After work, start to speedrun the other world-Chapter 102 - 16: Riding the Little Mare_2
"Sorry, there used to be too many churches in the city," the Ghostly Queen, feeling guilty, apologized with her head lowered. In the past, to demonstrate her devotion to the Creation Witch, she had established churches throughout the city to facilitate prayer for all her citizens.
This also meant that it was difficult for her to destroy all the idols quickly since the idols were spread throughout the city, meaning they’d have to traverse the entire city.
"If things continue this way, we’ll inevitably clash with them," Jed said with distress.
Xi Mu helplessly shook his head.
"This is probably a test from the All Gods."
Ghostly Queen:
"Can’t you gather your people to destroy the idols together?" Jed suggested, but he saw the Ghostly Queen shake her head; she was resistant to mobilizing all her citizens to destroy the idols.
Seeing this, Xi Mu explained:
"If the Ghostly Queen calls everyone to destroy the idols, someone will surely stand up and stop it, wouldn’t that indirectly inform the All Gods that there are still people unwilling to repent?"
Jed nodded and said, "Boss, you do have a point."
"We can only smash all the idols while hiding our tracks," Xi Mu said, shaking his head as he laid out the next steps of their plan.
He then looked down at the Bunny Girl struggling in his arms.
"As for you... I’m sorry, we can’t reveal our location." After saying this, he then grasped the Bunny Girl’s neck, slowly applying pressure.
"Wait, don’t kill me!" the Bunny Girl pleaded in terror, her face streaming with tears and snot, "I have a daughter and a wife to support, I can’t die here!"
She tried to pry Xi Mu’s hands off her neck.
"Please, don’t kill me, I surely won’t reveal the secret."
"..."
Xi Mu hesitated, seemingly making a decision.
But Jed was decisive, his dagger pointed at the Bunny Girl’s neck, his expression exceptionally cold, "Boss, you can’t trust mercenaries."
She was certain.
"Just let him leave and he will undoubtedly bring companions to encircle and kill the boss later, might as well kill and silence him now."
"This... isn’t like you." Xi Mu seemed surprised as he spoke, while Jed just rolled her eyes.
She placed one hand on her hip.
"Boss, have you forgotten I was also a mercenary before? Aside from being loyal to my employer, I’m hardly a good person."
Having grown up from the lowest strata of society, she had developed a personality that was anything but tender-hearted. To ensure her own safety, the idea of eliminating potential threats was something she never hesitated over.
She had never felt it was wrong.
If it were not for the formidable strength of the Ghostly Queen, and the boss’s current weakened state, she would not have cooperatively agreed to destroying the idols.
Instead, she would have suggested killing the Ghostly Queen straightaway.
"Wait... don’t do that; I truly won’t leak the secret!" The Bunny Girl grew even more terrified, pleading with the Knight.
But as Jed had said, if he could survive, he would seek out companions instead of keeping the secret.
Xi Mu pondered for a moment, then said, "Knock her out and tie her up."
"...That works." Jed nodded, not insisting that Xi Mu personally strangle the Bunny Girl, considering her appealing figure and appearance, it was understandable to not want to kill her outright.
What can you do, he’s a man after all.
"Don’t ever reveal our secret, and don’t tell anyone that we have a meteorite, alright?" Xi Mu whispered into the Bunny Girl’s ear.
"Otherwise, next time we meet, I will definitely kill you."
"I... promise!" The Bunny Girl immediately assured, then felt a pain in her neck, and as her vision faded, she collapsed to the ground.
"I’ll take it from here, I’m good at tying people up," Jed came over, picked up the Bunny Girl, and carried her towards a corner of the church.
After moving out of Xi Mu’s sight, she put the Bunny Girl down on the ground, her gaze cold as she took out a dagger, looking at the Bunny Girl’s fair neck.
After hesitating, she put away her dagger and simply tied up the Bunny Girl, dumping her in the basement of a dilapidated house.
...
...
Some time later.
