After work, start to speedrun the other world-Chapter 113 - 22: Coward_3
"So you’re the Hero that the bards have been singing about lately, right?"
"...You’re... so annoying," Xi Mu said indifferently, "Killing you would be a waste of time."
The annoying thing about this boss was... how cowardly it was, using all sorts of methods to protect its own safety, hiding among its guards, clad in specially crafted armor.
And once at a disadvantage, it would not hesitate to flee.
"Hahahaha... Human, do you think you can kill me?" Hald laughed in anger, the human’s calm assurance of being able to kill him made him feel belittled, as if he was just some knight with a bit of a reputation.
"You’re just lucky, that’s all the fame you have!" he shouted, his fingers moving, invisible threads slashing toward Xi Mu.
But they were intercepted by the shield soldiers who hurried over.
"Wait, we can talk." Hald’s tone immediately softened, not wanting to continue the fight.
"What do you want?"
"..." Xi Mu did not answer, gripping his sword he pursued, and seeing this, Hald did not hesitate to turn and run.
But after running a few steps, he saw Xi Mu mounted on the eight-legged horse, blocking the path of his escape.
There’s no escape.
"Why must you force me, why must you force me?" Hald stepped back in fear, his expression quickly turning ferocious.
"Manifest to me!" he chanted the Spell, his armor fell away automatically, and arms sprouted from his back.
If his ability allowed each finger to control a thread, then with eight arms, that meant forty threads.
Compared to the ten threads before, this was a qualitative leap.
"Go to hell!" the fingers of the eight arms moved, nearly invisible threads flashing in all directions.
Walls, houses, passersby, in that instant became shattered fragments, but this was not the end.
Hald’s fingers on his eight arms moved frantically as if playing a piano, erratic threads cut wildly around him.
Anything or anyone getting close to him would be sliced into pieces by his threads.
This ensured his safety and guaranteed offensive capability, rendering him virtually flawless. To harm him, one would need to get close, but the unpredictable movement of the threads could shred any enemy that dared to approach.
All he had to do was maintain this frequency of attack and then rapidly close in on that damned Knight.
"You really are stupid," a cold voice suddenly drifted over, as Xi Mu appeared on a house rooftop in the distance, mounted on his horse.
"Hahaha, then do you dare to come closer!" Hald laughed out loud, "If you don’t stop me, I will charge into the city and go on a killing spree,"
His smile was evil. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Hero, you wouldn’t want to involve the innocent, would you?"
"..." Xi Mu’s expression was impassive, he gauged the direction of the wind, then took out the Sleeping Pot and hurled it forcefully toward Hald.
"Useless!" Hald scoffed in disdain, using the thin threads to slash the Sleeping Pot apart, only to then feel... sleepiness.
Thud, Hald collapsed unconscious.
"That’s why I said you’re stupid," Xi Mu said coldly, drawing the meteor bow, and with one arrow, he took Hald’s life.
For bosses like Hald, who recklessly use abilities without the ability to move quickly, once you find the right tactic, you can kill them.
A regular mercenary seeing him throw the Sleeping Pot would definitely not react by smashing it, but by getting out of the way.
But Hald’s first reaction was to slice it up, and then he foolishly stood in place, simply a boss without much combat experience, relying solely on his ability to survive.
If only Hald’s mechanics were replaced with those of a seasoned mercenary, he would have become an extremely challenging boss.
But Hald was too cowardly, and his combat experience was truly lacking.
For a sufficiently seasoned player, Hald’s troublesome part was only in how to get close, and in ensuring that Hald couldn’t escape.
