The award ceremony took place, Leo was presented with a three feet tall trophy for winning, and an equally big bottle of champagne. However, the young man only lifted it without popping the cork. Theo followed his example, and walked up to the third place and whispered something in his ear. The man nodded hurriedly and then they walked off the podium and headed to the reception hall of the stadium where the press meet took place.

The trio sat down in their chairs, and Leo removed all the energy drinks that were placed before him, and moved them towards Theo who smiled and said, "Yeah, I get money for endorsing them." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Leo chuckled and replied, "The secret of my energy is my family."

Then he looked at the media people and asked, "How are you all feeling today? Are you all good?"

The people replied, with a yes, and Leo said, "Well, at least one of us is having a good time, because I sure as am filled with a lot of negative energy right now."

The atmosphere quickly tensed up and Leo said, "Out there on the track today, we saw some people displaying their best, one of them is sitting right beside me, Toni, he fought hard from the sixth initial standing he rushed up to the third in the latter half of the race. He duked it out not once but thrice with his contemporaries."

Toni smiled faintly but he didn't say anything because his Crew Chief has told him to only talk when the media asked a question directly. This was all done by Nikki, who reached out to the teams who were also puzzled about the situation.

Leo went on and said, "Guys, I was taught to clap for the guy who does his best under situations like today."

The people felt the commanding tone and instinctively clapped their hands, and Leo continued, "After I leave here, I will be suing all the race officials that were stationed to monitor that the regulations were followed, because after the continuous mistakes or rather deliberate actions performed by some drivers made me feel scared for my life and for my colleagues on the track. However, even after repeated complaints these people didn't react or took any action.

When Jin made the first move to defend his position by pushing me to the inside I had raised a complaint because I was very close to the wall, and you all saw that, but he didn't stop, and on the second attempt, he crashed, almost dying. If this was a car issue than I want his team to be properly investigated. Similarly with Alfa and Winchester Teams. Their drivers also seemed to be experiencing trouble.

The police have already been informed and their paddocks are being sealed as we speak. This is not about who won or who lost, but about will we survive the race, if that is what this sport has come to then all the things that our predecessors did to ensure a higher degree of safety has been wasted and that is the biggest shame for this sport."

The reporters watched in silence, they knew that this time, the Racing Control Association was going to take a knife and things will be changed. Some of them as enthusiasts and loyal fans really wanted this to happen so that the sport can regain its old spark.

One of the reporters asked, "Theo, Toni, do you two also agree with this plan of action?"

Theo nodded and Toni replied, "I do, personally speaking, I feel that many people who sit in the offices try to play god in the sport and meddle too much with the sport. Take the 'Crash Gate' scandal, all of it was organized by a bunch of paper pushing people who only wanted to make money by staking the lives of the drivers. The sport took a big hit that time and the same is happening today, so yes, for the sake of the authenticity that this sport embodies, I agree with Leo."

Leo reached out to pat his back and Toni nodded to him. The former then looked at the reporters and said, "If you have anything else to ask, please go ahead. I was just really pissed off about the incidents and couldn't help but vent in front of you guys."

The people then began to ask some questions and the trio answered one by one, Toni and Theo even cracked some jokes and the mood lightened, towards the end of the meet, Leo asked, "Has any of you heard from the hospital? How is Jin doing?"

One reporter said, "He is fine, two fractured ribs and one hairline fracture in his right femur. He is going to recover in three weeks."

Leo sighed in relief and said, "As long as he is fine."

Then they stood up and left the place. While they moved through the small lobby, Toni asked, "Leo do you really think that the drivers acted deliberately today?"

Leo nodded and said, "The cars were checked right before the race, that is standard protocol, any red flags would mean they cannot race, so developing errors with the sensors is really impossible. It wasn't even raining. I mean if not deliberate, then how can this happen unless the teams used cheap tech, which we all know is not true."

Toni nodded and asked, "So what do you intend to do now?"

Leo shrugged and replied, "I have already escalated the issue to be handled legally, I am sure that a certain someone must be involved in this. While I am pissed at him, I am also grateful to him, this time the RCA will change and the sport will somewhat reignite the old spark."

Toni nodded and said, "I really hope it happens, I am sick tired of this politics that the companies play inside the paddock."

Leo nodded with a humm, after all, with a business that makes so much many, people trying to leverage things to get the maximum out of their investment was quite an understandable thing. But too much of it was dampening the spirits of the drivers. Some rookies even got washed out by the stress and demands put up by the companies that hire them.

...

Snow and Lily watched the situation inside the paddock and Nikki handled the affairs with the cops and gradually all the team principles came over to discuss. This included the team principals from Alfa and Winchester teams. They were all sitting inside a small conference room, and Nikki asked, "Tyler, Hammond, you two know what this is about. So, please don't force us to take drastic measures. If you have anything to say, come clean."

Tyler replied calmly and confidently, "Nikki, I swear on all my career, my team has no clue why this happened, you can handle the investigations, we will completely cooperate."

His statement was resonated by Hammond the team principal of the Winchester team, before Nikki turned to look at the man who sat in the corner and asked, "Donor, aren't you awfully quiet today? I recall you are usually the first one clamoring about such things."

Donor looked as if someone poked his tender wound and he said, "What do you mean? So what? Drivers are not machines, they can make mistakes, what are you and your team even trying to imply here?"

Nikki scoffed and said, "We all know what we are trying to imply, don't you think these mistakes happening just when my driver was about to make a move is a bit too coincidental? Also, your driver is laying in the hospital, yet here you looking all shady instead of concerned. Are you still the same person who rushed across the running track to check if your driver was okay ten years ago? The same guy who swore to draw blood if anyone from the 'Crash Gate' was ever allowed to step in our circle?"

Nikki's questions made the people recall the details from ten years ago. Donor had a big reputation and people looked up to him because he cared for his drivers more than anyone else. Just when Donor wanted to say something, Nikki spoke up, "Our cars were cleared in the first race, yet you and your team insisted on getting them evaluated over and over again. Not only did you try to get us held back but even shamed your own dignity by doing this. You think you can just walk away after doing all this? Since you still have no intention of repenting, let the world see what you have become."

Donor didn't say anything his expression just turned uglier with every word Nikki spoke.

...

Snow as on phone with Little Cherry and she said, "I don't care right now, Sister Cherry, I am giving you the full control. Use any method that you can to push four rings out of the market. Poach their senior executives or buy out their workforce if you have to, I want them to suffer loses so significant that they have no option but to sale. Acquire that company by hook or by crook. Oust that swine Henesi, and sabotage him at every end. This will only end when he is out their on the road, begging for money to eat."

The iron fist command was issued, someone tried to harm her husband, and she was not going to have it.
