Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Vivian Quits This Game!

Elias took a step back.

"Vivian, you’ve really grown up, haven’t you?"

He sneered, staring at the girl who had completely matured in front of him.

She had gained a sense of maturity and rebellion, making her seem unfamiliar and complicated to him.

As the two stood at an impasse, Catherine stepped out from inside.

"Vivian, you’re here?"

"Brother, just as you came back too, why not come in together?"

With that, Catherine came out and took Vivian’s hand to lead her inside.

The gatekeeper suddenly realized Vivian’s identity, so she was the fake heiress who was kicked out by the Sinclair Family?

Seeing that the eldest young master didn’t seem to care much about his fake sister, the gatekeeper responded with nothing more than a dismissive smirk.

At that moment, a Maserati sports car drove up to the entrance.

The gatekeeper eagerly went forward to greet her: "Miss Sutton, you’ve arrived?"

"The young master just returned, and you’re right behind him."

"Here, let me open the door for you, watch your step."

Vivian was walking in the garden when she heard the words "Miss Sutton" and thought: No way!?

Turning around, there stood Jacqueline Sutton!

Jacqueline Sutton was the second daughter of the Sutton Family and Vivian’s enduring nemesis ever since elementary school.

For years, they never got along, and eventually, they even came to see each other as arch-enemies!

Why would she be visiting the Sinclair residence?

Seeing Jacqueline rush over shyly to Elias and affectionately cling to him, saying, "Elias, were you waiting for me?"

Vivian felt an overwhelming disgust.

In the past, she couldn’t get along with Jacqueline and often badmouthed her in front of Elias!

Elias also harbored a strong dislike for Jacqueline.

Because in middle school, Jacqueline had conspired with classmates to bully Vivian!

They locked Vivian in the bathroom.

Tore up Vivian’s textbooks, threw away her desk, put filthy things in her food, and even pushed her into a sewage pit, among other things.

These bullying tactics were no different from those seen online.

Though Vivian tried to fight back, it had little effect, so she returned home crying to her brother.

Elias personally went to the school and pushed Jacqueline into the pool.

He warned that if anyone dared to touch Vivian again, they’d find themselves unable to get out of the pool.

Elias’s madness seemed genuine, frightening the bullies, including Jacqueline, into submission.

From then on, Jacqueline only schemed against Vivian in secret, never daring to show it openly.

Vivian never let go of that bullying; if she had, she wouldn’t have secretly continued drawing during middle school.

But unexpectedly, Jacqueline now appeared alongside Elias?

Catherine explained: "Our families are considering an arranged marriage."

"They’ve been spending a lot of time together recently."

Vivian still found it hard to accept.

Although she should let go of everything related to the Sinclair Family, that was Jacqueline! Elias knew full well what Jacqueline had done to her!

But maybe, it was precisely because of what Jacqueline had done to her that Elias was accepting this marriage?

Vivian felt a sharp, intentional stab in her heart, leaving her stunned for a long while.

Wendy Warren, seeing that Vivian was indeed standing there just fine, hugged her and began to cry.

"What if something really happened to you, what would your mother do?"

"I raised you for over twenty years, do you know you almost caused my death this time?"

Catherine helplessly said beside her: "Mom’s eyes were still swollen like peaches yesterday."

"If you keep crying, they’ll swell up again after finally going down."

Vivian felt a bit lost, unsure of what to do, though she believed Wendy had feelings for her.

But ever since the truth about the real and fake daughters was exposed, Wendy feared that she might favor her fake daughter and neglect Catherine, who had endured all the grievances. So, Wendy used indifference and neglect to maintain peace.

Vivian understood.

But now why...

One look at Catherine, and she understood.

Catherine must have done something that slowly opened Wendy’s heart again.

"Mom, I’m alright, aren’t I?"

"I can take care of myself now."

But as soon as Vivian finished speaking, Elias entered with Jacqueline and coldly said: "Is that so?"

"So capable, yet how could Austin Grant’s lover walk all over you?"

"I heard you got hospitalized out of anger these past few days."

"Truly impressive, letting the world see what a useless person our Sinclair Family has produced."

Hearing such intentional cutting remarks once again, Vivian didn’t hold back and retorted: "Then you can explain to everyone that I’m not actually a Sinclair."

"So being rebellious and useless, and a disgrace, isn’t your problem!"

Wendy was shocked and grabbed Vivian tightly: "Vivian? Is this how you speak to your brother?"

"And Elias, what’s the matter with you?"

"You’ve finally reunited; can’t you just have a proper conversation?"

Elias’s expression darkened, and Jacqueline’s eyes twinkled as she smiled, stepping forward to hold onto Vivian.

"Vivian, it’s been so long, and you’re still as sharp-tongued as ever?"

"Aunt, you don’t know. Vivian and I went to the same school, and she’s always been great with words, often twisting things and causing misunderstandings."

"Oh, look, now she’s even misunderstood Elias."

"Elias was just concerned about you, Vivian. Don’t mistake good intentions!"

