After Divorce: Remarried to a Tycoon with Twin Babies-Chapter 55: Vivian Keeps Her Appointment with Mr. Thorne! First Visit to the Thorne Family!
Austin Grant stormed after her, powerless and furious, yelling, "Vivian Sinclair—get back here—"
But unfortunately, Vivian was already beyond hearing anything.
It was only after she returned home that Vivian finally calmed down.
She knew well what her impulsiveness today really meant.
A confrontation with her family—the Sinclairs—once again.
Letting the Sinclairs witness her discord with Austin Grant.
This move would even offend her father-in-law, Theodore Grant, since much of his attitude toward her was because of the Sinclair family.
She still hadn’t gotten the hundred-million compensation or her company shares—she really had been reckless.
But Vivian just couldn’t bear to endure any more humiliation.
Once her emotions settled, Vivian sat on the sofa, pressing her slightly rounded belly.
Because of the uncertainty surrounding her unborn child, when the news of Austin Grant and his mother dining with Zoe Monroe hit the trending topics, many posts online referred to her as a ’pregnant woman’. Vivian had asked Tina Archer to use her graduate connections to get those posts taken down.
Now, searching online would turn up no mention of the Young Madam of the Grant family being pregnant.
So even though Vivian had gone missing for several days and the public opinion online was boiling over, nobody brought up her pregnancy again.
Also, it was probably because of this that the Sinclairs still had no idea she was pregnant.
It was early winter again, and Vivian hadn’t even had a chance to take off her coat before she was gone.
That was just as well.
Better not to invite more trouble.
And even if she got a lot of scolding this time, no matter how bad things got, it couldn’t be worse than before.
But what she didn’t expect was that Catherine was the first to message her.
She didn’t mention the Sinclair family, nor anything about Vivian leaving, not even a word about tonight.
And what she said instantly seized all of Vivian’s attention.
"Vivian, let’s get dinner in a couple days? I think you might be interested in your mom’s story."
Her mom’s story?
Could it be—Catherine had a clue to her origins?
Vivian stared at the message, shocked and suspicious. For a moment, it felt as if her heart stopped beating.
She replied instantly, "Okay, you pick the place."
The next day, Theodore Grant didn’t contact Vivian.
No one from the Grants came looking for her, either.
Vivian breathed a sigh of relief, and soon it was time for her and Lina Holloway’s appointment at the Thorne mansion.
Vivian drove herself, navigating toward Crestfall Villa.
Unexpectedly, halfway there, her car’s system alerted her to low tire pressure, asking her to stop by the road.
With the baby to consider, Vivian didn’t dare take any risks. She pulled over immediately and called for roadside assistance.
The operator suggested she try to drive to a nearby repair shop.
Vivian glanced around—where was there a repair shop?
She couldn’t even see a regular house.
She was on a wild mountain slope, shrouded in mist; beyond ten meters, everything was blurry.
Vivian could only insist the rescue team come up and handle it. She was willing to pay extra.
But after only half an hour of waiting, Lina Holloway called.
"Miss Sinclair, you messaged me when you left, by my calculations you should have arrived by now."
"Did something happen, that you were delayed?"
Vivian hadn’t thought Lina would be so attentive.
She could only explain her car’s tire was malfunctioning.
"I suspect I ran over a nail, or some glass, so I didn’t dare risk it."
Lina paused, then quickly replied, "Wait there, I’ll come to you right away."
Vivian waited another ten minutes before a familiar Bentley drove up around the mountain bend.
Vivian hurried out to greet it, but didn’t expect that the person stepping out wasn’t Lina Holloway—it was Julian Thorne.
He was, as always, dressed in black.
Black turtleneck sweater, black coat, black trousers.
Tall and commanding, not only did he wear his outfit with a model’s poise, but he radiated a mysterious nobility.
Paired with that stunning face, he had enough allure to take your breath away.
And could, with ease, make anyone lose their composure.
Vivian thought: once she repaid the favor she owed him, she’d better leave Ardis City as soon as possible.
She had to escape not just the Sinclairs and the Grants, but Julian Thorne too.
If not, she feared the secret of her child would eventually be exposed to the Thorne family.
And if she had to fight against the Thornes, she, her child, and her mother might all be wiped out without a trace.
Julian strode up to Vivian, catching the disappointment on her face, the corner of his mouth lifting: "Miss Sinclair, who do you think Dr. Holloway listens to?" 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Vivian: ...
