Chapter 141: Chapter 141

Lily POV

A few hours later, he returned.

I had showered and rested at least. As soon as I heard the key rattle in its lock, I sprang into a sitting position, I couldn’t give him the notion that I was enjoying my stay. When he finally entered the bedroom, he paused at the doorway as his eyes roamed the room before finally landing on my face.

“You’re dressed?” he asked stepping inside but still leaving the door open.

“As you can see,” I muttered, rising to my feet and smoothening the yellow dress I had seen in the wardrobe. “What now?”

“C’mon, Lily,” he tried to reach for me but I took a step backwards. “You don’t have to be mean to me. I’ve tried to give you everything you want and need. The least you could do is appreciate me. Is it too much to ask for?”

“You’ve done nothing that needs my appreciation, Lucas,” I said squarely. “What next? Please tell me.”

He wanted to say something but decided against it. “Dinner. I guess you’re hungry. You didn’t touch the meal I placed in the basement.”

“Dinner sounds wonderful,” I said in a clipped tone, ignoring his question as I started for the door. He followed after me and together we made our way to the living room. At the corner of the living room was a dining table that was already set

There were several plates of food on it. I continued to it, ignoring Lucas who asked me to slow down. He helped me draw out a chair and settled me in before settling.

“Everything here is your favorite dish and dessert. I hope you enjoy ilt.”

I simply nodded and scooped a plate of the bone broth into one of the serving plates.

A while later, after we were done with dinner, I straightened and relaxed on the chair. I forced myself to push past the memories, past the emotions swirling in my chest. I had spent enough time letting Lucas play his twisted games.

I needed to be strong, to think clearly if I was going to find a way out of this mess.

Looking around the room, I frowned. The shiny new wallpaper, the scent of freshly used paint, the modern furniture—none of it matched what I remembered of our pack house at Golden Moon territory. Alpha Gregory is known to be obsessed about luxury and opulence and loved to go for unique pieces and designs only him can own.... whatever this was.

"Lucas," I said, keeping my voice steady despite the emotions running haywire inside me. "This doesn’t look like Golden Moon pack."

He scratched the back of his head, his usual smug grin faltering slightly. "Did you really expect me to take you there?" He scoffed. "That would be stupid, Lily."

I folded my arms. “So where are we?”

“A town far away from both Golden Moon and Royal Hunters Pack,” he admitted casually as if that little detail was nothing. “Here nobody knows who we are.”

He hadn’t taken me to Golden Moon at all. We were somewhere else entirely—somewhere no one would think to look for me. My heart sank, but I refused to show it. Instead, I channeled my fear into anger.

"Oh, I get it now," I said, my lips curving into a mocking smile. "You’re scared that my sister might find out, aren’t you? The big, bad Lucas, afraid of Vanessa. She terrifies you, doesn’t she?”

His eyes flashed dangerously, and I knew I’d hit a nerve. Good.

"Aren’t you ashamed of yourself?" I continued, pushing harder. "For all your claims about being tough, you’re terrified of what my sister might do to you. Oh yeah, she might actually convince her father to strip the Alpha’s title away from you. Afterall, you do not deserve it. You’re not of Alpha descent and you know that.”

His expression darkened. He stalked toward me, and for a moment, I thought he might strike me. Instead, he grabbed my wrist and yanked me close.

“You should be grateful,” he growled.

“Grateful?” I scoffed, wrenching my arm from his grip. “For what? For you kidnapping me? For tying me p? You call this being nice.”

His lips curled in frustration and without another word, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a roll of duct tape.

I realized what he was about to do a second too late.

I twisted away, but he was faster. He grabbed me tighter...

I tried to back away, but there was nowhere to go. "Don’t you dare—"

"I can’t believe this is how you intend to pay me back after I’ve been so nice to you," he cut me off, his voice low and dangerous. "I gave you food, water, even removed your restraints, and this is how you repay me? By mocking me?"

"Nice to me?" I spat. "You kidnapped me!" I repeated

"You’re ungrateful," he said, his face inches from mine now. "And I’m tired of listening to you."

Before I could respond, he pressed the tape firmly over my mouth. I tried to scream, but I could only make muffled sounds. I clawed at the tape, but Lucas grabbed my wrists, pinning them at my sides.

"Much better," he said, his smile returning now that I was silenced. "You know, you’re much prettier when you’re not talking back."

I glared at him with all the hatred I could muster. If looks could kill, he would have dropped dead on the spot.

He grabbed me in the direction of the bedroom we had just come from. When we got there, he grabbed my shoulders and shoved me back onto the bed. I bounced slightly on the mattress, before I could recover, he was already heading for the door.

"Get some rest, princess," he said, his hand on the doorknob. "We’ve got a long journey ahead of us tomorrow."

Then, without another word, he stepped out and slammed the door shut.

I was alone.
