After Being Betrayed I Married the Glamorous CEO-Chapter 90, I slapped you, are you not convinced?!
The slap bewildered everyone present, including Wang Erhu. Considering Shen Fanyun’s extraordinary background and the high likelihood that his own elder brother had been bested by this man, Wang Erhu tried to be as courteous as possible.
So, when Shen Fanyun demanded he squat, Wang Erhu didn’t think too much about it. His mind was entirely consumed with questions. What happened to my brother? Has he met with some misfortune? And who in the world is this Shen Fanyun, that even my brother fears him?
It was only after the slap landed that Wang Erhu, clutching his cheek, snapped out of his daze and truly realized what had happened.
"You!" Wang Erhu’s veins bulged, his eyes filling with murderous intent. Is this guy taking my courtesy for weakness? The more polite I am, the more audacious he gets?
Zhong Kang, Zhang Dong, and the others were utterly baffled. The scene unfolding before them felt increasingly wrong. Shen Fanyun was far too arrogant, ridiculously so. Such behavior could only mean one of two things: either he was insane, or he truly had the power to back it up. Clearly, Shen Fanyun was the latter.
"You what?" Shen Fanyun asked, a playful smirk on his face. "Don’t tell me you’re tougher than your big brother?"
Wang Erhu froze as if his weakness had been seized, falling silent. His own brother had bowed his head in submission, admitting his mistakes and kowtowing. He, the second-in-command, was no match.
"What were you saying earlier about slaughtering me?" Shen Fanyun asked, bringing up the old threat.
Wang Erhu gritted his teeth. "I was joking."
"Was it that funny?" Shen Fanyun retorted, swinging another slap across his face that left five distinct finger marks.
At that moment, not only were Zhong Kang and Zhang Dong trembling in fear, but Su Xiyang was also so utterly shocked she nearly dropped her wine glass.
"No, not funny at all!" Wang Erhu hissed, sucking in a breath of air. He could feel his teeth loosening from the force of the blow.
"I hear that you, Wang Erhu, are quick to kill anyone who displeases you," Shen Fanyun said, his eyes narrowing and his voice turning noticeably colder. "Is that true or false?"
Wang Erhu fell silent. Everyone in Hangcheng City knew how he and his brother, Wang Laohu, had risen to power. As men who lived on the edge, constantly fighting and killing, how could their hands possibly be clean?
"Sir, I was rash tonight. I acted without understanding the full story. If I have offended you, please forgive me.
"Furthermore, I have been a poor host. As a punishment, I will drink this glass."
Wang Erhu grabbed a nearby glass of wine and downed it in one go. His attitude and sincerity were impeccable.
However, this once-fierce Tiger Lord now looked pale and uneasy, which left everyone completely puzzled. What kind of god-tier figure have we run into? To think that even Wang Erhu, a big name in Hangcheng City, would cave so easily?
Zhong Kang drew a sharp breath. He realized things were serious. Without needing a cue from Wang Erhu or a hint from Shen Fanyun, he dropped to his knees.
"Sir, I was blind and didn’t recognize Mount Tai. I offended you. Please forgive me." This was no joke. If a big shot like Wang Erhu was kneeling, how could he dare to remain standing? Every extra second he stayed on his feet was another second closer to death.
"Oh, Young Master Zhong, you’re being too formal. I can’t accept this honor," Shen Fanyun said, flashing a brilliant white grin.
Zhong Kang remained silent, his head hung low. He didn’t dare accept the title "Young Master Zhong" and wished he could find a hole to crawl into. He never imagined that the young man Su Xiyang knew would be so terrifying. Forget his background for a moment; he brought down the infamous Wang Erhu. What right did he, Zhong Kang, have to challenge Shen Fanyun?
Su Xiyang sat calmly beside Shen Fanyun. She had no intention of helping her classmate. As the saying goes, you reap what you sow. Since Zhong Kang went looking for trouble, he could deal with the consequences himself.
Zhong Kang knelt obediently, his heart a turmoil of emotions. Kneeling before the goddess he had admired for years was a bitter pill for any man to swallow.
"I’m sorry, I’m truly sorry. I offended you. Please forgive me," Zhong Kang continued to apologize, terrified that one wrong move would have him suffering the same fate as Zhang Dong.
Fortunately, Shen Fanyun was not the ruthless type. He simply nodded and reminded him, "Get him to a hospital quickly. His hand can still be saved."
Zhong Kang immediately understood. "Thank you, thank you so much."
Without another word, he and his lackeys scrambled to their feet, helped up Zhang Dong, and fled as if their lives depended on it.
Seeing that the matter was concluded, Wang Erhu relaxed. "Since everything is settled, sir, tonight’s drinks are on me.
"I’ll also send over three bottles of high-end liquor. I hope you two have a good time."
As Wang Erhu spoke, he began to stand, a friendly smile on his face. To an outsider, it would look as though he and Shen Fanyun were old friends who had known each other for years.
"And where are you going?" Shen Fanyun asked knowingly.
"Ah?" Wang Erhu froze mid-motion, his body stiffening. Don’t tell me he’s not done with this?
"Stay kneeling. Someone will be here soon to take you to see that elder brother of yours," Shen Fanyun said, patting Wang Erhu’s shoulder meaningfully.
Wang Erhu feigned confusion.
Shen Fanyun patted his cheek. "Don’t play the fool with me. Your hands must be stained with the blood of many innocent people. Isn’t it only right that you spend the rest of your life in prison?"
Is he planning to take down both my brother and me in one fell swoop? Wang Erhu was speechless.
Shen Fanyun shrugged and turned to Su Xiyang. "Let’s go home."
Wang Erhu remained kneeling, unsure whether to stand or stay down. His face turned pale and red in succession, clearly agitated.
"Sir, can you spare me?" Wang Erhu called out, steeling himself.
Shen Fanyun glanced back. "Spare you? When you were acting high and mighty, preying on others, did you ever think of sparing them?"
Wang Erhu was instantly rendered speechless.
Before leaving, Shen Fanyun added, "Go ahead, try to pull some strings. See who in Hangcheng City dares to help you and your brother now."
「Outside the bar.」
Fresh air greeted them.
Shen Fanyun wasn’t actually fond of the bar’s atmosphere. It was noisy, cramped, and full of people. The only thing that piqued his interest was the sight of so many attractive women in short-shorts. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"I never expected you to have such a strong sense of justice," Su Xiyang remarked, standing beside him.
Shen Fanyun’s expression suddenly turned serious. "I may not be a bad person, but I’m definitely not a good one," he replied coolly. "A sense of justice? That word doesn’t suit me."
Su Xiyang stood frozen, sensing a change in him at that moment, though she couldn’t quite describe what it was.
