Alpha's replacement bride is destined mate-Chapter 183 I Am the Only One You Will Remember
She had quite forgotten about Klaus. From now on, Elijah thought to himself, she will only remember my name.
Elijah gazed at the sleeping Emily, her curls cascading over her pillow, her skin as pale as winter snow, and her lips resembling delicate rose petals.
She looked so enticing.
Elijah couldn’t help but lean down, pressing his lips to her soft neck, and the sweetness of her distinctive peach scent ignited his flesh with desire.
How he longed to possess her now, but he couldn’t.
He knew that whatever he did to Emily in her current state, she wouldn’t resist, but what was the difference between that and rape?
What he truly desired was for Emily to respond passionately to him when he touched her. He wanted Emily to be deeply in love with him. He wanted her heart to belong to him forever.
Emily should have been his, for he had seen her first. It was Klaus who had stolen the rose from him.
He had vowed that he would have Emily, no matter what.
"Emily, you are mine now," Elijah whispered as he kissed her on the lips. "I will never let you leave my side, ever."
Elijah then lay down beside Emily. He cradled the sleeping woman in his arms. The warmth of her body provided him immense comfort, and the sound of her breathing brought him a peace he had never felt before.
She was the only woman who had ever warmed him, the only woman who had ever given him a taste of love.
He was madly, deeply in love with Emily.
.......
North, Purple Star Pack
It had been many days since Dolly had arrived at the Purple Star Pack, and each passing day was a torture for her.
Ever since that night when they had parted from Emily, Susan had led the rest of the group to the Purple Star Pack. Susan’s uncle, the Alpha of the Purple Star Pack, had welcomed them in. Even with the comfortable living quarters provided for them at Alpha Salem, Dolly couldn’t live here comfortably without worrying about Emily’s safety.
She was debating whether to tell Adam about Emily’s accident, but even if she did, what could Adam do? Send an army to find Emily? Besides, she didn’t even know where Emily was now.
Dolly believed Emily was still alive.
Dolly decided to go to Susan first and inquire about the situation outside. So, early in the morning, she went to Susan’s room. She stood outside the door and knocked softly.
"Come in," Susan’s voice came from behind the door.
Dolly pushed the door open and entered. Susan, dressed in a snug light gray sweatshirt, looked as if she were about to go out for a run.
"Good morning, Dolly," Susan said as she tied her hair up with a black hairband. "What did you want to see me about?"
"I wanted to ask you about something," Dolly got straight to the point. "What’s going on outside right now?"
Susan looked at her curiously. "You want to go outside?"
"I’m going to find Emily," Dolly said.
"But it’s not safe outside right now. You shouldn’t leave the pack at this time," Susan warned.
"It’s my duty to protect Emily, and now that I’ve lost her, I’m going to get her back," Dolly’s tone was firm.
Susan hesitated for a moment. "Okay."
She closed the door and said to Dolly, "My uncle told me that Dyson announced to the public that Klaus died in battle after losing the war. Dyson had agreed to a truce with the West. Not only did Dyson agree to cede some of his territory to the West as compensation, he even decided to join forces with the West to attack the South."
"What?" Dolly was shocked beyond belief at the news that the North was actually about to join forces with the West to attack the South.
Things had changed so quickly.
"In two days, Dyson will be holding an Alpha conference at the border, where they will discuss which packs will be ceded to the West. My uncle will also be at the meeting. He’s worried about his pack being included in the list," Susan sighed. "That’s all I know."
"Does the King concur with Dyson’s decision as well?" Dolly inquired.
"I’ve been informed that the King seldom makes an appearance these days," Susan whispered, lowering her voice. "My uncle and the other Alphas suspect that Dyson has placed the King under house arrest. And now, Dyson represents the King in all official matters, even though the entire Capitol is swarming with Dyson’s men."
"When did you mention that Dyson would be at the border for a meeting?"
"Two days from today," came the reply.
Dolly nodded thoughtfully, and Susan, with a glance, discerned her thoughts. "Dolly, are you plotting something?" 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
"Perhaps Emily is in Dyson’s clutches," Dolly confessed without hesitation, voicing her innermost concerns. "I need to uncover the truth behind this."
"Are you insane?" Susan’s tension was palpable. "If Dyson discovers our presence here, my uncle and the entire pack will suffer."
"I won’t involve you guys," Dolly assured her.
"Dolly, don’t take any unnecessary risks, okay?" Susan advised patiently. "I can ask my uncle for help; perhaps he can uncover Emily’s whereabouts through other channels."
"No, I must do this myself," Dolly was resolute. "You can choose to assist me or not."
"How exactly do you want me to help you?"
"I need you to find a way to inform me precisely when and where Dyson will arrive at the border. I’ll handle the rest," Dolly stated.
"What do you intend to do?" Susan asked.
"I’ll find a way to silence Dyson and force him to reveal Emily’s location," Dolly replied.
"That’s not going to work," Susan countered. "Dyson must have numerous bodyguards surrounding him; you won’t be able to get close to him."
"I’ll try it regardless," Dolly insisted.
"What if you get caught?"
Dolly chuckled. "Then I’ll slit my throat. Believe me, I won’t let Dyson extract anything from me."
Dolly knew the plan was perilous, but she had no alternative. She had promised Adam that she would defend Emily to the death, and if anything happened to Emily, she would have to sacrifice her own life to atone for her failure.
"You Southern women are crazy," Susan said, shaking her head.
"So, will you help me?"
Susan looked helplessly at Dolly, who nodded in affirmation.
