After Giving Birth, All My Beast Ex-Husbands Suddenly Want Me Back-Chapter 156: Will you stay tonight?
Perhaps I should tell the truth? No. Absolutely not.
That old silver wolf was far too shrewd—more cunning than any fox. If he found out, he would definitely scheme every possible way to clear his son’s path and push him into position.
Say the engagement was broken off? Even worse.
What if it reached Nina’s ears?
Then what?
Ming’s thoughts raced. In the next instant, he forced a vague, careless tone.
"You know what my useless son is like. What else could it be? It’s... just like that."
Aron narrowed his eyes. "So, you broke off the engagement, too?"
"Oh—right! I forgot to grab that little coral toy she likes," Ming suddenly exclaimed, slapping his forehead as if just remembering. "Old man, I’ve got to go find it. We’ll talk later."
Before Aron could press further, Ming turned and slipped quickly back inside, neatly dodging the question.
Aron watched his retreating figure, suspicion stirring.
Something’s off...
That old white cat was acting strange.
He couldn’t quite put his finger on it—but something didn’t sit right.
With a faint frown, Aron turned and headed toward his assigned stone house.
Back inside, Ming let out a quiet breath of relief.
That should hold him off... for now.
But Aron was sharp.
Nina’s identity... probably wouldn’t stay hidden much longer.
He needed to act fast—help Mino secure his place before anything came to light.
He called Mino into the room. "Have you finished everything I told you to prepare?"
Mino shifted slightly, a bit awkward. "...Yes."
"And what I taught you—did you remember it all?" Ming pressed. "If there’s anything you don’t understand, ask me now."
"I remember," Mino replied, his handsome face tinged red. "...I think I understand."
Though in truth, he’d only know for sure once he tried.
Still uneasy, Ming lowered his voice and went over everything again, step by step.
Mino nodded repeatedly.
His face grew redder and redder.
"Tonight, I’ll find a way to get Nina to come over," Ming said. "The rest is up to you."
Then, more sternly, he added, "Don’t mess this up."
The position of first mate was already gone, but the third?
That had to be secured.
"...I understand." Mino nodded, determination flickering in his eyes. "I won’t fail."
After dinner, Mino slipped quietly into the kitchen, working in secret.
Once he finished, he sent Ming a signal.
Ming understood immediately.
Using Aron as an excuse, he lured Yanai away, then sent a spirit cat male to deliver a message.
"Lady Nina, our young master prepared some pastries for you. He hopes you’ll try them," the spirit cat said respectfully. "He’s waiting for you in his room."
"Mino?" Nina looked slightly puzzled, but nodded. "Alright. I’ll come shortly."
Usually, he brought things to her himself.
Why ask her to come this time?
When the message was delivered, Mino’s heart leapt—nervous, yet filled with anticipation.
He checked the desserts again and again, then glanced toward the doorway, unable to sit still.
Waiting.
When Nina finished what she was doing, she made her way to his room.
She lifted the curtain. "Mino? You made desserts for me?"
The moment he saw her, his clear blue eyes lit up with excitement. "Yes—I made the fruit cakes you mentioned. I... wanted you to try them."
But as he thought of what came next, his heartbeat grew uneven.
Nina noticed the small cakes set beside the bed.
"Oh? Alright." She walked over, sat down, and took a bite. "They’re delicious."
"I’m glad you like them."
Mino bit his lip, then slowly removed his outer garment.
Nina looked up.
The spoon in her hand nearly slipped.
Mino now stood before her with a pair of soft, feline ears atop his head. Around his neck hung a black bone necklace. His body was only lightly covered in fur—just enough to conceal, yet not enough to hide.
Behind him, a fluffy tail swayed gently.
For a moment, Nina’s heartbeat quickened. "Mino... you..."
Now she understood why he had asked her to come.
Mino stepped closer, stopping in front of her. "Nina... do you like how I look like this?"
A faint blush crept across her face.
She nodded softly. "...I want to touch your ears."
Mino dropped to one knee before her, face flushed, and leaned closer.
She reached out and soft, warm fur brushed against her fingers.
The sensation was incredibly good.
Then her gaze shifted. "...Your tail too."
Mino obediently brought it forward.
She alternated between his ears and his tail, fingers tracing lightly, curiously—until his face turned completely red, his breath growing uneven.
Unable to bear it any longer, Mino caught her hand and pressed it gently against his cheek.
"Nina... what I really wanted you to taste today..." His voice faltered, breath unsteady. "...is me."
"Nina... will you stay tonight?"
He lifted his eyes, gaze hazy, filled with longing.
Heat spread to Nina’s ears. The refusal she intended... never came.
"Then... we’ll have Odian mark us first... and after that..."
Mino froze—then exploded with joy.
"Y-you mean—you’ll accept me? Truly?"
He had only hoped to give himself to her tonight, and yet, she was offering him a place at her side?
This was beyond anything he had imagined.
"Wait—just wait for me! I’ll go find Odian right now!"
Before she could stop him, he dashed out like a gust of wind.
Nina pressed a hand to her forehead.
He’s really going out like that?
"Odian! Nina said you should come mark us!" Mino’s voice rang out, far louder than usual, unable to contain his excitement.
Odian glanced at him—and coughed lightly.
"...Understood."
So this is how that cat managed it...
It seemed Nina liked this sort of appearance.
But he... might not be able to pull it off the same way.
Perhaps there’s another approach...
As Odian followed Mino back, the other males who caught sight of him were struck with realization.
That cat... really knows what he’s doing.
So this was how he had convinced Nina.
Sal: ...How did I not think of this? Next time, I’ll try it too.
Kith: ...Should I give it a shot as well?
Finch: Would Nina like fox ears and tails? Even with only six tails left... they’re still beautiful.
Aviel: I don’t have ears or a tail like that... would horns and a dragon tail work?
Lex: ...I don’t have that either. But if she likes it, I’ll find a way.
Unaware that his bold display had just inspired an entire wave of competition, Mino remained immersed in pure, overflowing joy.
Not long after, Odian completed the marking.
"Nina, will you stay here tonight?" he asked gently.
Nina shook her head. "Tonight, we’ll go back to my room. The children can stay in yours."
She paused, glancing around. "Tomorrow, we’ll arrange a separate room for Mino."
"Understood. I’ll take care of it." Odian nodded, then turned to tend to the children.
Mino followed Nina back like a newlywed, quiet and obedient—his heart still racing, unable to calm.
