Leo dashed over to the burning monocoque, he could see that Jin was disoriented and he could not get out from car, and by the time the marshalls manage to reach, Jin would be on fire. Leo was not worried about the position, he knew that with the yellow flag out, the race would slow down, and even if someone managed to pass him, it would not be hard for him to catch up to them.

Leo rushed over to the monocoque by passing through the debris, and quickly dismantled the steering wheel and undid the seat belts. Jin could see what was going on but he was unable to react fast. Thinking that he was under assault he tried to push Leo away, but the man put his arms under Jin's arm and then hoisted him out of the burning car.

Without wasting a second, Leo dragged Jin away from the debris and lay him on the gravel around fifty meters away. Just then, the damaged car burst into flames. The track marshals arrived quickly, they extinguished the flames and the medics turned over to check on Jin, and Leo asked, "Is he okay?"

He spoke loudly because the helmet muffled his voice, and the doctor replied, "Yeah, just some disorientation, we will take him to the hospital, good work man."

Leo shook his head and patted his shoulder and then he looked at Jin, whose helmet has been removed and said loudly, "You'll be fine, come on next time and we will duke it out fairly."

Then he stood up and rushed over to his car, got in and drove away slowly. He asked, "Liam, where is the safety car?"

...

While he was pushing through the track, the crowd was going bonkers with what they have just seen. The Henesi Team crew had ashen expressions, and the crew chief clenched his fists in frustration, and the media people swarmed in the back of the paddock.

While in the Cardinal Team Paddock, Nikki Saint was brainwashing the people, and Lily and Snow heaved a sigh of relief. Snow looked at Marco, who was coordinating everything and said, "Mister Marco, let then avoid this situation for now. After the race, Leo will handle them in the press meet. Also, make sure that everything we do is recorded and saved, release this to the world to see later."

Marco nodded, and then Snow called Fragrance, and after the call connected she told her to be ready to sue the Racing Control Association for dereliction and discrimination.

They moved fast and then Snow directed the PR head of the company to spread the word through the live streaming platform and build up momentum. Snow and Leo never spared the enemy and this time RCA stepping into the quagmire was their own doing, they brought this upon themselves.

Lily raised her head and looked at the monitor and said, "Baba is P2 again."

...

On the track, Leo reached P2 and then he pushed ahead. He said, "Liam, can you connect me to Theo?"

Liam replied, "Well, it is not allowed to do so."

Leo then said, "How about you tell him to compete with me for this position? He has worked hard for the points that he earned and he is a strong driver. Tell him to compete with me and not give up easily. The people didn't come here to watch us play together, they came here to watch a race, so let's respect that and give them a race."

Liam chuckled and replied, "I'd be happy to do that mate."

The message was passed on to Theo just in time when Leo caught up to him on the side as they were about to finish the lap. Leo turned to look at Theo, who nodded to him and as soon as they passed through the starting line, they began their own race. Leo would make a move on the outside to over take and Theo responded quickly.

He was keeping up but it was a close chase, they had similar cars, Leo had been holding back in his skills and gradually leading Theo to grow confident and get a grasp of his skills. The latter had been training regularly, and his skills were definitely sharp, it was just his own misplaced trust in his abilities that has been holding him back.

Leo wanted to correct this mindset because it was not about just one race, it was about the races in the next tournament. He knew that Theo would not find a team any better than his, and if it was just about the money, the company had enough. Another thing that the company had was the choice to replace Theo if he really wanted to leave and have an easy time in the car.

The defensive chase suddenly turned into an attacking drive. Leo smiled as he asked, "Liam, did Drogo scold Theo?"

Liam chuckled and said, "That's Drogo for you."

Theo charged and he began to try to enter every gap that Leo might show. However, that was not easy, Leo was almost toying with him. However, Theo was not a clown either, suddenly he did a fake right to move on the inside and then he made the move from the outside. He caught up to Leo and they were neck to neck, when Liam said, "Leo, box."

Leo turned to the pit lane and moved towards the pit lane and Theo followed.

...

Tom Jones sitting in the commentary box said, "Oh, this is the double pit from the Cardinal team. With the safety car still out, this is the best strategy. They are the first to pit and it is definitely going to be a huge advantage."

Mikhail Hakanin said, "Only if they manage to finish this before the safety car catches up to them."

As he spoke the safety car was moving ahead with the pack of cars behind it. If it managed to move quickly, Leo would have to fight the pack, and so would Theo.

...

The Pit Crew was ready and waiting for Leo to come in, when Lily said, "Do your best and stop thinking about anything. You have trained for thousands of times, and your bodies will take care of everything on it's own. Don't think just do."

Although her voice was soft, the people still heard it, the next moment Leo parked over, he turned to look to the side and spotted Lily and waved at her. It took just two seconds and the pit stop was done. Leo dashed out, and Theo followed up.

Within five seconds, both the cars have been given a fresh set of tyres and fuel. Leo and Theo had to maintain a slow speed till they crossed the pit lane and the former could see the safety car catching up to him from the side, as soon as he exited the pit lane, he pedalled the metal and shot through.

Theo did the same, but the race between the two of them was a forgone closure. Leo moved through the track, this time he was driving like a man possessed, he stopped caring about who was following him or how was the person going to catch up to him. He had his own racing line, and he had himself as the competition.

Yes, he was competing with the ghost of his own performance inside the virtual realm. His speed and performance increased, and reached the level it was when they were sprinting. The people keeping tabs on his performance were shocked.

In the field of racing it was not easy to do the best all the time. Leo was operating with an almost mechanical precision. However, he knew that if he kept this up, some people would definitely raise objections and waste time, suddenly while making a turn, he locked up the brakes.

Although he recovered, Theo lowered the time gap between them from seven to five. Liam asked, "Leo, you okay?"

Leo replied, "Perfect, was getting too eager on the pedal."

The race had a forgone closure, everyone knew that Leo was going to win now that he was standing at the pole position and that too with a gap of ten seconds by the time the race came to an end.

He slowed down to make sure that the first and second didn't have much gap between them. Leo asked, "Liam, how is Theo doing?"

Liam replied after a few moments, "He is fine, appears to be catching up. Five seconds."

Leo stopped slowing down and dashed through the finish line. He raised his fist and waved it at the cheering crowd. Theo caught up to him, and Leo gave him a thumbs up. They moved the cars to the pit lane after and the crew cheered for them. However, the moment Leo got out of the vehicle and took off his helmet, the camera focused on him and he looked at Marco and asked, "How is Jin doing?"

The people were surprised for a second, this man just won his first professional grand prix and he is asking about the rival who tried to rear end him. Marco said, "I need to ask someone."

Leo nodded, and then he spotted his daughter, who was poking her head from the crowd. He bent down and picked her up as he said, "Well Darling, your good wish came handy this time."

Lily chuckled and said, "I thought it was your skill. Hehe, I knew I can bless people."

The duo chuckled, and Theo came in to join them.
