Alpha's replacement bride is destined mate-Chapter 203 You’re finally awake
North, Purple Star Pack
" You’ve been asleep for a long time. Klaus." Standing next to the hospital bed, Marx gazed down at Klaus as he lay unconscious in it.
Dr. Stephen told Marx that the best way to wake Klaus up was to talk to him every day. So Marx would take time out of his day to come to the hospital room and talk to Klaus, and on each occasion Marx would tell Klaus about the recent events in the country.
" When are you going to wake up? " Marx sighed," Dyson has the king under house arrest and he has ceded a few packs along the border to the west. Now everybody is waiting for you. Klaus, You can’t sleep any longer."
Marx ended with a moment’s silence, expecting Klaus to respond to what he had said. But there was no sound in the room, except for the faint sound of medical instruments attached to Klaus’s body.
Klaus remained unconscious.
At that moment, the door to the hospital room was gently pushed open and Marx turned his head to see Susan standing in the doorway. " What’s up? " Marx asked.
"Here’s your phone. " Susan handed Marx her cell phone, "It’s Dolly."
" Dolly?" Marx felt elated, and then he took the phone away from Susan.
Marx leaves the hospital room, finding a quiet corner to answer Dolly’s call. "Hey, Marx here." Marx said, lighting a cigarette.
"Hey Marx." comes Dolly’s voice on the other end of the line, "I found Emily."
" Really?" Marx asked, taking a drag on his cigarette, " Where are you guys now?"
" We..." Dolly hesitated for a moment, "We’re in the south."
" South?" Marx asked in surprise, " Why are you in the south?"
Dolly on the other end of the line took a deep breath as if she had made a difficult decision, " Listen, Marx. Elijah uses witch magic to erase Emily’s memories. She remembers nothing from before, including Klaus. Now she is safe in the south, she will never leave the south again, do you understand?"
"I don’t understand what you mean. " Marx snuffed out his cigarette and threw it on the ground, he pressed," Emily is Klaus’ mate, she is the crown princess of the North, why would she stay in the South?"
"The situation has changed. " Dolly said," now the south and the north are two opposing countries. Emily is the princess of the south, the king will not allow her to return to the north."
"What? " Marx was shocked, "Emily is the princess of the South?"
"Yes. " Dolly said, "Soon our king will annul Emily and Klaus’ marriage. They are no longer husband and wife."
"Wait. " Marx hastened to explain," The North and the South are at loggerheads because Dyson is the one who chose to cling to the West. If it was Klaus, he wouldn’t have done it."
" So is Klaus awake?"
Dolly’s words pierced Marx’s heart like a needle. After a few seconds, Marx said painfully, " No."
Then Marx heard a sigh from the other end of the line, " Marx, if Klaus does wake up one day, tell him that Emily is over him."
"That would be cruel to him. " Marx clenched his fists, "You know how much Klaus loves Emily, how can you—"
"Marx, we can’t change the situation. " Dolly paused for two seconds, "I’ve already told you too much. Goodbye, Marx."
"Wait, Dolly." Marx’s tone was urgent and full of resignation, "You’re not coming back either?"
"No. " Dolly said decisively, "We won’t see each other again."
The next second, Dolly hung up the phone. Marx immediately called back, but all that came back was a busy signal. Dolly’s phone is off, cutting off the only way Marx can reach her.
"Damn it. " Marx slammed his fist into the cold wall, feeling angry and helpless at this point.
......
The twin princesses sneak in while Marx is out of the hospital room. They crept over to Klaus’s bed, and Mina turned his eyelids with her hand. She pulled out a tiny flashlight and shone it into Klaus’s pupils as a doctor would.
" Is he still unresponsive?" Maggie asked.
" No." Mina put the torch back in her pocket, frowning as if she feared for her patient’s welfare.
" We need to find a way to wake him up. " Maggie said," That bastard Dyson is actually trying to force mom to marry him in order to be king. I don’t want Dyson to be my stepfather."
" Maybe we should try to wake him up through another method. " Mina thought for a moment," How about the electric shock?"
" I agree." Maggie raised her hand in agreement as she glanced at one of the yellow wires connecting the apparatus to Klaus’ body." But I think we should take those damn wires away from Klaus. That instrument is too noisy."
"Are you nuts? " Mina slapped Maggie on the head, "Once you take those wires away from Klaus, that damn instrument will sound like an alarm. Dr. Stephen and Marx will certainly come over. Do you want them to find out what we’re doing?"
"What are we going to do then? " Maggie asked rhetorically, "How can you be sure those wires won’t be affected when they electrocute Klaus? What if we get him killed?"
"Shit. What do you think we should do then?"
" How about giving him our latest research ’perfume’ ? " Maggie suggested.
"That’s ’poison perfume’ " Mina scolded Maggie, " Do you want to poison him?"
" What do you think we should do?"
" How should I know?" Mina scratched her hair, " Damn it. If only Dolly was here, she would know what to do."
" Dolly has gone to the West to look for Emily and she hasn’t come back yet." Maggie beamed in displeasure, " Is Dolly planning not to come back?"
" Oh, I miss Dolly, I miss Emily," Mina showed sad eyes, " Dolly, Emily, where are you?"
At that moment a hoarse, muffled voice intervened, sounding like a worn-out bellows being pulled with feeble but unmistakable strength.
"Where’s Emily?"
"Who’s talking?" Minna’s eyes widened momentarily, and her gaze swept the hospital room in a panic before finally looking curiously up at the ceiling, trying to locate the source of the sound.
"Oh, God." Maggie let out a sudden gasp as she pointed behind Mina, "Klaus, Klaus."
Maggie’s eyes were as wide as brass bells, and her mouth was slightly open in disbelief.
Mina turned her head sharply, and saw Klaus, who had been lying lifeless in his hospital bed, slowly sitting up. He moved a little slowly, as if every joint were rusty, and his muscles trembled a little as he exerted himself.
Klaus’s face was as white as paper, his lips were dry and cracked, and there was not a drop of blood in them, but his green eyes looked straight at the twins like burning fire. Word for word, he asked, "Where is Emily?"
Mina and Maggie looked at the waking Klaus, and both of them screamed at the same time.
