Addiction to Temptation: His Mischievous Sweetheart Captivates Him-Chapter 291: Sir, Would You Like to Have a Drink With Me?
Natalie Vaughn told Zane Thorne that she would only arrive tomorrow.
But she couldn’t wait.
Partly because they’ve been inseparable for so long, two days apart seemed unbearable; partly because she wanted to see what Zane looked like as a coach before the competition.
The flight was only an hour.
Zane Thorne stayed at a specially arranged hotel, while Natalie Vaughn booked one nearby.
When she arrived, it was already eleven at night.
After changing, Vivian went downstairs to look for men, while Natalie Vaughn washed up and contemplated whether to tell Zane, when a message notification sounded.
From the man she was thinking about.
Zane Thorne had learned to be more considerate, asking if the show was good and chatting with Natalie Vaughn about trivial matters before bed.
All taught by Natalie Vaughn.
Natalie Vaughn directly made a video call.
Zane Thorne had just finished showering, his upper body bare and a towel wrapped around his waist, drying his hair. He had no idea where he’d placed his phone, but the camera was focused on his firm waist, defined V-line, and dragon tattoo.
Natalie Vaughn suddenly felt her mouth dry.
She made a decision.
"Do you have to get up early tomorrow for the match preparations?"
Zane Thorne casually wiped a bit more and picked up the phone to face his own face.
"Not really, no need for too early, it’s their match, not mine."
"Hmph, you say that, but aren’t you worried about them inside?"
Zane Thorne smiled a little, not denying it.
He noticed the background behind Natalie Vaughn and frowned.
"Are you in a hotel?"
Natalie Vaughn blinked.
"Yeah."
"Why not go home?"
"Home doesn’t have you, it’s cold and empty, I’m not going back there."
Zane Thorne was amused by Natalie Vaughn.
"And the hotel isn’t cold and empty?"
Natalie Vaughn just mysteriously laughed twice. At that moment, there was a knock on the door for room service.
She had ordered a bottle of wine.
Zane Thorne heard the French language, his eyebrows moved slightly.
"Where are you?"
Natalie Vaughn just smiled without speaking, leisurely opened the wine bottle, poured two glasses, and slowly revealed the hotel’s towel to the camera under Zane’s deepening gaze.
Upon seeing the words, the man instantly sat up.
"You’re here?"
Natalie Vaughn propped her chin with one hand, raised the wine glass to the man in the camera. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Sir, can you join me for a drink?"
Zane Thorne immediately hung up the call.
As Natalie Vaughn looked at the phone screen, she suddenly felt nervous. Holding the wine glass, she stood on the balcony, playing the simplest of games with the night.
Her heart was a bit chaotic.
How did the door get knocked after just counting to thirty?
Natalie Vaughn turned back with the glass into the room, opened the door, only to find Zane Thorne had come over in a bathrobe.
"..."
No wonder he came so quickly.
Natalie Vaughn handed the wine to the man, her hand resting on the belt of his robe.
"How did the hotel let you in looking like this?"
Zane Thorne bowed his head into Natalie Vaughn’s shoulder, gently rubbing a few times.
"Nobody stopped me."
Natalie Vaughn laughed and dodged a little, pulling him into the room with the belt. Because of the pace, wine spilled on both of them.
Natalie Vaughn laughed.
"Hold it steady."
Zane Thorne glanced at the remaining wine in the glass, chuckled, downed it, then cupped her face, and kissed her directly.
Natalie Vaughn initially kept her teeth clenched, not letting him get away so easily.
But they were too familiar, and it only took Zane Thorne lifting his hand to rub behind her ear for Natalie Vaughn to relent, retreat, and break into a laugh.
The wine dripped along her lips, soaking into her neckline.
Natalie Vaughn had specially changed into a spaghetti strap dress.
White.
The wine stained it red.
Turning it into Zane Thorne’s favorite red dress.
The wine felt uncomfortable on her skin, so she pushed Zane Thorne step by step back, eventually into the bathroom.
Zane Thorne noticed she wanted to take the lead.
He let her push him until they were both in the bathtub.
She brought the wine bottle inside and sat on his lap.
"Coach Thorne, isn’t leaving the hotel in the middle of the night quite irresponsible?"
He took the wine, poured a glass, and held it to her lips.
"I’m the boss, not the coach."
The boss goes where he wants when he wants.
She felt the deep desire in his eyes, her heart trembled. They’ve been busy with the race, and actually...
"When does the competition start?"
"Don’t worry."
Then he set the wine glass aside, pulled her close, and kissed her again.
...
Natalie Vaughn awoke with Zane Thorne’s kisses again.
Last night had been intense, making her eyelids heavy. She stretched out her hand and patted his face, murmuring.
"Let me sleep a bit longer."
Zane Thorne smiled, kissed her nose.
"Didn’t you say you’d cheer for Jay? If we don’t hurry, it’ll be too late."
Upon hearing this, Natalie Vaughn strained to open her eyes.
Aches in her hands, legs, waist.
And the culprit now wore a wide grin.
Natalie Vaughn irritatedly bit him, slapped his shoulder and softly accused.
"I said no, but you kept pushing, it’s all your fault."
Zane Thorne took her hand, admitting his mistake.
"Yes, it’s my fault."
Natalie Vaughn was used to Zane Thorne’s routine of admitting mistakes but not changing.
"You’re all talk."
She sat up, full of not-enough-sleep annoyance, glaring at him.
He tried to embrace her but got pushed away.
"I was wrong, baby, truly wrong."
Natalie Vaughn coldly snorted.
"Will you change?"
Zane Thorne:...
"...I’ll change."
She didn’t quite believe him.
He knew she wouldn’t.
"I picked out an outfit for you, want to see?"
She glanced briefly, noticing he’d started matching outfits for them.
"Don’t think this will just patch things up."
He leaned close, kissing the side of her face.
"Feeling happier?"
"Just a bit."
"Then I did it right."
"My waist still aches."
He reached to massage her for a while, until she felt better. Then they dressed to head to the competition.
She didn’t have time for makeup, but today’s sporty attire and her sunglasses, paired with a baseball cap, presented quite a look.
When they arrived, Jay and the others were already dressed and ready.
Hayden was still all googly-eyed seeing Zane, showing no pre-match nerves. Jay, after Natalie Vaughn’s encouragement, held a calm confidence, even if he didn’t win today, he’d surely win next time.
"Mr. Thorne, up early to pick up Nina, no wonder the hotel called and you didn’t respond."
Natalie Vaughn:...
