All My Superpowers Come from the Law of Causality-Chapter 95: Black Robe Is Our Greatest Asset
Mr. Mei was silent for a moment.
Cheng Jingjiang continued, "This organization is not simple. The formidable mobility of Black Robe, coupled with unknown powerful intelligence channels, and the magical assassination methods just demonstrated, make it very difficult to deal with."
"Judging from Black Robe’s previous actions, he harbors significant hostility towards us, and this time it’s clear he’s ready to strike at Kangbo Company. With our current capabilities... it’s hard to handle."
"Therefore, Mr. Mei, I would like to request support from the headquarters."
Mr. Mei on the other end of the phone said gravely, "I will arrange for support to arrive by tomorrow. Stay safe these next couple of days and report any issues immediately."
"Alright..."
Hearing that support from headquarters would arrive tomorrow, Cheng Jingjiang’s expression relaxed a bit. Just as he was about to say something, a gunshot suddenly rang from outside the door.
"Bang!"
The gunshot came from outside the door, sounding somewhat muffled through the thick door of the study.
But inside the room, Cheng Jingjiang let out a muffled groan under the sudden intense pain.
His right arm had been shot.
Before he could respond.
Three more gunshots rang out in succession.
His left arm, left thigh, and right thigh were also hit, leaving him slumped weakly in the office chair, his phone slipping from his hand onto the soft dark red carpet.
Sweating profusely from the pain, Cheng Jingjiang gritted his teeth, struggling to reach his wounded right hand to retrieve his gun from the drawer.
Mr. Mei faintly heard the gunshots too and quickly asked, "What happened? Was that gunfire?"
At this point.
Several more gunshots were heard.
The door of the study was pierced with several holes, splintered wood shards shooting into the room.
Immediately followed by a heavy kicking sound at the door.
The already precarious lock was forcibly broken by the strong force, and the door swung open.
Black Robe’s figure abruptly appeared in the middle of the study.
Cheng Jingjiang’s face changed:
"Black Robe?!"
Mr. Mei on the other end of the phone heard this and immediately spoke, "Black Robe, who exactly are you? Why are you against us?"
Su Xin glanced at Cheng Jingjiang.
Relying on the information obtained through Other-Transformation Superpower, he still had a basic understanding of Cheng Jingjiang. Seeing him now, slumped in the chair and having lost his ability to resist, he wasn’t in a hurry to interrogate. He walked forward, picked up the phone from the floor, brought it to his mouth, and asked indifferently:
"Who are you?"
"I represent Yonghui Financial Group."
"Can’t even say your name or identity? A timid coward, not worthy to speak with me. Since you’ve chosen to be my enemy, then you are my enemies. I’ll be waiting for you to come again."
With that, he casually hung up the phone.
Then he looked at Cheng Jingjiang.
The latter, upon seeing Su Xin, completely gave up any thought of retaliation, just sitting limp on the chair, enduring the severe pain, cold sweat pouring down, but remaining silent.
Su Xin looked at him indifferently:
"Cheng Jingjiang, tell me what you know about Yonghui Financial Group. If I’m satisfied, I might spare your life."
Cheng Jingjiang forced a weak smile on his pale face and said with difficulty:
"I don’t know."
Upon hearing this response, Su Xin said nothing further, performed an Instant Teleportation Withdrawal, returned outside the door, and shot himself in the forehead.
Cheng Jingjiang was subsequently killed in the study.
And Su Xin, after a few instances of Instant Teleportation, arrived at one of his long-term anchor points, retrieved a pen he had placed there earlier, and quietly waited for the Other-Transformation Superpower to trigger again.
Since the activation of the Other-Transformation Superpower was passive, and the Tracking effect only lasted for half an hour, triggering it consecutively allowed him to ensure that he found everyone.
In the next hour.
Su Xin used his Other-Transformation Superpower to locate all the executives of Kangbo Biotechnology Company.
These people either had a strong backbone or didn’t have deep knowledge of Yonghui Financial Group, in any case, they didn’t provide Su Xin with any useful information.
But Su Xin didn’t mind.
If he found something, it was best; if not, it was no big deal. He simply killed all these executives cleanly.
That night, the sound of sirens was unceasing.
...
On the other side of White Mountain Star.
In a luxurious office, Mr. Mei sat in the leather boss chair, his face gloomy.
He had already received the news that several executives of the branch office had all been killed, and was shocked by the intelligence possessed by Black Robe.
After all, by the time the second executive was killed, the others had already found separate places to hide, some with several armed bodyguards, others alone for fear of being tracked, and some hid in signal-jammed basements.
But these individuals were all killed anyway, without exception.
In this process, Black Robe or Black Robe’s faction demonstrated, besides possessing Black Robe’s own ability of Instant Teleportation, exceptional intelligence and assassination skills.
No matter how they hid, they couldn’t evade the pursuit.
And the magical ability to kill from a distance.
This made Mr. Mei feel that, regardless of the scale of their organization, the level of trouble posed by the opposite party could perhaps rival Nirvana Association.
As Mr. Mei was deep in thought, the secretary came in to report:
"Mr. Mei, the meeting time is approaching, and everyone you asked to notify has arrived."
"Good!"
Mr. Mei got up and left the office, led by the secretary to outside of a meeting room.
As the secretary pushed open the door.
Several people in the meeting room turned their heads simultaneously, looking at Mr. Mei with solemn faces.
Mr. Mei walked straight to the head seat and sat down.
The secretary followed closely, carefully closing and locking the meeting room door, then taking a seat behind and to the side of Mr. Mei.
"Secretary Ma, hand them out."
"Alright."
Secretary Ma stood up, opened the folder he had been holding all along, took out sheets of documents, and distributed them to the seven attendees.
Everyone picked up the documents and started reading.
Soon, the expressions on the faces of the seven gradually changed.
Mr. Mei spoke plainly, "Regarding the matter of Black Robe, let’s hear everyone’s opinions."
Someone immediately spoke up:
"Black Robe’s abilities are extremely useful to us. My opinion is to continue investigating his true identity, and avoid rash actions against Black Robe. Otherwise, if he gets spooked and hides, our chances of capturing him become even slimmer."
"As for him killing our people, it’s nothing significant anyway—they were just irrelevant small fry. To continue clashing with Black Robe over them is not worth it."
"The interests of the headquarters are what’s paramount."
"And for us, Black Robe represents the greatest interest; nothing else compares to Black Robe himself."
"As long as Black Robe doesn’t directly attack headquarters and his actions do not severely impact the headquarters’ interests, there’s no need to concern ourselves."
Another person added:
"I share the same sentiment."
"Black Robe’s high mobility as a Superpower User makes it nearly impossible for us to forcibly capture him, so we must find ways to expose more about him, investigate his true identity."
"Since Black Robe has already actively provoked us, we might as well act timid, concede, give in, or tacitly allow all his actions. Seeing us retreat, he will certainly become more and more arrogant."
"The more arrogant he becomes, the bolder his actions, and the less careful he will be about concealing his identity, thereby increasing our chances of uncovering his true identity."
