."
"Magic hurt your eye?" Emily was shocked. "So your enemy used magic to defeat you?"
"Apparently, he had a helper who knew magic, and that helper happened to show up just as he was about to be killed by me. The helper, who was hiding in the rear, not only killed Maya but also wounded me in the eye with magic." Klaus’s tone revealed a wave of hatred. "I swore that I would kill him myself."
"Your enemy," Emily asked cautiously. "What’s his name?"
Klaus’s eyes were fixed forward, as though his enemy stood directly in front of him.
"His name is Elijah, and right now, he is the wolf king of the West." Klaus’s face darkened at the mention of the name, and every word he uttered was as unbearably cold as winter ice.
Elijah, Elijah. Emily repeated the name in her mind. The man, Elijah, had already wounded Klaus. He was Klaus’s enemy, as well as hers.

The Palace of the West
As night falls, Elijah sits on the sofa by the window, wearing a set of dark gray linen pajamas. The thin moonlight from the window falls on his thin and cold face. His long black hair stands naturally vertical, and his gray, almost transparent eyes are staring at the iPad in front of him.
He scans carefully through the news about Emily that Haley has sent him. Since Haley had succeeded in getting into the Northern Palace, she had become Emily’s personal maid, and Elijah had asked Haley to report to him every few days on what was going on with Emily on a daily basis. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
As a top undercover agent, Haley did not disappoint. Not only did she photograph Emily, but she also recorded some of their conversations.
Elijah looks at Emily’s picture on the screen and runs his fingers back and forth over it, as if he were touching her. He hears Emily’s voice on the tape, and it is as gentle as it had been all those years ago.
The scent of gardenias drifted through the window, and Elijah leaned back on the sofa, turned his head toward the window, and breathed deeply, imagining that Emily must smell even sweeter than the gardenias.
He closed his eyes, and Emily’s face appeared in his mind. He could not forget her captivating blue eyes. He could not forget her soothing voice. Even though it had been many years since then, the events of that night remained vivid in his memory.
Was it all a coincidence, Elijah wondered to himself.
He had thought that he would never fall for another woman in his life, because from the day he was born, the prophet had predicted that he was a lone wolf, that he would never find a MATE, that he was destined to be alone for the rest of his life.
Born into a royal family, he had never enjoyed the favor of his father or mother. His mother, after giving birth to him and his brothers, was imprisoned in a tall tower. This was because his father believed that keeping children with their mothers only made them weaker.
He and his brothers had to undergo rigorous training from an early age. He learned how to kill at the age of ten. He became accustomed to the smell of blood and grew impossibly cold.
He had never been warmed by anyone and did not know what love was. It was only when he was wounded on a mission in the South that the girl who saved him gave him his first glimpse of what warmth was.
She was like a faint beam of light accidentally cast into the darkness of hell. Although her presence was brief, it made the rest of his life memorable, for he who had long been in the shadows.
He had thought he would never see her again, but he did not realize that she had become the bride of his enemy, and at the same time, she was the most crucial piece of information in the dark gods’ prophecy.
It was just that he could not act rashly with her now, and the Dark Sorcerer had not yet deciphered what that prophecy truly meant. As the Dark Wizard advised him: to unleash the undead army against Klaus, he needed to be utterly patient.
Certainly, here’s a revised version of the text with corrected grammar and adjusted phrasing to better fit American English novelistic expression:
But according to Haley, Klaus and his bride will be traveling to the South next week. Elijah surmises that the trip won’t be that simple, and given the failure of the last Plaza bombing, the North must harbor resentment against the West.
Perhaps the Wolf King of the North would ally with the South to attack the West. If that’s the case, he’ll have to reassess the current situation. After a moment, Elijah decided to set aside state affairs and relax appropriately.
Elijah slowly opened his eyes and called out to his butler, "Send her in."
Presently, a woman entered, pushing her way through the door. She wore only a white lace dress with nothing beneath it. Slowly, the woman approached Elijah, smiling and curtsying to him.
"Good evening, Your Majesty." Her long brown hair cascaded over her shoulders, and her high, full breasts were visible in the light.
"What is your name?" Elijah’s cold gaze swept over the woman.
"My name is Lacey, Your Majesty."
"No, your name is Emily." Elijah stood up as he roughly undressed the woman.
"Turn around." Elijah had the woman place her hands on the edge of the couch, and then he lifted her round bottom.
"What’s your name?" Elijah asked again.
"My name is Emily." The woman had learned her lesson this time.
"Very good." Elijah spread the woman’s legs as he removed his pants and thrust his cock straight into her from behind.
"Emily, I want you to start saying my name now," Elijah commanded the woman. "You can’t stop until I tell you to."
"Yes, Elijah."
He began thrusting hard into the woman. He imagined that the woman was Emily, and that he possessed her completely.
"Elijah, Elijah." The woman’s moans echoed through the bedroom until dawn.
