Affinity: Chaos-Chapter 1529 Respect My Gut Feeling!
The man was still wondering what happened with Void when he sensed the presence of someone else, an unfamiliar aura.
Just as he wanted to turn to look at the figure, he felt his body paralyzed. Not by fear, but by a chilling cold. It was as if his body froze up. When he looked down, that was exactly what happened. His body froze up at a pace he never thought it would. Given his cultivation stage, unless the person is vastly superior to him, there's no way they could freeze him using the ice ability of the water element. But right before his eyes, his body was frozen and he couldn't even think properly since his thoughts were fuzzy.
Grey didn't let such an opportunity go to waste, he attacked, directly crushing the core of the man.
The man didn't expect everything to change so soon, and in such a manner. Grey tricked him and used his ability to teleport, not just that, but he also brought someone else to help him which exceeded his expectations. He thought Grey was a proud figure and wouldn't want help from others aside from his companion which was Void, but to his shock, Grey didn't come alone.
With the man's core shattered, he was practically harmless against the group.
Grey indicated for Klaus to remove the ice on the man's body. The ice was removed, but the man continued shivering from the cold.
"How are things now?" Grey asked, "Finally believe I wasn't playing?"
The man heard Grey's questions, but he didn't have the strength to answer. If not for Grey grabbing him roughly and dropping him on the ground, he would've died from the impact of falling from such height since he was mid-air due to him keeping himself up while battling.
The man looked at Grey, and it was as if life had been sucked out of his body, he didn't even have the strength to speak to Grey, he just sat on the ground, and it was as if he had given up on life.
"Looks like you dread this more than getting killed." Klaus commented when he saw the man's expression.
"Any Elementalist who has trained to such a level would rather die to revert to a normal person. He's finding it hard to accept." Grey was the one who replied to Klaus.
"I normally wouldn't want to become a normal person again, especially since I've finally gotten to the Sovereign Plane." Klaus replied after a while.
The man went blank, and after a while, he wailed pitifully.
Grey and Klaus looked at him, both emotionless.
"How does it feel to be on the other side?" Klaus asked.
"Setting someone up even after they fulfilled their side of the deal is a disgusting thing to do, and you're paying for it." Grey said.
The man continued wailing, it was as if he couldn't hear the words of the duo.
"I wanted to kill you, but I think it's better I leave you alive. I wonder how your life will be from now." Grey said to the man.
The man didn't reply, as he continued wailing. He was crying, tears and snot coming out of his eyes and nose.
Grey looked at Klaus and nodded, it was time they left this man alone.
He vanished, along with Void.
A few minutes after they vanished. The man coughed up a mouthful of blood and looked in the direction they went.
"Damn it. How can I make up for this now?!" He was incensed, but his expression wasn't the same as when Grey and Klaus were present.
After coughing out a mouthful of blood, he looked around and gulped down a tiny bead. This bead was actually part of the necklace he was wearing.
He gulped down the bead and his complexion turned a little more rosy.
"Stupid brat." He cursed as he took to the air.
Since his core was shattered, he shouldn't have been able to fly since he shouldn't be able to use elemental essence, but for some reason, he could.
This is all thanks to the bead he swallowed. His core was getting repaired as he flew back to his place, hoping to hide and rest.
While he was mid-air, he heard a voice that made his entire body freeze up.
"I told you there's something fishy about him."
"I never thought he had something like that."
"What should we do to him now?"
"Kill, obviously."
"Just what I had in mind."
"You're lucky my gut feeling told me he wouldn't die like that."
"Don't even bring that up."
"The sooner you start appreciating my gut feeling, the better."
"You're crazy."
"If not for my gut feeling, do you think you'd find out about this?"
"Shut up Klaus, I get it, you guessed right."
"I didn't guess, it was my gut feeling, it's completely different from guessing."
"Just kill him and we should get going."
Grey and Klaus were arguing in the background as they appeared behind the weakened man.
Hearing their conversation, he wanted to use the opportunity to escape, but then he saw Void standing before him with a cold expression.
"Nice kitty." He murmured, trying to coerce Void.
To his shock, however, Void seemed enraged by his words and charged at him.
Before both Klaus and Grey finished their argument, they saw no signs of the man.
"Huh? How did he escape without me sensing him?"
" I could swear I saw him there a moment ago."
Grey and Klaus started searching for the man, and then they turned their attention to Void who was standing peacefully.
"Did you see him?"
"He's dead."
Void's reply shocked them. But knowing Void, they knew he wouldn't lie about something like that. And it looked like he was the one who killed the man.
"Let's go then, Void has killed him."
"Will you start obeying my gut feeling now?"
"Maybe."
"Alright, give me your storage ring."
"Why?"
"Gut feeling."
"Fuck off."
