Adventures of the last Wild Dragon-Chapter 205: Return to Masel
The morning came all too soon, Violet and Luna found themselves roused by the sounds and smells of other guests moving about and breakfast being cooked up down below.
Whilst they enjoyed the comforts of their bed, they both did eventually get up and ready for the day ahead.
Upon exiting their room they were soon met with their friends who joined them in heading downstairs.
Entering the main room they were met with a surprising number of guests already busy digging into their breakfast. Spotting the man behind the bar they soon ordered their own food and settled down at a free table.
"So what do you all want to do today?" Violet asked the group.
"Hmm I don’t really know, we could just leave and head further east? But I still feel like it would be nice to explore the city some more, it might be worth us stopping by to get that artifact that can hide our identities as beasts?" Luna ventured.
"Oh such a thing is possible to get?" Inquired Susan as she looked at Luna with interest.
"Yeah the boss of the colosseum said so at least, we can apparently get that at the same magic shop we went to yesterday."
"Hmm then that’s probably a good thing for you three to pick up."
"Okay but what about after that?" Asked Rhyana.
"Well maybe we could find somewhere for us to get stronger? We need to get stronger if we want to have any real chance of completing your quest." Mused Violet.
It was at that time that the waiter arrived with their food, whilst he was setting down their dishes he spoke up.
"Sorry couldn’t help but overhear your conversation, you mentioned wanting to find somewhere to get stronger?"
The girls all nodded at that. "Yeah we do need that, but we don’t really know where we can do that with any ease apart from just wandering the wilds." Luna confirmed to the man as she accepted her plate of food.
"Well then you should check out the adventures guild. They post plenty of missions that are all about defeating strong beasts and monsters. I even heard that they discovered a new dungeon recently, although it’s apparently only open to Lords and above so it’s supposed to be quite powerful."
Violet tilted her head in confusion as she asked. "What’s a dungeon?"
Her question seemed to confuse the waiter as he blinked down at her, thankful it seemed that Susan was able to fill her in. "A dungeon is a place of highly concentrated mana, due to this it attracts large numbers of both beasts and monsters to reside within, it would actually be a perfect place for us to go if that is the case."
The waiter nodded at that confirming her words. "Hu, yeah that does sound like fun! Where can we find this dungeon?" Violet asked.
"I’m afraid that is something I do not know. You’d have to ask at the guild to find that out."
"Where can we find the guild in that case?" Queried Luna.
"Ahh now that is something I can help you with, head out here and turn right. Follow the road till you join the main thoroughfare and head into the city some more. Keep heading that way and you should come across it soon enough. It’s a big building with a sign or a compas and sword hanging out front."
With that said he nodded at the girls before backing away, leaving them to begin tearing into blame food set out before them. Whilst no where near as good as what they had the previous night, it was still quite tasty so they all enjoyed themselves.
With a plan of action for the day they decided that they should first stop by the magic shop before they headed over to the adventures guild to ask about the dungeon.
They thankfully knew the way to the magic shop so it did not take them all too long to find themselves once again entering the establishment.
Upon entry they were greeted by one of the employees. Upon asking to speak to the owner, and mentioning that they had been told to do so by Lalita, they were soon led to a back office where they met with the owner of Masels Magical Marvels, also known as Masel.
He was a surprisingly young looking elf, he had delicate features and wore expensive robes that shimmered with mana to Violet’s senses.
He loooed at the four girls for a moment as he gestured his assistant to leave, once she was gone the man nodded at them before speaking. "So, two dragons a leopard beast and a dogkin. Quite the part you have here."
The girls were surprised that their nature was so easily noted, going slightly on guard at the same time. "Now, now, no need to be worried. I can imagine why you came here if Lalita sent you to me. You want artifacts that will help prevent people from noticing your true nature as beasts"
Seeing the girls nod in agreement he continued. "Well I can certainly do that, I do have a few in stock. They ain’t cheap though I have to warn you."
"I can buy them, don’t worry." Violet said with confidence.
"Hmph, fine then, 3000 gold and the artifacts are yours." He says with a predatory smirk.
Violet humms for a moment as she searches her storage, Masel was just about to say something when 3 platinum coin appear on the table before him with a soft clink. He blinked at the coins for a moment, then faster than any of the girls could see swiped the coin up and made then vanish, a moment later 3 silver rings appeared on the table in the coins place.
"So these rings are quite simple in what they do, but powerful in their effect. They mask your unique mana signature that would ordinarily mark you as a beast, instead altering it to cause it to seem more like an enlightened. So to any magics that would normally be able to identify you as a beast you will instead seem as a beastkin."
"This effect should be able to fool most regular artifacts that are aimed at identifying you, it should even trick individuals in the 5th tier, well unless they are very overbearing, but if that happens then I think you have other things to worry about." He explained to the girls, featuring at the rings for them to take them.
The girls cautiously took the rings, sliding them on their fingers once they had them in hand. They felt a subtle shift in the presence of each other, it was small but noticeable.
"Good good! Now can I interest you in any other items? We have a wide variety of good that I can offer you?" Masel said with a wide smile.
The girls looked at each other, but each shook their head in the negative. All but Luna, she instead spoke up. "Do you have any tents? Or something for us to sleep in whilst in the wilds? Don’t know if it’s possible but one big enough to fit us whilst in our beast forms would be ideal."
Masel nodded at that. "Indeed we do have such items, please follow me and I can show you our selection." With that he stood up and led the girls out of his office and back into the main show room.
They went up a single flight of stairs and soon arrived at a section that seemed dedicated to outdoor camping. Their was a range of options, from tents all the way to actual cabins. He explained their functions as he went.
Simply put these were spatially expanded spaces, inside the options they were significantly bigger than on the outside. So it should be more than large enough for the to stretch out in comfort regardless of how big they were. Truthfully though it would be simpler for them to enter in humanoid form, still it was a nice touch.
The girls browsed the options for some time, eventually settling on a simple but well made option. It was a small cabin, or at least small on the outside.
Inside the cabin had 2 large bedrooms, a kitchen and a space for them to relax. It held everything that they could need in a rest area. Additionally it had the added bonus of being able to go inside of other storage items and even dissuaded beasts and monsters from encroaching close by it.
Satisfied with that option Violet went ahead and paid for it, letting go of another hefty chunk of change and making Masel giddy with excitement at all of the money he had made that day.
He did try and entice the girls to buy even more stuff, but much to his disappointment the girls smartly chose to refuse and leave before the money hungry enchanter took even more of their coins.
Back out on the street the girls all knew where their next destination lay, The Adventures Guild.
