Just as Adrian Sutton was about to call Hughes to have him take down the video and ban the accounts of the trolls stirring up trouble, a call from Claire Mercer came in.

He answered Claire’s call almost instantly.

"What is it, Claire?"

Claire’s cheerful and clear voice came through the phone.

"Remember how I mentioned coming over for your housewarming?"

"Is today a good day for you?"

The question made the gloom on Adrian Sutton’s face vanish, instantly replaced by a smile.

"I’m free."

But then he remembered the video Judith Caldwell had posted online.

A shadow fell over Adrian Sutton’s wonderful mood.

"You saw it and you’re not angry?"

"It’s fine, I’m not angry." Claire’s tone was still remarkably lighthearted.

"Let her have her moment."

"From the sound of it, you’re already prepared to fight back?"

"Yes, I’m organizing the evidence I have on hand, along with statements from my classmates."

"If I make all this public, her lies will fall apart on their own."

"So we just leave the video and comments up?"

’He truly couldn’t stand seeing her insulted and doubted.’

Claire thought for a moment before saying, "If I take it down, people will think I have something to hide."

"It’s better to just leave it up. That way, when the tables turn, the backlash against her will be even worse."

"Besides, I don’t have the money to pay someone to take it down right now anyway."

’The wife of the Sinclair family’s eldest grandson, and in the end, it was a title in name only.’

’Two years after graduation, and her savings were less than a hundred thousand.’

’She had truly wasted her precious time on Gavin Sinclair.’

When Adrian Sutton heard that last sentence, he thought of all the injustice and abuse she had suffered over the years.

The anger that had just subsided was instantly reignited.

Hatred for the Sinclair and Mercer families surged like a raging fire through every drop of his blood.

It burned so hot his eyes turned crimson, and his heart ached for her with an unbearable pang.

He felt an overwhelming urge to give her a warm home.

To protect her for the rest of her life, and never let her suffer even the slightest harm again.

His original plan was to have Hughes delete the video, remove the comments, suppress the trending topic, and ban the troll accounts.

Then, he would expose every single instance of Judith Caldwell’s abuse toward Claire over the years.

It would be just like when he’d had his people dig up dirt on Mrs. Sinclair, Rose Gable, and Cynthia Sinclair.

He would lay bare every wicked thing they’d ever done, and then the public could be the judge.

But, just as Claire had said, if he helped her by deleting the post and all the unfavorable comments, then people would definitely think Claire was trying to silence them, and the narrative would turn against her.

"Actually, you’re right. Taking the post down would just make people who don’t know the truth think you have something to hide."

"They might even suspect someone is manipulating the narrative on your behalf."

"It’s better to wait until the discussion reaches a fever pitch, and then strike back with your evidence."

Claire said, "You’re right. The fact that I don’t have money to get the post deleted is actually a good thing."

"I’ve completely cut ties with both the Mercer and Sinclair families now."

"From now on, I can finally focus on my career and on making money, with no distractions."

’She was done being a fool for love.’

’Wasting all her thoughts and time on a scumbag.’

After hanging up, Adrian Sutton immediately went to change his clothes.