She feigned politeness, "I just didn’t want to trouble you, Mr. Thorne."
Julian said, "When I heard W was coming, of course I had to personally welcome you."
So he really was the boss—figures.
"Maybe I should just wait for roadside assistance—eh?"
Vivian was pulled by Julian’s large hand, led straight to his car.
He even courteously held the door open and personally helped her inside.
Just as Vivian settled in and reached for her seatbelt, Julian bent down and slipped right into the car with her.
"Miss Sinclair, please sit tight."
Julian fastened her seatbelt for her, then turned his face and gazed right into Vivian’s eyes.
Vivian didn’t see any hint of romance—nothing between a man and a woman—but his eyes held intensely strong emotions toward her.
Vivian instinctively gripped the seatbelt tight.
"Mr. Thorne?"
Only then did Julian straighten and say politely, "W, welcome to Crestfall Villa."
The car broke through the fog, crossed the mountain, and finally rolled slowly up to Crestfall Villa, which occupied the entire summit.
It towered over the whole mountaintop, massive and imposing, and covered an astonishing area.
After entering the immense iron gates, Julian drove another ten minutes before reaching the main house—a castle-like, sprawling mansion!
On the way, they passed through woodlands, drove by walls of roses, and even saw a swan lake.
At last they stopped on the plaza before the residence.
The moment the car stopped, brilliant fountains sprayed up in celebration.
Vivian was almost numb from sensory overload.
The rumors said Crestfall Villa was the most mysterious and lavishly luxurious mansion in all of Ardis—and seeing it now, she realized the reputation was well deserved!
Vivian had once heard that people tried sending drones to peek at Crestfall Villa’s secrets, but the drones were shot down before they got close.
Crestfall Villa’s security was the best in Ardis City.
The Thorne family almost never entertained outsiders here—even the very rare occasions required guests to sign non-disclosure agreements about the estate.
Vivian had always wondered, just how rich could the Thornes really be?
She’d grown up in wealth herself—what hadn’t she seen?
Surely the Thorne family was just putting on airs, being mysterious for effect.
But now, she realized she had been a frog at the bottom of a well, seeing only a patch of sky.
Their wealth—she probably couldn’t even begin to imagine.
And Crestfall Villa truly was the most spectacular estate she’d ever seen.
The most resplendent, extravagant manor she’d ever laid eyes on.
"Welcome home, sir."
"Welcome, Miss Sinclair—"
Four full rows of uniformed servants stood respectfully on the plaza to greet Vivian’s arrival.
Vivian felt slightly awkward, but graciously accepted the reception.
"Thank you, everyone."
Julian’s gaze was icy as he looked at Lina Holloway and Butler Turner, who stood aside.
As if blaming them for their meddling and racket.
Lina Holloway was so frightened her legs shook.
Butler Turner whispered, "Don’t be scared. We just haven’t had guests here in a long time, so everyone’s a little out of practice."
Everyone—including Master Julian, of course.
Butler Turner smiled as he soothed Lina, then stepped forward to respectfully ask, "Sir, will Miss Sinclair be dining here today? I’ve already prepared 108 dishes, I’m sure she’ll find something to her taste."
"And Miss Sinclair, don’t worry about waste. Once you and Master Julian pick from the menu, the rest will be eaten clean by our staff of over a hundred."
Vivian: What a thoughtful butler... envy.
Vivian nodded to everyone and followed Julian into the main house.
Lina Holloway quickly hurried after them.
The opulence inside was indescribable—so lavish, it felt like a palace.
There were so many corridors, Vivian thought if she’d come alone for the first time, she’d surely lose her way.
While she was admiring yet another corridor’s artwork, suddenly, she saw her own paintings!
Not just one, four of her own pieces!
Vivian immediately recognized them as originals.
And one of them was the one bought at Uncle Greenshire’s exhibit!
The person who bought her painting turned out to be him?
Vivian was astonished. In this world, only he could own four of her paintings at once.
But when she turned around, Julian and Lina had disappeared.
Just as Vivian was wondering about this, she noticed through the white gauze at the side door, a young girl sitting in the corner of the garden, drawing something.
She walked over and saw the girl’s face was so pale it was almost sickly.
But there was no denying her beauty—like a timid fawn, too delicate for the world.
Vivian’s quiet approach startled her.
But when she saw Vivian’s face clearly, the girl smiled softly at her.
"My brother said W would visit me today."
"So I guessed—that’s you, isn’t it?"
