After Rebirth: The Alpha Ex-Husband Is Addicted to Me-Chapter 202: I’m Pregnant (Part 6)
Never before had he been so negligent during work hours.
But he didn’t feel like he was wasting time at all.
Starting from his first meeting with Lucy Eaton, Jacob Green sketched quickly, drawing twenty-five scenes of the two interacting within two hours.
He even included their conversations.
"Knock knock, Mr. Green, it’s time for the meeting."
Jacob Green put down his drawing pen, "You don’t need to join me in the meeting room to take notes later. I need you to do something for me."
"What is it?"
He stood up and pointed at the computer, "Print this out and make it into a booklet for me. It must be exquisite. I want it before you get off work."
The secretary glanced at the computer screen and couldn’t help but smile, "Mr. Green, did you draw yourself and Mrs. Green?"
"Yes."
"It’s so lifelike. Mrs. Green looks so cute when she’s angry."
Jacob Green pursed his lips, "Stop dawdling, get on with it."
The secretary stifled her smile, nodded in acknowledgment, "Yes."
——
At 5:30, Lucy Eaton was driving home from work. As she drove through the traffic light, without any warning, a sharp knife was pressed against her neck.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she looked into the rearview mirror. The man holding the knife wasn’t masked; he had local features and looked about thirty years old.
"What do you want?!"
"Pull over to the roadside, quickly, or I’ll take your life with one slash!"
As soon as the red light turned green, Lucy Eaton pulled over to the roadside not far ahead.
As soon as the car stopped, a fragrant scent rushed into her nostrils, and she immediately lost consciousness, fainting.
This faint lasted for several hours. When she woke up again, she was already in a completely unfamiliar environment.
There was no need to discern; it was obvious at a glance that this was a basement.
A glaring light shone above her, the walls were stained with patches of blood, and the air smelled strange and unpleasant.
Her hands and feet were shackled with thick iron chains. Lucy Eaton tried to break free, but it was futile.
She wasn’t sure who had taken her hostage, but a few candidates came to mind.
Whichever candidate it was, she was destined to suffer this time.
Just as she was thinking that, a door high up on the stairs suddenly opened with a creaking sound.
Lucy Eaton looked up to see Arthur Bennett descending casually with his subordinates.
He wore a smug smile on his face.
"We meet again."
"Your Highness is truly reckless, tying me up here. Do you really think only heaven and earth and we know about this?"
"Of course." He was full of confidence, "No one will know you’re here."
"It’s the era of high technology now, Your Highness might be a bit too confident."
Arthur Bennett’s footsteps halted in front of her, "You’re still daring to speak to me in this tone here? Are you really that tired of living?!"
"I’m always like this, if I don’t talk to you this way, how should I? Plead to you bitterly? Sob and beg for mercy?" she questioned.
Arthur Bennett reached out and yanked her hair back, forcing Lucy Eaton to look up. The sensation of her scalp being pulled caused her to furrow her brows tightly.
"Lucy Eaton, since you’re in my hands, I’ll make sure you understand the price of your arrogance." His eyes were cold and merciless, with a cruel smile, as if a knife was already poised to stab her.
"Your Highness, are you aware that very few people are hostile towards me?"
"Do I need to know?"
"I’m reminding you. My husband would guess who kidnapped me." Despite feeling anxious herself, Lucy Eaton didn’t know what this highness intended to do, but she forced herself not to panic and maintain her composure. "Your Highness, you may be the future president, but you’re not yet. Before doing something, think it over. Don’t commit an irreparable mistake."
Arthur Bennett’s grip tightened abruptly, "You think I haven’t thought about anything? Even if Jacob Green guesses you’re in my hands, so what? Does he have any evidence? No matter how powerful, he’s just a businessman. Can he even rebel? As for you, since I’ve captured you, I never planned to let you go."
Just the thought of her having evidence of his secret dealings with Stellan Quinn made him panic. That was a stain he had to erase.
And Lucy Eaton, the restless instigator, absolutely couldn’t be allowed to cause trouble.
So he had secretly managed to bring Lucy Eaton here, without his father’s knowledge. He wanted this woman to witness his power.
Lucy Eaton’s eyes were coated in a layer of ice, "What do you want to do?"
"You’ll find out soon enough." With that, Arthur Bennett released her hair and instructed his subordinates behind him, "Hang her up for me."
Lucy Eaton’s heart involuntarily tightened. The iron chain around her feet was removed, one chain on her arm was first hooked onto a ceiling hook, and then the other chain was loosened and hung up.
Arthur Bennett leisurely sat in a chair, three meters away from Lucy Eaton.
He took out a gun, "Lucy Eaton, I haven’t practiced my shooting recently. Today, you’ll be my target."
Lucy’s lips were bloodless, her heart pounded wildly. The tension made her extremely restless, recalling a past life when Grace Hughes pointed a gun at her, rendered her equally powerless to retaliate.
"Let’s test the gun first." His hand pointed forward, aiming the gun at Lucy Eaton’s leg. As his finger bent, Lucy Eaton clenched her legs and kicked sideways, the bullet missed.
"Ha..." Arthur Bennett squinted, "I don’t believe you can dodge every time."
Lucy indeed couldn’t dodge every time. That dodge was sheer luck. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
When Arthur Bennett’s bullet pierced her thigh, his two subordinates immediately clapped and cheered, "Brilliant, Your Highness!"
Lucy Eaton felt excruciating pain; a thin sheen of sweat formed on her forehead, her mind a tangled mess, her throat letting out a grunt of pain.
And this was merely the beginning.
Arthur Bennett seemed intent on crippling her legs, firing thirteen bullets into them.
Blood quickly flowed down her legs, staining the ground beneath her feet red. She had fainted from the pain, unconscious.
"Your Highness, should we call a doctor for her?" one subordinate couldn’t help but ask.
The other subordinate immediately retorted, "Are you stupid? This woman deserves to be taught a lesson. His Highness showed mercy by not killing her outright."
Arthur Bennett commanded, "Remove the bullets."
"Your Highness won’t kill her? To prevent her from stirring up trouble again."
"Stirring up trouble, I won’t give her the chance." Arthur Bennett continued to order, "Poison her to death, then throw her into the sea to feed the fish. I want this Mrs. Eaton to vanish from this world completely. No trace in life, no corpse in death. Those looking for her will be frantic."
"Yes."
Without anesthesia, his subordinates removed the bullets from her legs one by one.
