Alpha's Regret: The Seventh Time was Forever-Chapter 93 – MindNest
Right after the divorce, two things about Seraphine had started circling around in Voren’s mind in a way that refused to quiet down, because no matter how many times he replayed everything he had seen and heard, the pieces never seemed to settle into a picture that made any sense to him at all.
The first thing that had struck him was the realization that Seraphine possessed the kind of cyber intelligence that people spent entire lifetimes chasing and never quite reaching, the type of sharp, intricate brilliance that allowed her to maneuver through digital systems as though they were nothing more than familiar hallways in a house she had lived in for years.
The second thing had followed immediately after that realization, and it had only made everything more confusing because it turned out that she was also a software developer whose work carried a level of sophistication that left experienced engineers speechless.
And yet those two discoveries were only fragments of the bigger puzzle, because Voren had not forgotten the most unbelievable part of it all, which was the fact that Seraphine was also a fully trained medical doctor.
Every time the thought crossed his mind, the same question rose up again with even greater intensity.
How?
Had she learned all of those things while she had been living her life beside Ravyn as his Luna, quietly building an entire world of knowledge behind the scenes while everyone else saw nothing beyond the title she carried?
Or had there always been something more hidden beneath the surface of who she was, something nobody around her had cared enough to uncover until now?
The questions ran into each other inside Voren’s mind, one after another, each one leading into the next without offering any answers, and the constant loop only tightened the restless anxiety coiling in his chest.
"Who exactly are you?" Mark asked from across the room, his voice thick with genuine astonishment as his eyes stayed fixed on the massive projection unfolding in front of them.
The holographic display floated in the center of the space like something pulled straight out of a futuristic dream, layers of glowing information hovering in midair as Seraphine guided it with effortless confidence.
Ravyn stood a short distance away, looking so stunned that it almost seemed like he had just watched a ghost walk into the room.
His expression carried that hollow disbelief people wore when they realized they had misunderstood someone completely.
He stared at Seraphine as though he were trying to search his memory for a single moment during their years together that might explain where she had learned all of this.
But nothing came to him.
Leon stayed silent through the entire exchange, although the quiet pride lighting up his eyes was impossible to hide while he watched Seraphine hold the attention of every single person in the room without even trying.
Over the years he had met countless women, dated a handful of them, and spent his younger days enjoying the kind of reckless adventures that usually came with wealth and youthful curiosity.
Most of those encounters had followed the same pattern.
The women he crossed paths with often wanted money, expensive gifts, luxurious trips, and every kind of indulgence that could make life easier or more entertaining.
Seraphine, however, stood in front of some of the most intimidating minds in the room and competed with them in a way that would have made even seasoned professionals nervous.
She stood there surrounded by powerful men whose intellect alone could make others uneasy, yet she carried herself with a confidence that made it feel as though she belonged among them more than anyone else.
Leon understood that he probably should have felt intimidated by that.
Instead, what filled his chest was something entirely different.
He felt lucky.
Lucky that their lives had crossed paths.
Lucky that fate had placed him close enough to witness the woman she truly was.
And deep down, a quiet promise formed in his mind as he watched her speak with calm authority, because he knew that their relationship might only exist as part of a carefully arranged agreement right now, yet that truth did nothing to weaken the determination growing stronger inside him.
Slowly, patiently, he would win her heart.
Not through pressure, not through manipulation, but through patience and honesty until the day came when she chose him completely.
Even though their connection had begun as nothing more than a strategic arrangement meant to serve a larger purpose, the admiration he felt for her had become something far more genuine than he had ever expected.
"See?" Leon said after letting the stunned silence stretch long enough for the weight of Seraphine’s display to settle over everyone present.
His voice carried across the room with calm confidence while he glanced at the gathered group.
"All of you would have completely missed the opportunity to see what she wanted to bring to the table," he continued, the edge in his tone making it clear that the situation had proven a point he had been holding back for a while.
"And honestly, that makes me think some of your rules might need to be looked at again... or maybe thrown out entirely."
A deep, attentive quiet settled over the room.
Every set of eyes slowly moved toward Voren, the unspoken expectation in the air making it obvious that everyone was waiting to hear what he would say next.
Voren stood there for a moment, thinking through everything that had just unfolded.
His mind replayed the earlier events when Ravyn had tried to use his little tricks to push Seraphine out of the Sovereign Circle, and the realization hit him with uncomfortable clarity.
If Ravyn had succeeded, none of them would have seen any of this.
They would have lost the chance to witness something remarkable simply because their traditions had never imagined someone like Seraphine stepping into the room.
"You are right," Voren finally said after a long moment, his voice steady as he nodded once.
"We will revisit the rules."
A small smile spread across Seraphine’s lips when she heard the decision, and without wasting another second she turned her attention back to the presentation waiting for her.
"Thank you, Voren," she began, her voice carrying across the room with the kind of clarity that made every word feel precise and confident.
She used his name without attaching any formal title to it, although by that point the glowing hologram had captured everyone’s attention so completely that nobody even noticed.
"I would like to introduce something I call MindNest," she continued, her gaze landing on Ravyn, whose expression made her want to laugh...
