Chapter 174: Chapter 52: What Happened to the... Righteous Hero?

Commercial street.

Luxury clothing store.

Outside the fitting room.

"It lacks a certain... feeling," Yasiraqi pinched her chin with her slender hand, sizing up Eden who had just walked out of the fitting room, and then picked up a black evening gown that a maid was holding nearby.

"Try this one on," she said as she handed the black gown to Eden, then lightly pushed her back into the fitting room.

With the sound of the door closing, the suggestive noise of undressing could be heard.

"Miss Eden, you’re not a simple person, are you?" Yasiraqi leaned against the wall with her arms crossed, accentuating her shapely bust.

She said with a smile:

"You seem to be rather unconcerned about the existence of your father."

"Perhaps... it’s just that I have a better mindset," came Eden’s calm voice from inside the fitting room, her emotions difficult to discern.

She had lived through years beyond most people’s imagination, even longer than many deities, and witnessed the historical changes of this world.

Therefore, there were very few things that could affect her mentality.

"Mentality often relates to the social status one occupies," Yasiraqi said with a light chuckle, then shook her head, "But if Miss Eden does not wish to discuss her past, I won’t insist."

Though she was curious about Eden’s identity, since Eden did not want to reveal it, she would not press the issue.

After all, prying too much into someone’s secrets was extremely impolite.

And in that moment.

"Why not talk about my past instead?" A playful voice came with the sound of heavy footsteps.

Turning at the sound, Yasiraqi saw a handsome man with brown short hair dressed in a white fur coat and gems of various colors adorning the fingers of both hands coming toward her.

He had his hands in his pockets and greeted her with a careless smile.

"What a coincidence, Princess Yasiraqi."

"Interrupting a lady’s conversation," Yasiraqi frowned with displeasure, her red eyes conveying disdain, "Yimar, you are indeed a very uninteresting man." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"For a dragon, power is everything," Yimar said as he vainly ran his gem-laden fingers through his fringe, revealing a malicious smile.

"Soon you will come to understand this, after your father dies."

"Are you threatening me?" Yasiraqi stood her ground, her cold gaze fixed on the humanoid dragon in front of her, "Should I interpret this as you declaring war on Sky City?"

The man before her was one of the twelve Princes of the Dragon Kingdom, sent to monitor Sky City, and as soon as her father, Siegfried, fully degenerated into a dragon, he would command the hidden dragons in Sky City to bring it down.

Therefore, she had no warm feelings for Yimar.

"Hahaha... I like that indomitable look in your eyes," Yimar said, lowering his hand from his fringe and asking with interest, "Your confidence right now isn’t due to Ahtal, is it?"

He leaned forward slightly with his hands in his pockets.

"That man might not live longer than your father."

"At least he will live longer than you," Yasiraqi responded coldly, and upon seeing this, Yimar laughed, turned his back to Yasiraqi, and waved his gem-laden hand.

"If you’re willing to strip naked and kneel by my bed and beg, perhaps I might spare Sky City, letting you continue to be its princess." With that, he left the clothing store.

Whether or not to destroy Sky City was not of great concern to him, however, the thought of seeing Yasiraqi with a visage of sorrow and despair, naked and kneeling before him, pleading for Sky City’s safety.

That might soften his heart a little bit.

After getting bored with playing with Yasiraqi, then he would bring down Sky City, relishing the sight of her eyes filled with utter despair and rage.

The anticipation was tantalizing...

And at that moment.

The fitting room door opened and Eden walked out. She glanced in the direction Yimar had left, her cool eyes reflecting contemplation.

"Don’t mind that guy, he’s just a person with a nasty sense of humor," Yasiraqi explained, "He likes to see the light in people’s eyes as they fall into ruin."

"Truly a vile dragon," Eden said with downcast eyes, disgust for Yimar’s perverse pleasure evident. She was actually aware of his evil hobby; he liked to descend in the guise of a malevolent dragon, oppressing those with a sense of justice to the point of utter despair, taking pleasure in witnessing their breakdown.

The more hateful the enemy’s gaze, the more excited Yimar became, intensifying his maltreatment.

"He’s no better than a goblin," Yasiraqi commented as she brushed her hair behind her ear, though her expression was troubled.

As Yimar had said, the situation in Sky City was very grave indeed, and once her father became a malevolent dragon, the lurking dragons would strike.

But for the moment, she had no good solution.

Despite her strong heart, her Talent was ultimately limited. She could not exhibit dominance like her father Siegfried, nor did she possess Ahtal’s exceptional and brilliant Talent.

Most of the time, she was very passive.

...

...

At night.

Xi Mu walked step by step down the dark corridor, his orderly footsteps spreading and blending into the dark cells on either side. Hostile eyes fell upon him from the darkness, as if numerous hidden beasts were ready at any moment to swarm and tear him apart.

Until he reached the end of the corridor, where light flooded into his eyes, he saw Jed with a hand on her hip, waving at him.

"Boss, the sacrifices you ordered are all here," she said, turning to point at the hundred death-row inmates behind her, then her expression became troubled.
