Alpha's replacement bride is destined mate-Chapter 130 Establishing a Spiritual Connection
When Emily woke up the next day, Klaus was gone. He had kissed her on the forehead before leaving and whispered, as she was still groggy, that he was heading to work.
As Emily got up, the maid brought her breakfast. It was then that she remembered Dolly had been in the twin princesses’ room the night before.
She wondered how Dolly and the twin princesses were getting along. Twin princesses, after all, don’t think like normal people. What if they made all sorts of bizarre demands of Dolly?
So, after Emily had dressed, she headed to the twin princesses’ room. As she pushed the door open, she saw the floor strewn with cards and leftover snacks, Dolly and Minna asleep on the couch, and Maggie sprawled on the carpet, all three in matching pink nightgowns.
Slowly opening her eyes, Dolly saw Emily standing in the room and squinted at her, muttering something Emily couldn’t quite make out.
"Emily, you’re here," Maggie said, slowly climbing to her feet and running a hand through her disheveled hair. "Is it morning already?"
"Oh, shoot," Mina yawned. "We’re going to be late for school."
"Silly, it’s the holidays," Maggie reminded her sister. "We don’t have to go to school."
"Were you guys partying last night?" Emily asked curiously.
"We were playing cards," Dolly said, now fully awake and sitting up to rub her eyes.
"Well, since you’re all up, let’s have breakfast first," Emily said, directing the maid to prepare their meal.
After breakfast, Emily offered to take Dolly shopping to familiarize her with the capital. When the twin princesses heard this, they begged to come along too. Emily relented to their request.
Soon, Emily, Dolly, and the twin princesses left the palace in a royal car. Along the way, the twins chattered excitedly, telling Emily that they were now great friends with Dolly and wanted her to play with them every day.
"Just one night, and you’re one of them?" Emily teased Dolly. "I was worried you wouldn’t be able to handle them, but now it seems my worries were unfounded."
"Maybe I’m the only one who can understand their language," Dolly shrugged. "We’re good friends now, as they say."
"Let’s go shopping," Mina suggested. "It’s been ages since I’ve bought new clothes."
"Why don’t we buy the same clothes and wear them?" Maggie said excitedly. "Emily, are you going to wear the same clothes as us?"
Emily couldn’t imagine herself in a pink tutu, so she shook her head. "No, thank you. I think our tastes differ."
The twin princesses looked disappointed, but soon they arrived at a mall. Holding Dolly’s hand, the twins led her from store to store, with Emily trailing behind like a chaperone.
As the twin princesses browsed a jewelry store, Emily’s phone rang.
"Lover," Klaus’s voice came from the other end of the phone. "Where are you?"
"Me, your sisters, and Dolly are shopping at the mall," Emily replied. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Send me your location," Klaus said. "I’ll pick you up and we’ll go to lunch together."
Emily hung up and sent Klaus her current location.
.......
Klaus rose early in the morning and went with Marx to the army headquarters, for today the weapons furnished by the Southern Crown had been delivered. They needed to go and inspect the weapons themselves.
After passing through five security checkpoints, Klaus and Marx finally reached the underground weapons depot at the army command center. It was like a mysterious fortress hidden in the darkness, exuding an air of grim severity.
Klaus, standing outside a heavy protective door, emanated the impregnable majesty of a silent steel giant. He focused his eyes on the access-control scanner beside the door. A faint light flickered, and after his iris had been successfully verified, the black metal protective door slowly creaked open with a dull sound.
The room was filled with weapons of all kinds, but they were neatly arranged. Light poured down from the ceiling, casting a harsh glow on the cold metal surfaces. Guns, shells, knives, and other weapons were sorted in a methodical manner, like soldiers awaiting inspection. On the walls hung massive weapons racks holding a variety of high-powered firearms, their barrels gleaming in the light.
The floor was made of solid cement, spotless, as if it could reflect a human figure. A faint smell of motor oil and metal permeated the entire space, giving a strong sense of industry and power. Each weapon here seemed to contain a vast amount of energy, ready to unleash deadly force on the battlefield.
"Are these all the weapons supplied by the South?" Marx couldn’t help but sigh as he surveyed the various weapons in the room. The weapons were beautifully crafted and deadly, showcasing immense skill. "It seems that the weapons provided by the South this time are enough for us to deal with the West."
"The kings of the South want to maintain their alliance with us, but they don’t want to be drawn into our fight with the West," Klaus scanned all the weapons in the room, a hint of contemplation in his eyes. "These weapons are the king’s compensation to us."
