Chapter 290: Chapter 290: Do You Want to Try?

Natalie Vaughn and Vivian had just arrived at the bathroom when they heard the rapid tapping of high heels against the floor.

Having dealt with Serena Blackwood and her peculiar notion of love, Natalie didn’t have high hopes for Ian’s fiancée to be a surprise.

Vivian, however, was unusually excited.

"What do you think she’ll do?"

Natalie shook her head, unable to understand Serena Blackwood, she couldn’t fathom this noble-born fiancée either.

The door swung open, and a woman sporting items worth millions entered, casting a disdainful glance over Natalie’s outfit today.

"I wonder if Ian has lost his mind to even take a fancy to someone like you."

Hearing this, Natalie simply continued fixing her makeup in the mirror. Seeing Natalie ignore her, Vivian followed suit.

Ian’s fiancée shared a trait with Ian; from childhood, they were accustomed to the attention of many and never encountered someone like Natalie who simply didn’t care.

While Natalie brought curiosity and attraction to Ian, she only gave his fiancée a sense of shame and anger.

"Hey, I’m talking to you, are you deaf?"

The voice was sharp and unpleasant, causing Natalie to furrow her brows uncomfortably. She placed her lipstick into her handbag and turned around slowly.

Tall by nature, with today’s high heels, her aura was even more daunting. Having spent time with Zane Thorne, the depth in her gaze now sent chills down one’s spine.

"Who are you talking to?"

The tone was indifferent, eyebrows raised, each word spoken with ease and control.

"I’m speaking to you."

Natalie chuckled lightly.

"I have a name."

"Who would know your name?"

"And who are you? I don’t know your name either."

The woman was visibly angered, her chest heaving.

"I’m Ian’s fiancée, part of the King Family..."

Before she could finish, Natalie suddenly extended her finger and touched it to her mouth from afar.

"I don’t care who you are, nor do I want to know you, be it Ian’s fiancée or some family heir. If Ian has eye problems, go find him. Don’t try to make yourself known here, your grand-aunt doesn’t like noisy people."

"You! Insolent fool! How can you be so rude!"

"Rude?"

Natalie’s tail-end note rose as she approached the prestigious Miss King, each step echoing like knocks on one’s heart.

She leaned in slightly.

"I can be even ruder, want to try?"

Saying this, Natalie casually rolled up her sleeves, the action exuding nonchalance, adding to her unrestrained demeanor.

It was Miss King’s first encounter with someone like Natalie, causing her to retreat several steps.

"Do you know my family, do you know Ian’s family? Are you thinking of hitting me?"

Natalie raised her hand to pinch her brow.

"Enough with the theatrics, am I rolling up my sleeves just to hit you? Does Ian looking at me mean he’s taken a liking to me? And even if he did, the one you should seek is Ian. I find him annoying, it’s best you fulfill your role as his fiancée and manage your man."

Miss King: ?????

Vivian, having watched from the sidelines, finally couldn’t hold back, bursting into laughter, nearly doubling over.

This Miss King held herself on such a high pedestal in the company. Vivian had long found her displeasing, along with many others.

Miss King’s face flushed with embarrassment.

"Have you no shame? Ian taking a fancy to you is your good fortune, yet you dare disdain it."

Natalie was beyond words; was this fiancée a bit mentally unsettled? Raised pampered all her life yet managed to damage her brain?

She had no time to waste bantering with her.

Natalie snorted coldly.

"If he hasn’t taken a fancy to you, should you die of shame and run upstairs threatening suicide?"

"You!"

The woman picked up her purse, ready to hurl it at Natalie, but Ian arrived and caught her wrist, then harshly flung it aside.

"Didn’t I tell you not to stir up trouble for me?"

Miss King crumbled upon seeing Ian defend an Oriental woman by laying hands on her.

"You’re hitting me for this woman? Ian, I’m going back to tell my father."

Ian’s expression was full of disdain.

"Also let your father know I don’t want this marriage anymore, have him take you to the hospital and check your brain, if it’s useless donate it to someone in need."

"You? You’re breaking off the engagement for this woman? This engagement is between our two families, how will you explain it to ours?"

Ian sneered upon hearing this.

"Do you really think your family remains as glorious as decades ago? Just a fallen family holding onto me and yet repeatedly causing me trouble; if I break off the engagement, what can your family say?"

Miss King’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Natalie, listening from the side, found the situation amusing.

She had truly assumed this Miss carried herself with such high airs because her family was formidable, but it was only a fallen one.

Curious indeed, why, needing Ian’s support, would she persistently upset him?

Truly foolish.

She had no interest in listening further, she had to hurry to Eldoria for the race.

As she made to leave, Ian caught her wrist.

Natalie glanced down, prompting Ian to release her. Natalie then, before them both, wiped with a cloth the spot Ian had touched.

Ian’s face paled slightly.

"I apologize on her behalf."

"If both of you henceforth refrain from troubling me, I’ll gladly accept your apology."

Saying this, she left elegantly, Vivian trailing closely.

"Sweetheart, you were irresistible just now, I’ve never seen Ian’s fiancée driven to such a state, now Ian is actually breaking off the engagement with her, hahaha, I enjoyed it immensely."

Natalie had thought the noble lady would at least bring people to flaunt and threaten, but not expected her to come alone.

"I’m heading to Eldoria now, are you coming?"

Vivian considered, with the next couple of days free.

"I’ll go."

After walking a while, she asked.

"Why are we going to Eldoria?"

Natalie found it amusing.

"You don’t even know why, yet you’re coming along?"

"Well, here it’s just drinks with friends; pretty dull, things are much more fun with you."

"To watch the race."

"What race?"

"A car race."

Vivian suddenly hugged Natalie excitedly, her hands patting her shoulder incessantly.

Natalie: ...

"You don’t have to be so excited."

Vivian replied earnestly.

"No! Sweetheart! You know I’ve been feeling so empty lately, I desperately need to find a man, your husband must know many racers, just introduce me to one."

Natalie: ...

How could she forget, if described in one line, Vivian was the quintessential flirt. Falling in love, flirting with one each time, never lasting more than a month.

Just the men she knew numbered a dozen.
