Chapter 44: Chapter 44: Don’t Want to Answer

On the desk, the internal line phone rang, and he reached out to press speaker.

"You have a dinner appointment with Mr. Anderson at the Kailai Hotel at 8 o’clock tonight. I’ve already instructed the driver to wait downstairs!" Ailin’s voice came through.

"Understood!" Leng Zimo hung up the phone and rose to his full height.

Glancing at his watch to confirm there was still time, he went into the office bedroom to take a shower and change his clothes before he went downstairs and got into the car waiting below.

"Shall we go straight there?" the driver asked respectfully.

Leng Zimo glanced at the watch on his wrist. "Go to EM first!"

Originally he had wanted to let her experience some setbacks, but now, he had suddenly changed his mind.

He was very curious to know what gave that girl the guts to dare not answer his calls!

EM Record Company.

Ninth floor, rehearsal room.

"Very good!" The dance instructor, Tong Ya, clapped her hands. "That’s all for today. Everyone, see you tomorrow!"

"Thank you, teacher!" Everyone thanked her in unison, bid farewell, and then dispersed to collect their clothes and luggage.

"Xiao Qian!" Xu Xia quickly walked up to Luo Xiaoqian. "Let’s go eat something!"

"I’m not hungry!" Luo Xiaoqian gave her a smile. "You go ahead. I want to practice a little longer!"

She wasn’t worried about the vocal lessons; dance, however, was decidedly her weakness.

With only ten days left until the re-competition, the only way to do her best in such a short time was to practice enormously, as there were no shortcuts.

Luo Xiaoqian’s character was such that if she did not want to do something she wouldn’t, but if she did, she would do it to the best of her ability. Since there was nothing much to do at home anyway, she might as well stay longer and practice.

"Alright then, don’t overdo it, you still have class tomorrow!" Xu Xia knew her temperament well and didn’t persuade her further, simply reminding her before leaving with her backpack.

As the classmates left one after another, Luo Xiaoqian took out a towel from her bag to wipe the sweat from her forehead, drank some water, and then stood up to practice in front of the mirror once again.

In the evening, the teacher had taught several new movements which were somewhat difficult for Luo Xiaoqian, who had absolutely no foundation.

The door to the rehearsal room was pushed open, but she didn’t notice.

Through the half-open door, observing the silhouette that was bending and stretching in the rehearsal room, Leng Zimo frowned slightly.

He had clearly stated that he would make her a star, yet she was still working so hard?

But seriously, the dance she was doing left much to be desired.

"Stop!"

Watching her stiff movements and steps that were out of rhythm, he couldn’t help but bark out.

Luo Xiaoqian was startled, her footsteps tangled, and she stumbled, heading straight for the ground.

"Idiot!"

Hastily taking two steps, he caught her by the waist and cursed softly.

Luo Xiaoqian wanted to say thanks, but upon hearing the curse above her head, she somehow became enraged and straightened up from his embrace, "Not everyone is born knowing how to dance. If you’re so smart, show me how it’s done!"

Leng Zimo’s pupils contracted, and his gaze turned several degrees colder in an instant.

"Why didn’t you answer the phone?"

"I didn’t want to!" Luo Xiaoqian replied irritably.

She wasn’t his servant after all. If it hadn’t been for his phone call, she wouldn’t have been punished by Tong Ya to stand aside, nor would she have wasted her practice time.

No sooner had her words fallen than her jaw tightened, and she was pressed against the cold mirror.

Leng Zimo’s fingers, like pincers, tightly gripped her chin.

His face, closed in on hers.
