Chapter 61: Pressure

Yanai flipped over and pointed at his rounded backside. "There’s still here. I can’t see it."

Nina’s eyes widened, and she instinctively took a step back.

Was he serious?

To remove a stinger there would mean...

Were they really that close?

Yanai turned his head to look at her, his bright puppy eyes full of shy expectation.

Before Nina could refuse, Mino exploded. "Yanai, that’s enough!"

"Nina, step aside for a moment." He gently pulled her back, jumped onto the table, and kicked Yanai off with one swift motion. "You shameless wolf. Do you have no dignity at all?"

Yanai hit the ground with a loud thud.

At once, Sal let out a sharp growl and lunged forward. You dare take advantage of my little female? I’ll tear you apart!

Yanai scrambled to his feet, clutching his backside as Sal chased him around the yard.

Mino quickly stripped off his shirt and lay down on the table himself, looking slightly shy as he gazed at Nina. "Nina, I have some on me too."

Even though she had helped bathe him before, his human form still made him more self-conscious.

Nina glanced pointedly at a certain area. "There shouldn’t be any there, right?"

Mino’s face burned. "N-no."

Even if there were, he wouldn’t dare say so.

Since she couldn’t show favoritism, Nina helped remove the stingers from him as well.

Mino’s physique was just as impressive—broad chest, firm muscles, defined abs. He embodied the phrase "lean in clothes, sculpted without."

It wasn’t the first time he’d been bare-chested in front of her, but this close proximity felt different.

Still, Nina’s heart was much steadier now. She completed the task efficiently and stepped back. "All done. I’m going inside to rest."

Mino rose reluctantly. "Alright. I’ll call you when the bathwater’s ready."

Nina glanced at Yanai, who was still being chased by Sal, and couldn’t help laughing before heading inside to play with the babies.

After seeing Teah home, Leah returned to her own house.

The moment Teah stepped inside, Tali hurried toward her. "Teah, how was it? Did you notice anything unusual about Nina?"

Teah avoided his gaze. "No. Everything seemed normal."

"She really has only one baby? No signs of others in the room? Nothing unusual at all?" Tali pressed.

"I only saw one. The room just had furniture. Nothing else."

"Was there anything covered? Any place that could hide babies? Did you find excuses to look everywhere?" He paused. "Or did she go into her room before you entered?"

"No. The room was clear at a glance. No place to hide anything. And she didn’t go in before I did."

Teah lied instinctively, panic flashing in her eyes.

In truth, she hadn’t checked under the covered areas at all. Nina had stepped into the room several times during dinner—and before Teah went in as well.

But she didn’t want to tell Tali that.

She genuinely believed Nina was a good female. She didn’t want her—or her babies—to be harmed.

After so many years of being bonded to Tali, Teah had long sensed that he wasn’t as gentle as he appeared. But he was her strongest mate and the provider of her beast crystals. Sometimes, pretending not to see was easier.

Teah leaned into his arms, wrapping herself around him. "Tali, Nina is clever and kind. Please treat her well."

"Of course," Tali replied, embracing her.

But his eyes darkened. She had clearly lied.

After all these years together, how could he not recognize her small tells?

This Nina was quite capable—winning Teah’s sympathy after just one visit.

The scouts he had sent out would soon return with information. Later, he would test things further himself.

After Teah fell asleep, Tali summoned his grown son, Been.

"Starting tomorrow, pursue Nina," he ordered. "You must become her mate."

"Father, I already tried once. She rejected me," Been said regretfully.

"That’s fine. Even the best females yield to persistence. Keep chasing her. If necessary, use special methods."

"I understand. I’ll do my best."

After giving further instructions, Tali dismissed him.

He stood under the dark night sky, his expression deepening.

Back at Nina’s stone house, she bathed, let the egg babies roll around on the bed, then entered the system to check her earnings.

When she saw the number on the panel, her eyes sparkled.

Fifty thousand credits in one day!

Becoming rich suddenly felt within her reach.

The beehive and the bees themselves had contributed most of the total.

"Time to buy some things for the babies," she murmured.

She browsed the shop. There was beast-world infant formula, but the prices were steep.

With so many babies, she decided it would be best to feed them formula uniformly.

Looking at the rows of cans, she frowned. "Little Bun, your shop is outrageous. A decent can costs at least a thousand credits—some are three thousand."

[Host, you get what you pay for. Beast-world babies require high energy. These formulas are excellent—especially the most expensive one. Highly recommended.]

Little Bun hovered beside the priciest can.

[It’s truly the best. For babies, you must choose the best. Since you have many, buy in bulk and you’ll upgrade to Silver VIP immediately.]

Nina stared at the premium formula.

She had already bought one before—wanting the best for her baby. Back then, she could afford it, thinking she’d just earn more later.

But now there were seven.

The pressure felt immense.

Still, she refused to treat any of them differently. If she could, she would give them all the best.

For a moment, she even wondered whether Little Bun had deliberately withheld information about how many babies there were.

But after asking, Little Bun insisted it hadn’t detected multiple embryos—perhaps the babies themselves possessed some special ability.

In the end, Nina chose to trust it.

She had earned a good amount today. She could manage for now—and keep earning more.

Though the rainy season was approaching, making it harder to go out, which worried her.

Shaking off the concern, she continued shopping.

Formula. Bottles. A baby bath basin...

After checkout, she successfully upgraded to Silver VIP.

Exiting the system, she gathered the tired egg babies back into their nest and lay down with them.

Outside, Yanai’s battle with Sal had ended with several clawed tears in the fur at his backside.

Late that night, after bathing, Yanai returned to his room—only for Mino to slam him against the wall.
