Chapter 916: Chapter 917: I’m Not Even 100 Pounds Yet

The two of them entered the house, and they hadn’t noticed Jiang Changhai standing behind them, playfully tapping the kids on the head, snapping them back to attention.

"Uncle, Auntie, you’re here," Zhiwen and Zhiwu were very pleased to see Jiang Changhai.

"Uncle, Auntie," Laidi called out softly.

"Unc-unc-Unc-uncle," Yuanbin stammered out.

"Hmm, why are only you kids watching TV? Where’s my daughter?" Jiang Changhai didn’t see Jiang Mianmian in the main room, so he asked the kids.

Zhiwu pointed to the main room and said, "Mianmian is inside, reading."

"Alright, you guys continue watching," said Jiang Changhai, and then they both went straight into the main room.

"Dad, Mom, you’re here, I’ve missed you," Jiang Mianmian was so happy to see her parents that she pounced on them.

"Oh dear, my big girl, you’re too heavy now. Dad can’t lift you anymore," Jiang Changhai said, struggling as he picked up Jiang Mianmian and quickly put her on the bed after a small toss. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"Dad, you should exercise a bit. I don’t even weigh a hundred pounds," Jiang Mianmian retorted immediately after being called heavy by her dad.

"Your dad is busy with business every day, where’s the time to exercise?" said Jiang Changhai, tired from cycling, as he retorted while sitting on the bed.

Jiang Mianmian knew her dad worked hard to earn money, so she didn’t say anything further.

"Sweetie, why are you in the room by yourself? Why not go out to watch TV?" Su Wanyu asked, cuddling her daughter by her side.

"Mom, I don’t want to watch TV; the cartoons that Big Brother and Second Brother watch are too childish for me. I’d rather spend this time reading a book inside," Jiang Mianmian explained with a cheeky smile.

"But you can’t always read, be careful not to become a little old man," Su Wanyu joked, poking her daughter’s nose affectionately, worried she might become introverted from staying inside too long.

"Mom, I won’t. I go out to play with Big Brother and Second Brother every morning and afternoon when it’s cooler, don’t worry," Jiang Mianmian said, cuddling in her mother’s arms with a giggle, knowing her mom, like her grandmother, was just looking out for her.

The family chatted for a while, and then Jiang Mianmian suddenly remembered what happened with Da Ya in the morning.

She sat up from her mother’s embrace, looked at her parents, and recounted the morning’s events, including the thoughts of Da Ya, Er Ya, and herself.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Changhai immediately patted his chest and promised, "Sweetie, leave this to your dad. I’ll handle it quickly and clearly for you."

"Haha, Dad, I knew you’re the best. You’re the most amazing dad in the world," Jiang Mianmian said, looking at her father with adoration, as the issue that troubled her for two days was nothing in her dad’s hands.

Seeing him so confident, Su Wanyu curiously asked, "Brother Hai, how are you planning to handle Da Ya’s issue?"

Jiang Mianmian also looked at her dad curiously, eager to know his clever solution.

Jiang Changhai confidently raised his eyebrows at the mother and daughter, "The wise have their wisdom. Just wait and see."

The mother and daughter saw him being mysterious and didn’t press further since they’d find out soon enough anyway.

When the Jiang family members returned from the fields and saw Jiang Changhai, they were quite surprised. His timing was impeccable.

Especially the couple from the second house, they had been worried Jiang Changhai wouldn’t return these few days, keeping the Tang Family waiting and jeopardizing the marriage arrangement.