In this space filled with weapons, they seemed to glimpse the smoke and flames of war on the battlefield of the future, and they felt the complex intentions of the King of the South.
"Let’s start counting these weapons," Klaus’s voice echoed through the arsenal with a sense of composure and determination. Marx nodded, and the two men delved into intense work.
They moved from weapon rack to weapon rack, scrutinizing each weapon. Their fingers brushed over the cold metal surfaces, feeling the texture and weight of the weapons. They checked, one by one, the type, number, and condition of the weapons against the list, leaving no detail overlooked. The hours passed quietly, in a hectic fashion, with only the soft sound of their footsteps and the occasional murmur echoing in the arsenal.
It was nearly noon when they finally finished counting the arms. Klaus breathed a long sigh of relief, and his face wore a weary but satisfied smile. After leaving the arsenal, Klaus seemed to be in a lighter mood.
Klaus calls Emily, who asks him to pick her up for lunch. Emily sends him her exact location, and he promptly drives to fetch her.
Klaus had reserved a table at a suburban restaurant, and upon collecting Emily, he took her there.
"Nature’s Restaurant?" Emily stepped out of the car, gazing at the restaurant sign. "Have you been here before?"
The natural eatery resembles a fairy-tale haven, nestled at the edge of a lush wooded area. The exterior of the restaurant is crafted from natural wood and stone, blending seamlessly with its surroundings. The roof is covered with green vines and tiny flowers, adding a touch of life and romance to the establishment.
Klaus nodded, "I stumbled upon this restaurant years ago when I happened to pass by. It’s owned by a chef who adores nature and uses only ingredients from his own vegetable garden and farm."
"Then the food here must be delicious," Emily said, her eyes filled with anticipation.
As they entered the dining room, a breath of fresh air greeted them. The hall was furnished with wooden tables and chairs, simple and rustic. Sunlight streamed in through large, floor-to-ceiling windows, casting warm patches of light on the floor. The walls were adorned with a variety of dried flowers and greenery.
The menu was curated by the restaurant, and each dish was infused with the flavors of nature. A fresh lettuce salad, dotted with red tomatoes and purple shredded cabbage, was a colorful and appetizing sight. The refreshing cucumber soup was lightly fragrant and smooth, as if one could feel the vitality of cucumbers growing in the field. There were also roasted pumpkins; the golden squash was perfectly roasted, with a slightly crunchy skin and a soft, glutinous, sweet interior that was mellow and rich, complemented by a homemade sauce.
Klaus and Emily sat by the window, enjoying their meal and admiring the view. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves, and time seemed to slow down. They indulged in the peaceful and beautiful atmosphere, savoring each other’s company and the gifts of nature.
After the meal, Klaus suggested taking a stroll around the neighborhood. He told Emily about a large patch of wild roses growing in the woods behind the restaurant, and that it was the season for them to be in full bloom.
"Let’s race and see who gets to the wild roses first. Follow this path until you reach where they’re in full bloom," Klaus said.
"I’m going to win," Emily confidently declared.
"When I count to three, the game starts," Klaus said. "One, two, three."
As soon as Klaus counted to three, Emily darted forward as fast as she could, not even glancing back at Klaus.
But when she reached the spot where the wild roses were blooming, there was no sign of Klaus.
"Klaus, where are you?" Emily called out anxiously.
Her voice echoed through the woods, but there was no response. The wild roses swayed gently in the breeze, as if sighing at her unease.
"Emily, I’m right here with you," an inner voice said to Emily. "Just feel me with your heart."
"Where are you?" Emily asked.
"Close your eyes and respond to me with the voice of your heart, love," Klaus’s voice said to her. "I’m establishing a psychic connection with you."
Emily took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
"Klaus, do you hear me?" This time, she called out to Klaus with the voice of her heart.
"Yes, I heard you," Klaus replied telepathically. "You did it, my love. Now, open your eyes."
When Emily opened her eyes, Klaus was standing in front of her. She was surprised and said, "How did you do that?"
"I told you, I’m always with you," Klaus hugged Emily tightly and whispered in her ear, "Remember, I’ll find you wherever you are."
The warm sunlight fell gently upon them, enveloping them in a golden glow. They clung to each other in the silence of the woods, and everything around them seemed to stand still for them. The breeze blew, the wild roses, in full bloom, swayed, and their rich fragrance filled the air, seeping into their hearts.
