After Breaking Up, I Married the General-Chapter 84 - 83: Rush to the Frontline 5
It can be said that he was indeed displeased with those sentinels he hadn’t even met because of Ryzel.
"Nothing, it’s just that I didn’t expect I got to see a day where you got even displeased with people without names.
Ha ha ha
You’re already displeased with those sentinels you haven’t even met. I’m surprised Dwight Barlowe was still alive until now," Mervin said with a chuckle.
Layton Lewis didn’t like Dwight Barlow at all, it can even be said that he disliked him immensely because of what he did to Ryzel.
He was very jealous of him because he became Ryzel’s first boyfriend which is also why he disliked him.
If he wasn’t a general and a law-abiding citizen, he might have gotten rid of Dwight Barlowe a long time ago.
He was still very rational, so he didn’t do anything to Dwight Barlowe as he wasn’t even anything in Ryzel’s life.
At that time, he doesn’t have any rights to do anything as he doesn’t have any relationship with Ryzel.
Now that he is finally with Ryzel he finally has the right to take care of his affairs.
He doesn’t want Ryzel to have any more contact with Dwight Barlowe, so he immediately agreed to transfer him when they asked for it.
He knew that Dwight actually didn’t want to leave the ninth army for the time being as it is the army where you could get promotions easily.
He also has a strong ability, but Layton Lewis doesn’t want to retain him in the army because of his conduct and mainly for Ryzel.
Even if Ryzel doesn’t love Dwight anymore, if he saw him often in the future then he would always be reminded of him.
Be it love or anger Layton Lewis doesn’t want Ryzel to have any for Dwight because if he has those feelings even if it is anger it just means that he didn’t forget the person at all, and it was still on his mind.
He wants to have Ryzel as a whole and doesn’t want him to have anything with other people so of course he wouldn’t let other people have influence in Ryzels emotions.
He could tolerate Ryzel’s feelings for his friends, but he won’t tolerate Ryzel having any feelings for his ex be it anger or anything.
"Stop with the nonsense and do your work," Layton Lewis said.
"Don’t worry, I already called the logistics department to continue testing the potions here.
Anyway, you really married someone awesome. The first day he came in, he immediately gave us a lot of potions.
I just checked some of those potions and most of them are of a higher quality than most of the potions we are currently receiving.
I didn’t expect Ryzel to be able to prepare a lot of potions. He just said that half of these potions were made by him in a month which is incredible.
Lewis, how high is his mental strength to be able to make a lot of potions in a month?"
"His mental power level is 2S."
"What! 2S no wonder he can make a lot of potions in a short time.
I was already anticipating that his mental power level would be very high as his compatibility rate with you is as high as 93% but I didn’t expect that his mental power level would be 2S.
You really married a treasure! Ryzel is currently the youngest guide who has a 2S mental power.
Then what about his protection? Have you arranged it already?
"Yes, he would be protected by those who protected him years ago and I will also add some more."
"Oh, so that’s what Rette’s group was doing. I have been wondering where you assigned them and what job they did for you as they disappeared for many years.
When they came back, no matter how I tried to get information they wouldn’t even say anything. Now, I finally knew where they went," Mervin said while chuckling.
"By the way, when will his level be announced to others," Mervin asked.
"It should be announced tomorrow because I asked the president to delay it, but I asked the president to delay it again until we finish cleaning up this wave of Zergs."
"That’s good, we don’t have time to answer anyone right now. So, it is indeed good that the president agreed.
After cleaning up the Zergs we will surely be busy dealing with inquiries about Ryzel. I’m sure a lot of 2S level sentinels in our army and other armies will be inquiring about Ryzel for guidance."
Hearing what Mervin said Layton Lewis can’t help but be displeased. He knew that with Ryzel’s mental power he needed to guide some sentinels, especially those sentinels with 2S level mental strength as there were very few guides who could guide them.
In his army alone there were only 7 guides who could guide 2S level sentinels. The number of 2S level sentinels in his army is around two hundred and fifty. A lot of those sentinels were relying on potions as they can’t be guided with just those 7 guides.
Now that Ryzel is here and with a 2S mental strength he could surely guide all of them.
As his partner he already has a 3S mental strength so there wouldn’t be a problem for Ryzel not to be able to guide any 2S level sentinel because of the level difference.
With his mental strength that surpasses everyone, Ryzel could freely guide other sentinels with his 2S mental power.
Just thinking about it makes Layton Lewis full of displeasure. He knew that Ryzel was needed by a lot of people and as a guide with 2S level mental power he is obligated to guide those 2S level sentinels.
The ninth army alone had a lot of 2S level sentinels that needed Ryzel. He understood the necessity, but he still can’t help but feel bad.
"Hey! Lewis, your displeasure is thoroughly displayed.
Even if you don’t like it, you can’t do anything because it is necessary.
Don’t forget I also need to be the first one to line up once the news is released," Mervin said while looking at Lewis with a smile that doesn’t even look like a smile.
Mervin’s situation is actually almost similar to his. Mervin’s mental level was higher than most of 2S level sentinels that’s why the guides in the army can’t guide him.
He also hasn’t found a guide that has a higher compatibility rate of more than 30%. Mervin was also suffering from the pollution in his mental sea that was already on the verge of breakdown.
The reason Mervin often stayed only on the ship and commanded in the rear and took care of logistics wasn’t just because of his intelligence but also because he was already on the verge of breakdown.
Layton Lewis forbade Mervin from directly participating in the battlefield to minimize the effects of pollutants to him.
Mervin’s command and control in mecha is second only to himself so it was actually helpful for Mervin to join the battlefield.
However, his mental sea was also filled with pollutants.
It wasn’t as severe as himself as the pollutants hadn’t reached the center of his mental sea yet because of the help of potions and because of his 2S guide grandmother who was trying to sort out his mental sea every year.
It actually wasn’t just Mervin, almost all his lieutenant generals all had severe problems with their mental sea; it’s just that it wasn’t as bad as his and Mervin’s situation.
Because of their situation, those who knew about it thought that the ninth army was a time bomb itself. It could erupt any moment as long as they are triggered.
However, even if the whole federation knew about it nothing would change because an army was always needed to be in the frontlines.
The frontline they are holding is more prone to Zergs attacks compared to other frontlines so it can’t be helped that their soldiers, especially those leading them have a high degree of mental pollution.
So, to help his subordinates, even if he was dissatisfied, he still had to ask Ryzel to sort out the mental seas of his soldiers.
All sentinels actually don’t like letting their guides sort out other sentinels’ metal sea because it seems that their territory was being sullied by others.
Unfortunately, even if they were unwilling they can’t do anything as the numbers of guides were truly not enough.
"I know, don’t worry, I will ask Ryzel about it later on."
"Thank you, Lewis," Mervin said seriously.
"No need to thank me. How far are we to the next space jump station?"
"It’s just an hour away. After this jump if we maintain our current speed, we should be able to arrive at Area BR5875 earlier."
"We should have more energy left, so speed up a little more after our last space jump."
"Okay, we will speed up a little more. When I checked the supplies before we left, the number of potions wasn’t enough for them to use for 2 days.