A group of orc mercenaries arrived at the dilapidated house and rescued the Bunny Girl locked in the basement, after feeding her a Magic Potion.
The Bunny Girl slowly came to and looked around at the familiar faces of her companions, taking a breath of relief, then her gaze settled on the werewolf leader.
"I know where the meteorite is."
"Where?" the werewolf leader crouched down, patting Bunny Girl’s shoulder, "You’re alright, that’s really great."
Bunny Girl fell silent for a moment after hearing this and then shook her head, "Chief, the group that took the meteorite has been smashing statues around the city; it seems they are performing some ritual."
She declared so.
"As long as we find a church with an intact statue and lie in wait, we can definitely find them."
"Understood." the werewolf leader nodded and then stood up to speak to the beastmen, "Move out, find a church where the statue is unharmed."
Having said this, he left with the beastmen to search for a church that was still in perfect condition.
...
...
Half an hour later.
"Snap." the head of the statue fell to the ground, and the Ghostly Queen put down her greatsword and then looked around.
The church was now completely surrounded by numerous beastmen and humans.
"Even if it’s a Witch’s statue, ordinary people wouldn’t dare to destroy it." the werewolf leader stepped forward, looking at the three people beneath the statue.
He pulled out the greatsword behind him.
"Hand over the meteorite, and we will let you leave unharmed."
"Knew it would come to this," Jed complained, immediately drawing his dagger, positioning himself for battle.
Xi Mu glanced at Bunny Girl, saying, "You did leak the information, after all."
Bunny Girl lowered her head, she obviously couldn’t keep her promise; it was just a lie to save her own life.
If she really had to survive, she would definitely call her companions to group up and kill.
"To survive, a little lying is unavoidable," the werewolf leader laughed heartily, explaining to the armored knight, "Just hand over the meteorite, and I guarantee you can leave the dungeon alive, and you’ll get a share of the income from selling the meteorite afterward."
"Do you think I would still believe you?" Xi Mu’s gaze was icy cold, his palm grazing over the Hunting King’s Greatsword, black flames wrapping around the blade.
"The likelihood of our survival is not great, but I don’t want to experience deception again."
Werewolf Leader: "..."
He was telling the truth since the knight hadn’t killed his companion; in return, he wouldn’t kill them either.
If handed over the meteorite, they truly would be compensated afterward.
"If you don’t trust him, how about trusting me?" the knight holding twin guns stepped forward, his smile bright, "After all, we’re both knights."
"Can you not act so confident?" a man with green hair, an iron ring on his face, and an inherently annoying demeanor stepped forward.
He had his hands in his pockets, smiling provocatively.
"Handing over the meteorite to me is the safest," he declared.
The atmosphere instantly became tense.
Xi Mu’s gaze grew colder, and then he heard a dull sound of hooves behind him.
Turning his head, he saw a little mare appear beside him.
"Why... are you here?" Xi Mu asked in surprise, as the little mare proudly raised her head, snorting lightly.
It was as if she was saying, "Don’t be afraid, I’m here."
"Ah... So you want to fight alongside me?" Xi Mu realized, showing a relieved smile, "But it’s likely we’ll die, you know."
The little mare looked even more disdainful.
These people, how could they possibly kill her, given that she was a top-tier monster personally created by the Monster Witch.
But she quickly froze.
Turning her head, she saw the armored knight riding on her back, their gazes merging into one line.
"Partner, if we survive this time," Xi Mu reached out to touch the little mare’s face, his smile gentle, "I’ll play you another tune, how about that?"
Oh well, let this human ride.
The little mare averted her gaze, shifting her focus to the nearby Bunny Girl; she powerfully stomped her eight legs against the ground, propelling herself forward like a bolt of lightning.
Next, she kicked Bunny Girl’s head with her hoof, the terrifying impact instantly causing Bunny Girl’s head to burst open like a watermelon.
Xi Mu also seized this opportunity to swing the Hunting King’s Greatsword in his hand, instantly chopping off the heads of several mercenaries around him.
