Adventures of the last Wild Dragon-Chapter 208: Completing the Test
With both Susan and Violet having passed the test it only left Rhyana and Luna, of the two Rhyana chose to go first.
She stepped into the arena, her dress transforming into a tighter fitting pants and shirt that would not limit her mobility. Kaldor nodded at the considerably smaller girl before him, not doubting her abilities despite the significant height advantage that he had on her.
"Okay you know the rules, attack me for a minute and try to take me down. Now, begin!"
This time he did not leap backwards, instead holding his ground as Rhyana charged towards him. Lightning coursed across her body, small bolts flying off towards Kaldor.
Very similar bolts of electricity began to run over his body, they too shot out to intercept the approaching bolts of lightning from Rhyana, when they hit a small bang went off before both bolts dissipated.
Still that did not deter Rhyana, she closed the distance quickly a gauntlet of electricity briefly forming around her hand as she punched forwards. Kaldor expertly moved his axe into the path of her attack, yet was left surprised when he found himself shoved back from the clash.
His eyes flashed with excitement as he visibly struggled to not attack back, still he remained in a defensive stance. Rhyana was relentless, she moved around him at breakneck speeds, launching a barrage of attacks, be it with fist, foot or tail.
Kaldor was pressed to try and block every attack that he could, swinging his axe around like it weight nothing even when it was slightly larger than Rhyana was.
Soon he was unable to block a blow, Rhyana had feinted with both a kick and a tail swipe only to duck under his raised axe haft and leap off the ground to deliver a powerful uppercut to his momentarily exposed chin.
A burst of electricity blasted out from the impact, yet dealt very little actual damage to either combatant thanks to their affinity to the element. Still the physical blow alone lifted the giant off his feet and sent him stumbling backwards.
Rhyana let him regain his feet and was about to advance once again when he held up his hand. "That’s time. And that was a damn good punch! But it’s now my turn." A feral grin split the man’s face as he spat out a bit of blood into the sand below. "Begin!"
With that he charged forward, Rhyana having but a moment to respond to the sudden change. She twisted out of the way of his first strike, her tail lashing out to smack his wrist in an attempt to knock the axe away.
Yet Kaldor would never be disarmed during a battle, so he managed to remain holding on, he turned the momentum from that to spin and launch another attack, his blade coated in dense lightning.
Rhyana suddenly turned into lightning as she zipped forwards and straight through Kaldor to end up on the opposite side of the arena from him. As for Kaldor, he looked slightly frazzled from that move, yet did not appear overly hurt.
Turning he once more faced Rhyana and dove right back into the fight.
The two exchange dozens of attacks, well Kaldor attacked whilst Rhyana blocked or dodged. Neither of them was able to gain any advanced thanks to their shared speciality, so the fight relied on raw strength and skill.
Rhyana surprisingly seemed to hold the edge in strength, whilst Kaldor held the edge in raw skill. So Rhyana was a bit frantic as she put her all into avoiding his relentless attacks.
Eventually though he stopped his attack, jumping back once more with a smile on his face.
"That is time, a damn good job little one! You have some solid understanding of how to fight, but you rely too much on instincts. Your electrical control is excellent. I’m happy to say that you have passed this test." Kaldor announced to a smiling Rhyana.
He then turned back to Luna, a wide smile as he spoke once again. "Looks like it is just you left, guess it is time for us to exchange blows once more. A shame that this won’t be a true fight, but I think we will both have good fun!"
"I’m sure it will be fun indeed." Luna agreed with a nod. Although between her and Violet she had devised a way for her to win the fight just as fast as Violet. In fact Luna hoped to win the fist even faster than her.
"Well then, let the fight begin!" He then began to lift his axe, electricity already forming on the blade. Yet his movements seemed slow, and only getting slower and slower until he appeared to have stopped entirely.
Luna casually walked forwards towards her frozen foe, a blade of ice forming in her hands. When she was besides him she hopped up in the air and created a platform of ice below her to stand in. She then moved her blade to rest against his neck as she allowed her frozen moment to end.
Kaldors eyes suddenly went wide as he felt the cold chill of a blade resting against his neck, he slowly looked to his side to see Luna, standing besides him with her sword casually held in place, a predatory smile on her lips.
"So, do I pass this test?" She asked.
Kaldor took a moment to process the sudden end to the fight before grumbling as he quite sullenly replied. "Yes you win." He then stepped back away from the blade as it melted away into nothing.
He then looked directly into Luna’s eyes as he spoke once more, this time loosing the sullen tone. "But I still want a propper spar with you one day! This time no using that chest of a skill right from the get go you hear!"
Luna chuckled as he said that, nodding in agreement. " I agree, I would like another fight with you one day. I learnt a lot from fighting you and would enjoy the opportunity to test myself once again."
Her answer seemed to satisfy the man as he nodded, his mood returning to its normal boisterous self.
"Bwahaha well, all of you have passed! Congratulations to you all! Now I’m going to ask you to all follow me and I can get you all issued with your identification badges that will mark you as members of the guild."
He then led the girls out of the arena and back into the room he first emerged from. Inside was an office of sorts, a desk sat at one end whilst a large crystal sat besides it. He moved behind the desk to sit down on what must have been a especially designed chair to fit his frame.
"So this is quite simple. Place your hand on the crystal, it will then prompt you to select what information you want to share. I will ask that you at least allow your level and name to be given. Anything else is optional. So let’s go the same order as the test shall we."
Hearing this sun’s stepped up and placed her hand on the crystal. She seemed to stare off into nothing for a while before blinking and removing her hand. A moment later a metal card materialised in front of her which she caught and inspected.
Violet was next, stepping forward to place her hand on the crystal.

Besides each line was a box she could mark to allow or disallow the information to be shared. She followed his advice and only allowed her name and level to be shared.
The screen the blinked away and a card appeared before her eyes. In it was a image of her to one side, her name and level displayed below. Then their was the symbol of the adventures guild embossed on the other side of the card, the compass was boldly displayed, the sword acting as the north arrow coloured a deep blue.
Violet nodded at that as she stepped away to let Rhyana have her turn.
Shortly after everyone had their new indenting cards marking them as genuine adventures. Kaldor smiled at them from his chair.
"Well congratulations once again ladies. Now do you have any questions for me before you go?"
Violet nodded enthusiastically. "Yes! I heard their was a dungeon discovered recently that lords will be able to enter! Where is it? And can we go?"
"Bwahaha I suppose it’s no surprise that’s the reason that you joined eh! Well I can confirm that to be true. In fact their is an open mission up in the main hall with more information on it, so feel free to head up and check it out. I only ask that you inform one of the receptionists that you are taking that quest if you decide to go ahead. Now off with ya, you have a dungeon to clear eh!"