Jacqueline Sutton’s words made Wendy Warren look suspiciously at Vivian Sinclair: "Is that true, Vivian?"

"Were you really two different people at school and outside?"

Vivian Sinclair coldly stared at Jacqueline Sutton: "You actually said that."

"Who is the one distorting the facts and trying to twist the truth?"

Jacqueline Sutton: "Oh, are you trying to threaten me?"

"Elias, I explained that matter to you back then. What you did for Vivian back then scared me to death. She was tyrannical at school, and I dared not provoke her at all."

"Now I’ve misspoken again, Vivian Sinclair won’t hit me, will she?" 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Elias Sinclair: "She wouldn’t dare!"

As he spoke, Elias Sinclair’s gaze was as sharp as a knife, falling on Vivian Sinclair.

Vivian Sinclair, infuriated, shouted "Nonsense!" just as she raised her arm to shake off Jacqueline Sutton. But Jacqueline suddenly acted as if she was forcefully pushed away.

With a cry of ’Ah’.

She actually fell to the ground.

Jacqueline Sutton’s face was filled with grievance and panic, even making Wendy Warren believe it.

She angrily glared at Vivian Sinclair: "Why are you causing trouble the moment you return?"

"Vivian, Jacqueline will be your sister-in-law in the future, show her some respect!"

Only then did Vivian Sinclair calm down from head to toe.

She saw the trace of triumph in Jacqueline Sutton’s eyes and also saw Elias Sinclair holding Jacqueline and shooting her a warning and threatening look.

There was even...disgust.

"As expected, Grandpa and Grandma were right."

"You’re nothing but a thankless wretch!"

Vivian Sinclair: "Yes, since you know I’m an ungrateful wretch, why call me back?"

After saying that, Vivian Sinclair didn’t linger and quickly left the living room.

It was only then that Wendy Warren regretfully shouted, "Vivian, Vivian!"

"Mom just said one thing, and you’re already angry?"

Wendy Warren wanted to catch up but was stopped by Elias Sinclair.

"Mom, from now on, there’s no need to bother about Vivian Sinclair’s affairs!"

"Anyway, she’s now the Young Madam of the Grant Family, proud and stubborn, thinking she’s never wrong."

"It’s like we owe her."

"Everyone in the world owes her."

"Let her be!"

Wendy Warren’s eyes turned red: "Elias, you clearly care about Vivian, why do you have to say that?"

Elias Sinclair fell silent.

Seeing this, Jacqueline Sutton was about to speak, but Catherine Sinclair stared at her, "Shut up!"

"I didn’t see Vivian push you at all. Tell me, how did you fall so far?"

"Could it be you’re as light as a feather, and a puff of air from her sent you flying?"

Catherine Sinclair’s skeptical gaze fell on Jacqueline Sutton, who was suddenly startled.

Jacqueline Sutton was just about to explain to Elias Sinclair, but realized there was no surprise in his eyes.

Only then did Jacqueline Sutton understand that her clumsy acting was probably only believed by Mrs. Sinclair!

A chill hit her heart.

She finally understood she was just a tool for Elias Sinclair to deliberately trouble Vivian Sinclair!

Jacqueline Sutton clenched her fists tightly, filled with humiliation and resentment.

On the other side, Vivian Sinclair had just arrived at the garden when she bumped into Simon Sinclair, who had just returned.

"Back?"

Simon Sinclair’s indifferent tone implied no joy, but also no great dislike towards Vivian’s return.

However, what surprised Vivian Sinclair more was seeing Austin Grant following behind Simon Sinclair, someone she least wanted to see.

Austin Grant naturally walked over to Vivian Sinclair, intimately wrapping his arm around her shoulder: "Wife, I wasn’t late, was I?"

Vivian Sinclair knew that after the marriage alliance between The Sinclair and Grant families, she was merely a pawn and a bargaining chip between them.

Is there any true feeling?

If they were happy, they could grant her some of the two families’ glory.

If unhappy, she was nothing at all.

Once a respectable daughter of the Sinclair Family.

After her background was exposed, she became a discarded entity rejected by both sides.

Until recently, they probably saw that she could still be of some use, and the two families needed another excuse to unite, so Vivian Sinclair was brought back into the fold.

But she didn’t want to play this game anymore.

What dignity?

That’s what they wanted.

Not her!

Vivian Sinclair threw off Austin Grant’s hand and strode out of the Sinclair Family’s door.

Simon Sinclair called after her in anger: "Vivian Sinclair!"

Vivian Sinclair did not look back, getting into the car and quickly locking it.

Sure enough, Austin Grant followed closely.

He knocked on the car window with a sullen face, warning Vivian Sinclair, "Vivian Sinclair, you know how much Dad values you now. Are you going to ruin all this?"

"What’s the big deal?"

"It’s just some grievances, isn’t the Grant Family giving you enough face?"

"Vivian Sinclair, get out of the car!"

"I’ll go in with you to apologize to your parents and brother—"

Vivian Sinclair didn’t even glance at him and sped away with the car.
